Halls celebrate 60th year

CANFIELD - Dorothy and David Hall celebrated their 60th anniversary on Feb. 14.The couple were married Feb. 14, 1956.Mr. Hall is the son of the late Clarence and Janet Hall, East Palestine.Mrs. Hall is daughter of the late Louis and Mildred Hussar, Rogers.The couple have six children, Kimberly (Terry) Fink, Salem; Kathy (Steve) Kelecava, Salem; Michelle Hall, Indiana; Michael Hall, North Carolina; Leslie (Tony) Hudock, Canfield; and Chris Hall, Struthers. There are also 18 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.Mr. Hall is retired from General Motors in Lordstown.

65th year for Columbiana couple

COLUMBIANA - Jim and Wilma Hum, Columbiana High School sweethearts, are celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary.The former Wilma J. Kabler married F. James Hum on Feb. 11, 1951 at Columbiana's United Methodist Church, with the Rev. William Longsworth officiating.Mr. and Mrs. Hum are both lifelong residents of Columbiana.They are the parents of twins, Rick (Crystal) Hum and Vicki (Terry) Cosma, and daughter Cheryl (Larry) Drane.Along with family, including grandchildren and great-grandchildren, there will be a special weekend celebration.

Mahers celebrate 65th yearSALINEVILLE - Phil and Audrey (Bates) Maher celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with a family dinner in Kalamazoo, Mich.Mr. and Mrs. Maher were married Aug. 12, 1950 in Salineville.Mr. Maher retired as Superintendent of Wellsville Schools in 1986 and Mrs. Maher retired as owner and operator of Audrey's Beauty Salon in Salineville. After retirement, the couple spent four years living in Anchorage, Alaska and toured and fished throughout the state. SALEM - Randy and Towanna Strader, Salem, celebrated their 50th anniversary Jan. 15 at the Guilford Grille with a dinner party hosted by the couple's family.The former Towanna Adams wed Randy Strader on Jan. 15, 1966 at the Phillips Christian Church with the Rev. DEAR ABBY: My fiance is in the Marine Reserves. He has been in for five years, and his contract is due to end next year. After that, he will either resign or re-enlist.He's obsessed with the idea of serving his country and deploying. He says he won't feel like he did his job if he doesn't deploy.
