To the editor: I was quite surprised at the title of the recent “Our Side” editorial (may 28 -“Bill Aims to Hide the Truth from Ohio’s Students”) regarding proposed legislation limiting the teaching of certain concepts in Ohio’s public schools. The actual language of this bill (Ohio HB 344) , which is readily available on the internet (the language in question can be found on pages 9-12), can and should be read and Ohio citizens. Nurses want change

To the editor: Every year, between May 6 and 12, National Nurses Week recognizes the important work of nurses. As a local nurse, it’s nice to receive the recognition. A pat on the back here, a pizza party there, and maybe little trinkets that attempt to say, “thanks for all you do.” While I am appreciative, every year I feel let down. Why? Primary election voters support majority of levies

To the editor: Voters across Ohio approved 68% of the school tax issues on the 2021 primary election ballot. The passage of 50 of 73issues marked a small uptick from the 2020 primary election, when voters approved 63 of 99 school tax issues for a passage rate of 64%. Fifty percent of new school tax requests were approved Tuesday, May 4, with 20 of 40 issues passing, an increase from 2020. In last year’s primary election, voters approved 20of 53 new tax issues for a 38% passage rate. Flag — and our country in need of repair To the editor: While stopped at the traffic light of Park Way and Smith Ferry Road I happened to view our nation’s flag on display in the yard of a home on the corner. As I looked at the flag I could not help but think that this is how our nation is today. Although the colors of the flag are visible, it is very torn and in sad condition. To the editor: Two editorials in your April 13 issue caught my eye. Diane Dimond comments entitled “Readers to Politicians: You’re not listening!” And Tim Graham’s “Green fraud and climate lockdown.” First, Diane Dimond. I frequently write and call my three representatives: Rob Portman, Ohio Senator; Sherrod Brown, Ohio Senator; and Bill Johnson, Ohio District 6 Congressional Representative. Guess what? To the editor: It is humbling to look back over the past year, and as I take stock of what our employees have overcome and achieved during a pandemic, I can only glow with pride for our people and our organization. Very early on, we instituted strict protocols to ensure the safety of our employees, customers and the community at large.
