Salem

— Officers responded to the 400 block of South Union Avenue at 2:43 a.m. Saturday for a report of a possible breaking and entering. Officers cleared the residence and collected information and photos from the caller and advised the caller to keep the doors locked and call back immediately if anything else occurred. The matter will be investigated further, and officers will be following up on the incident.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of Aetna Street at 11:31 p.m. Friday for a report of suspicious activity. Officers spoke with the people in question and found that one of them, Michael Villegas, Salem, had an active warrant out of Stark County and detained him. Villegas requested medical attention and was transported to the Salem Regional Medical Center where he told officers that he was not going to jail and would request a mental evaluation. After being released from the hospital, Villegas was transported to Alliance and released to the custody of the Hartville Police Department.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of Woodland Avenue at 8:38 p.m. Friday for an unruly juvenile. When officers arrived, another person at the residence began having a medical emergency, and the fire department and EMT responded. The person in question was transported for further medical care, and the original caller no longer wanted to speak with officers.

— Officers responded to the 1900 block of East State Street at 8:18 p.m. Friday for a reported trespass complaint. The family of a patient were having security issues with a sick family member. The family came to an agreement and advised officers that the matter had been handled when they arrived.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 6:30 p.m. Friday for a reported civil matter. The caller advised they had purchased a refrigerator for $200 and when he returned home had found it to be full of roaches, and that despite agreeing to refund the money the seller had refused to do so when he brought the appliance back. The caller was advised that the matter was civil and to contact CashApp.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of Olive Street at 5:31 p.m. Friday for a reported noise complaint. The source of the noise was located, and the person in question turned their music down.

— Officers responded to the 2400 block of East State Street at 2:25 p.m. Friday for a report of harassment. The caller advised that while walking through a parking lot a person known to them had yelled at her. The caller advised that there were no threats, but she wanted a report on file.

— Officers spoke with a person at the police department about a possible issue at 12:41 p.m. Friday. Officers provided them with the options for dealing with the issue.

— Officers responded to the area of Fairview Court East and Whinery Road at 12:09 p.m. Friday to check for a water line break. Officers checked the area and located running water, and the city water department was advised of the situation.

— Officers responded to the 2500 block of Bentley Drive at 11:55 a.m. Friday for a reported dispute between two residents. Information was collected.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of East Pershing Street at 2:09 a.m. Friday for a report of someone entering the track after hours. Officers spoke with the person in question and advised them of the track’s hours of operation, and they left without issue.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of West Seventh Street at 12:50 a.m. Friday for a reported fight. Officers spoke with a resident, who advised that there was no fight, and the people in question had left prior to their arrival.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of Woodland Avenue at 12:22 a.m. Friday for a report of a person standing in the middle of the roadway. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate them.

— Officers responded to the 2300 block of East State Street at 10:37 p.m. Thursday for a reported intoxicated driver. The caller advised that they observed the driver of the vehicle drinking an alcoholic beverage. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

— Officers responded to the 1000 block of Superior Avenue at 10:08 p.m. Thursday for a reported noise complaint. Officers spoke with the people in question and advised them that the park closes at 10 p.m. and they needed to leave for the night.

— Officers on patrol in the 400 block of South Lundy Avenue at 8:33 p.m. Thursday observed grass on fire in the front yard of a residence. Officers spoke with the residents who advised they were burning paper, and they were advised that they were in violation of the city’s fire code. The residents put the fire out.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 8:10 p.m. Thursday for a reported juvenile problem. The caller was advised of their options.

— Officers responded to the 700 block of East State Street at 8:12 p.m. Thursday for a parking complaint. The caller advised their vehicles were blocked in. Officers spoke with the owners of the vehicles in question and they were moved.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of Continental Drive at 6:05 p.m. Thursday for a wellness check. The caller advised that she was having thoughts of harming herself. Officers spoke with the caller, and she was transported to the Salem Regional Medical Center by EMT.

— Officers on patrol in the area of East State Street and Ohio Avenue at 2:24 p.m. Thursday assisted the Ohio State Highway State Patrol with a traffic stop.

