To the editor: Some young men in our community are missing out on important opportunities by accidentally breaking the law. As a Selective Service citizen board member, I feel a responsibility to say something. The law says all young men must register with Selective Service when they turn 18. But across the country one out of 10 young men don’t register. Research shows that the majority of the time, they simply don’t know they have to.
