-- Officers responded to the first block of Elm Avenue at 5:21 a.m. Tuesday for a reported suspicious person. The caller advised that an elderly woman trying to flag down vehicles. Officers spoke with the woman who advised that her son was in the emergency room, and she was trying to get to Alliance hospital. She advised that she was going to go to Circle K West for a phone.
-- Officers responded to the area of Fairview Court at 3:56 a.m. Tuesday for a report of possible shots fired. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate or hear anything unusual.
-- Officers responded to the 800 block of East School Street at 2:57 a.m. Tuesday for a reported suspicious vehicle. Officers spoke with the occupants who advised they'd been kicked out of the driver's residence, and had nowhere to take her daughter, and the driver did not want them staying alone and took them to the park. The woman was given resources to contact in the morning.
-- Officers responded to the 100 block of Jennings Avenue at 11:35 p.m. Monday for a reported neighbor dispute. Officers collected information and advised both parties to stay separated for the night.
-- Officers responded to the 1400 block of East State Street at 8:59 p.m. Monday for a report of theft. The caller advised that one of her foster children had stolen make up products from Rite Aid and the juvenile admitted to taking the items. The matter will be sent to the juvenile prosecutor for possible charges.
-- Officers responded to the 2500 block of Lexington Avenue at 8:49 p.m. Monday for a follow up. Officers attempted contact at the residence and officers were unable to make contact.
-- Officers responded to the 600 block of Superior Avenue at 3:23 p.m. Monday for a report of criminal damage. The caller advised that an unknown person spray painted on his sidewalk and was unsure when the incident occurred, but there had been other reports of the same issue in his neighborhood over the weekend.
-- Officers responded with the fire department to the 800 block of South Union Avenue at 2:42 p.m. Monday for a reported line down in the roadway. The line was removed by the fire department and officers stood by until no longer needed.
-- Officers responded to the area of Centennial Park at 1:42 p.m. Monday for a report of juveniles riding scooters in a reckless manner. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the person in question.
-- Officers responded to the 1100 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 10:24 a.m. Monday for a report of drug paraphernalia. The caller advised that while mowing the yard he located a glass pipe. The pipe was recovered, brought back to the police department and properly disposed of.
-- Officers checked on a suspicious vehicle in the area of Highland Avenue and East Tenth Street at 1:38 a.m. Monday. Officers spoke with the juvenile driver, collecting information and advising them to go home for the night due to being out past curfew.
-- Officers spoke with a person at the police department at 11:44 p.m. Sunday regarding an ongoing issue with a significant other. Officers collected information and advised them of legal options and to contact officers if anything else is needed.
-- Austin Chaffin, 18, Salem, was cited for failure to control after his northeastbound vehicle on Newgarden Avenue swerved to the right, striking a telephone pole before correcting back to the left and leaving the roadway over the curb and coming to rest in the curb lawn. No injuries were reported, and Davidson's Towing removed the vehicle from the roadway.
-- Officers responded to the 500 block of West Wilson Street at 9:48 p.m. Sunday for a reported reckless operator. Officers located the vehicle, and the driver was found to be an elderly individual who was just tired behind the wheel. The person was home and safely off the roadway when officers arrived.
-- Officers responded to the 600 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 7:34 p.m. Sunday for a report of criminal damage. The caller had graffiti spray painted all over the east side of his detached garage. Another report of graffiti was filed earlier in the day nearby with the same type of writing, confirming the same party was responsible for the damage. Photos were taken and the caller was advised officers would patrol the area and alley more throughout the night.
-- Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 5:18 a.m. Sunday to assist the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force. A man was taken into custody and transported to the police department for processing, and $27 in cash was seized as evidence.
-- Officers responded to the 600 block of East Seventh Street at 1:22 a.m. Sunday for a complaint of graffiti on a vehicle. Officers were advised that the incident occurred during the night, and that there was also graffiti on the sidewalk. Photographs were obtained and a police report was made.
-- Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 12:02 p.m. Sunday for a report of ongoing harassment and criminal damaging. Officers were advised three people kicked the caller's side view mirrors off their vehicle the night of Aug. 14, which was caught on video surveillance. The caller advised that they believed they knew who the people were, and the matter is under investigation.
-- Officers responded to a business in the 900 block of West State Street at 9:57 a.m. Sunday for a reported theft. A woman walked into the business and stole two laundry carts and two metal stools. Officers were able to identify the woman from security footage in addition to another woman who was driving the vehicle. Charges are pending for both women.
