- Richard Elrod, no age or address listed, was charged with theft after officers at 6:49 p.m. Sept. 14 observed him enter a Hazel Street business knowing him to routinely steal merchandise due to having being previously employed there and knowing the security camera placement. Elrod was found in possession of a concealed candy bar.
Salem
-- Officers assisted EMT secure a potentially unsafe scene in the 500 block of South Broadway Avenue at 1:31 a.m. Saturday. Officers assisted medical personnel and the patient was transported to the hospital fur further evaluation.
-- An intoxicated man was reported in the 1100 block of East Third Street at 12:04 a.m. Saturday. The person in question advised they had drunk alcohol and taken an unknown pill. Due to medical issues, the person was transported to the Salem Regional Medical Center for treatment. After being released by medical staff later in the night, officers provided a courtesy transport for the man to his father's workplace.
-- A domestic dispute was reported in the 600 block of Woodland Avenue at 8 p.m. Friday. Both parties had been arguing and the male half had taken the female half's phone and dropped it in water. The phone was in working condition, and both were advised to stay in separate areas of the home for the rest of the night. There were no threats or violence.
-- A person running into traffic to hand out flyers was reported in the 2300 block of East State Street at 6:47 p.m. Friday. Officers located the person in question and advised them to cease their behavior.
-- A domestic in progress was reported in the 500 block of Continental Drive at 4:56 p.m. Friday. Officers located the male half, who was detained due to possible threats that had been made. The caller advised that no physical threats had been made and the male half was released.
-- A possible burglary was reported in the 100 block of West Pershing Street at 12:02 p.m. Friday. The caller advised people were going into a vacant building. Officers located the people in question outside the residence, who were collecting belongings that were on the back porch so they could be moved into a new residence
-- A person to be removed was reported in the 200 block of South Broadway Avenue at 9:56 a.m. Friday. Officers located the person in question, and they were advised to gather their belongings and leave the property. The person was also trespassed from the property and advised that they would be arrested if they returned.
