Highway Patrol
-- Jacob W. Snyder, 37, East Washington Street, Lisbon, was cited for marked lines after his vehicle traveling the on ramp to state Route 11 from state Route 154 in Lisbon crossed over the right fog line and struck a disabled vehicle on the right shoulder facing northbound on state Route 11 at 10:40 a.m. Sept. 11 in Elkrun Township, driven by Michelangelo Morlicchio, 62, Salarno, Italy. Neither driver nor the three passengers in the Morlicchio vehicle were injured.
-- Beverly R. Suffolk, 73, Kent, was cited for a stop sign violation after her eastbound vehicle on state Route 558 failed to stop at the stop sign and struck a southbound vehicle that had entered the intersection on state Route 164 driven by James W. Horn, 48, state Route 164, Lisbon, at 8:41 a.m. Sept. 11 in Fairfield Township. Horn had stopped for the stop sign and entered the intersection when the crash occurred. Horn suffered a suspected minor injury, but wasn't transported. Suffolk wasn't injured.
-- A 16-year-old teen was cited for assured clear distance after his northeast bound vehicle on U.S. Route 30 struck the rear of another northeast bound vehicle driven by Sydney Lautzenheiser, 24, Stump Road, Minerva, who was stopped to make a left turn at 5:18 p.m. Sept. 10 in West Township. No injuries were reported.
-- Rachel C. Miller, 86, Lower Elkton Road, Leetonia, was cited for left of center after her eastbound vehicle went left of center while negotiating a curve on state Route 164 at 8:41 p.m. Sept. 9 in Fairfield Township and struck a westbound vehicle driven by Katie M. Shaum, 42, Union Street, Columbiana. No injuries were reported to either driver or Shaum's passenger.
-- A 17-year-old teen was cited for reasonable control after his eastbound vehicle crossed the center line on state Route 558 and struck a westbound vehicle driven by Brandon R. Kekel, 37, Carey Road, Salem, running off the road to the left at 7:15 p.m. Sept. 9 in Salem Township. No injuries were reported.
-- No injuries were reported in a hit/skip accident after an ATV with an unknown operator struck another westbound vehicle driven by Kenneth L. Frischkorn, 21, Old Irondale Road, Wellsville, who was turning left into a private drive at 11:39 p.m. Sept. 6 in Yellow Creek Township. The ATV left the scene.
Salem
-- A suspicious person was reported walking in the 900 block of East Third Street at 5:34 a.m. Sunday. Officers located the man in question who advised he had been invited to the residence. The caller completed a trespass form, and the man was advised not to return and of the potential consequences for doing so.
-- Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 10:20 p.m. Sunday regarding allegations of sexual assault. Officers gathered information, which will be relayed to the detective division.
-- Nicholas Gardner, 26, Minerva, was cited for driving under suspension after a registration check on his vehicle in the 1700 block of East State Street at 7:46 p.m. Sunday showed him to be suspended. A valid driver responded to retrieve the vehicle.
--Officers checked on a person allegedly under the influence of a drug and falling over at a business in the 100 block of North Howard Avenue at 6:46 p.m. Sunday. Officers spoke with the person in question who advised that they had taken too many pills. They were transported to the Salem Regional Medical Center by EMT. They were also trespassed from the business.
-- A combative patient was reported in the 2500 block of Bentley Drive at 4:43 p.m. Sunday. The person was alleged to have become violent and injured another patient. Officers stood by until EMT were able to get the patient secured and transport them for medical evaluation.
- John E. McCallister, 55, Franklin Avenue, Salem, was charged with theft after officer responded to the 200 block of Sharp Avenue at 1:20 a.m. Sunday where an individual reported leaving a bag inside a store and the bag being missing when he returned to get it. Video showed McCallister taking the bag.
- Scott Joseph Vogel, Vine Street, Salem, was arrested on an active warrant out of the Columbiana County Sheriff's Office after officers on patrol in the area of Woodland Avenue and East Pershing Street at 12:53 a.m. Sunday observed him in the area and knew him to have the warrant for his arrest.
