— Officers responded to the 2400 block of East State Street at 10:36 a.m. Saturday for a report of theft. The caller advised that an unknown person had broken into the storage garage, stolen multiple items, and damaged the overhead door. The matter is under investigation.
— Officers assisted the Perry Township Police Department with a DUI at 3:07 a.m. Saturday with an OVI investigation.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 12:40 a.m. Saturday for a reported domestic in progress. The caller advised that she had been in a verbal altercation with her ex-husband over relationship issues. The man had left the residence prior to officers’ arrival, and no injuries were reported.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 11:53 p.m. Saturday for a report of an intoxicated driver. The caller advised that a woman was driving her vehicle intoxicated. Officers observed no signs of intoxication.
— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Cleveland Street at 9:35 p.m. Saturday for a report of suspicious activity. The caller advised there were people looking into cars on the street. Officers spoke with the people in question who advised they were waiting for a friend to get home. The friend’s mother then came outside and let them come inside.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of West State Street at 7:20 p.m. Saturday for a report of criminal damaging. The caller advised that one of the vehicles on his lots was damaged. Officers took photos of a vehicle with cracks in the windshield, and the caller advised that he would review his security cameras.
— Officers responded to the first block of East Second Street at 4:37 p.m. Saturday for a reported juvenile complaint. The caller advised that multiple juveniles were seen throwing rocks at buildings and cars. Officers spoke with the juveniles in question, and one involved admitted to throwing rocks. The juveniles were advised of the possible consequences of damaging property.
— Officers responded to the 2300 block of East State Street at 11:48 a.m. Saturday to assist the fire department with a medical emergency. Officers stood by until they were no longer needed.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of Jennings Avenue at 10:12 a.m. Saturday for a reported 911 hang up call. Officers found that it was a child playing with a cell phone and had accidentally called.
— Officers on patrol in the 400 block of South Lundy Avenue at 2:34 a.m. Saturday observed a suspicious vehicle parked behind a business. Officers checked the vehicle and spoke with the occupant who advised that he was just sleeping for the night and would be heading home to East Liverpool in the morning. Everything checked okay.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of South Broadway Avenue at 2:24 a.m. Saturday for a reported 911 hang-up call. Officers checked the area and everything appeared to be okay.
— Officers on patrol located an unoccupied vehicle parked in the parking lot of a business in the 1000 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 12:39 a.m. Saturday. Officers checked on the vehicle, and it appeared to have just been parked there for the night.
— Officers responded to the 200 block of East Fourth Street at 12:21 a.m. Saturday for a reported runaway juvenile. Officers gathered information and entered the juvenile as missing.
— Officers responded to a business in the 2800 block of East State Street at 11:26 p.m. Friday for a report of shoplifting and criminal trespass. Officers were advised by asset protection that two people, Kristen Trussel, 28, Canton, and Kayla Bake, 31, Canton, had been observed shoplifting and that both had previously been trespassed from the store. Trussel and Bake were taken into custody charged with theft and criminal trespass and transported to the Columbiana County Jail.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 10:52 p.m. Friday for a report of suspicious activity. The caller advised that there was a group of people around a truck when the lights started flashing and that they then walked into a nearby business. Officers located the vehicle and checked that all doors were secured. Officers also checked video footage in the area, and nobody was observed around the truck when the lights started flashing.
— Officers responded to the 2500 block of East State Street at 9:20 p.m. Friday for a report of a suspicious vehicle. The caller advised that a vehicle was circling the parking lot and nearly struck two customers. Officers spoke with the driver, who advised that they had been circling a light post while on the phone.
— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 2:51 p.m. Friday regarding road rage. They advised that another driver had started yelling at him and come up to his car before driving off and wanted officers to be aware of the incident.
— Jacob Bickley, Salem, was cited for expired registration after a routine registration check on his vehicle on North Ellsworth Avenue showed its registration to be expired at 12:57 p.m. Friday. During the stop Bickley became belligerent with officers and was given a disorderly conduct warning.
