Leetonia – Richard Elrod, no age or address listed, was charged with theft after officers at 6:49 p.m. Sept. 14 observed him enter a Hazel Street business knowing him to routinely steal merchandise due to having being previously employed there and knowing the security camera placement. Highway Patrol — A hit/skip was reported at 9:10 a.m. Sept. 17 in Fairfield Township when the side mirror on an eastbound vehicle driven by Derrin D. Weaver, 51, Winona Road, Salem, on state Route 558 was struck by the side mirror of a westbound truck which continued from the scene. While en route, dispatch advised the deputy that the person was with a family member at Dollar General.
