Editor: I wish to set the record straight regarding the Journal’s election coverage. In the paper dated Wednesday, Nov. 7, it was reported that I was not available to comment on the election results. I was available that evening, and every day since as well. I spent election evening with other candidates, Shawna Roberts CD-6 and Ray Wagner, Jr. and friends and supporters at a Salem restaurant. Despite all the ills, dump starts again

Editor: I really can’t believe that the dump in Negley has been permitted to start up again. This dump, located uphill and above the village, was supposedly for construction debris only. This has repeatedly been called into question considering the terrible odors coming from the site when it was in full production in the past as well as the fouled water and foaming substances coming from leaks and springs in several places around the base of the dump site. Editor: As chairman of the levy committee, proud Rebel parent and community member I am urging you to support the upcoming school levy. There is a team of motivated community members working countless hours to inform the community about the bond based on facts. We are asking voters to approve a bond to build a new state of the art PreK-12 facility. The state is funding 88 percent of the project saving us, the taxpayers, millions of dollars. Help the Angels

Editor: I just wanted to say that I was greatly helped by the wonderful spay programs of Angels for Animals. I have had many cats which were strays, that I felt sorry for. I knew they needed to be spayed and neutered, but I had no way to afford it. I was looking for help and saw a post about fostering kittens for Angels. I talked to a volunteer named Sameera. She told me about a family, the Kissingers, who raised money at Angels by putting on pancake breakfasts, then sold vouchers to have cats “fixed” for $15 each. No fan of Issue 1

Editor: With Ohio’s current drug problem, it is very troubling to learn that the Democratic nominee for state treasurer, Rob Richardson, would support a constitutional amendment that has the potential to enable to flow of more drugs into our communities. But I think there is hope with Republican nominee, Robert Sprague, who opposes State Issue 1. Sprague has noted Issue 1 not only endangers Ohio’s fight against drugs but puts families at risk.
