Salem — Officers spoke to a woman at the police department at 1:57 p.m. Thursday regarding an elderly man that began showing up the woman’s place of employment and has allegedly made remarks which are in line with having a desire to establish a romantic relationship with the caller. The man has reportedly been a customer at the business for approximately a year, but in the past month his behavior has become increasingly concerning, causing the woman to be fearful of him. Sheriff’s Office — Deputies at 4:50 a.m. Aug. 10 responded to a report of an assault at a property on Signal Road, Fairfield Township where a man reported there was an altercation between him and another male who kept trying to prevent him from leaving in his vehicle by opening the door and standing in the way. The man said he exited his vehicle and struck the other male who fell to the ground and was still there when he left the scene. Deputies spoke with the other male, who did not wish to pursue charges. Sheriff’s Office — Deputies were called at 11:42 p.m. Wednesday to Skyline Drive, Yellow Creek Township for a domestic disturbance, advised of an assault by the female victim who had visible injuries. Zachary Paxson, 46, Skyline Drive, Wellsville, advised that an assault took place and was taken into custody and taken to the Columbiana County jail. Residents advised that people who were visiting had been in a verbal dispute and one of the persons left.