— Officers responded to the 2700 block of East State Street at 2:03 p.m. Thursday for a report of two juveniles left unattended in a motor vehicle. Officers found that the vehicle had left the area prior to their arrival and checked the surrounding area for the vehicle but were unable to locate it.

— Officers responded to the 1800 block of Pearce Circle at 1:05 p.m. Thursday for a report of theft. The caller advised that several pieces of jewelry that belonged to her deceased mother were missing and that they believed it was possibly taken while her mother was still alive by home healthcare professionals. No exact person in question was able to be obtained by the officer, and the caller just wanted the matter to be documented.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 2:11 a.m. Thursday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with person in question, and they were transported to the Salem Regional Medical Center by EMT.

— Officers responded to the 700 block of Arch Street at 1:19 a.m. Thursday for a report of a possible overdose. Officers stood by until the fire department and EMT arrived, and the person in question was transported to the Salem Regional Medical Center.

— Officers responded to a residence in the 1500 block of Southeast Boulevard at 1:02 a.m. Thursday for a warrant check. Officers spoke with the homeowner, who advised that the wanted person, Tricia Watson, 43, Salem, was inside. Watson was taken into custody and transported to the Columbiana County Jail.

— Officers responded to the 700 block of Franklin Avenue at 12:35 a.m. Thursday for a wellness check. The caller advised a young juvenile had run past her house with no shoes or coat. Officers located the juvenile in question, and he was transported back to his residence.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of West Sixteenth Street at 9:15 p.m. Wednesday for a reported wellness check. Officers spoke with the person in question who advised that everything was okay and his phone was dead.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of North Howard Avenue at 7:57 p.m. Wednesday for a reported dispute. The caller advised that a man was not permitted to be near her storage units, but officers found that the man was not trespassed from the property and was permitted to be there.

— Officers on patrol were flagged down by a juvenile in the 1000 block of East State Street at 7:38 p.m. Wednesday regarding a reported road rage incident. The caller advised that they were followed into a parking lot, and the driver had exited their vehicle and threatened her. Officers will be investigating the incident.

— Officers responded to the area of North Howard Avenue at 4:40 p.m. Wednesday for a reported domestic dispute. The caller advised that her separated wife started a verbal altercation and was throwing things at her vehicle. When officers arrived, they were advised that she had already left the area, and no physical violence was reported. Officers advised the caller to contact them and if they returned and caused more issues.

— Officers on patrol in the 400 block of West State Street at 4:08 p.m. Wednesday observed a man from an earlier call under an overpass again. Officers spoke with the man and advised him to leave since he was trespassing on posted property. Officers stood by until the man left the area.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of West Wilson Street at 2:11 p.m. Wednesday for a reported parking complaint. The caller advised that a vehicle was blocking a driveway, and officers spoke with the driver, who moved the vehicle.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of West State Street at 11:58 a.m. Tuesday for a reported suspicious person. Officers located the person in question and advised them to move along.

Liverpool Township

— Christopher Barnes, 38, address not provided, was taken into custody and transported to the intersection of state routes 7 and 213 where he was handed over to a deputy from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office for an outstanding warrant out of Jefferson County following a March 27 traffic stop on Parkway Avenue for which he was given a citation and court date for no license plate light and driving under suspension. The vehicle was towed by First Class Towing.

— Michael Russell, 43, address not provided, was placed into custody and transported to the Columbiana County for an outstanding warrant following a March 28 traffic stop on Shadyside Lane for which he was issued citations for driving with no license and fictitious plates. The vehicle was towed by First Class Towing.

— Maria Khym, age and address not provided, was cited and issued a court date for expired tags during a March 29 traffic stop on state Route 7.

— Mark Oiler, age and address not provided, was taken into custody and transported to the Columbiana County Jail for an outstanding warrant following a March 30 traffic stop on Westfield for a speed of 43 mph in a 25-mph zone. When asked for his license, Oiler told the officer he did not have one. The officer advised Oiler to have his sister come get the vehicle to avoid it being towed

— Richard Dailey was issued citations and a court date for speed of 73 mph in a 55-mph zone, no valid license, and expired registration during a March 31 traffic stop on state Route 7. The vehicle was towed by First Class Towing.
