Perry Township

— Officers responded to the Salem Police Department at 3:07 a.m. Monday for a report of dog bite that occurred in the 1800 block of Hunt Road. Officers were advised that a juvenile was visiting a friend when their dog scratched and bit the juvenile on the right forearm, puncturing the skin. Photos were taken of the injuries, and the mother said she was taking the juvenile to the hospital for treatment.

— Officers responded to the 2300 block of Goshen Road at 12:15 a.m. Monday for a report of a suicidal man. The man advised that he was having a hard time but did not have any intent to harm himself. Officers spoke with the man and advised him to contact his doctor in the morning.

— Officers responded to the 1200 block of Depot Road at 10:44 p.m. Sunday for a medical call. Officers assisted EMTs until no longer needed.

— Officers responded to the intersection of Newgarden Avenue and Carey Road at 10 p.m. Sunday to assist the Ohio State Highway Patrol with traffic control for an accident. Officers assisted until no longer needed.

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Beechwood Road at 8:54 p.m. Friday for a reported domestic complaint. The caller advised her husband was breaking and throwing things. Officers spoke with both parties and found that no violence had occurred between the couple and that the matter was civil in nature. The caller did leave for the night.

— Officers responded to the railroad crossing at South Lincoln Avenue at 5:03 p.m. Friday for a report of two dirt bikes riding on the tracks. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate them.

— Mindy Jenkins, 40, Salem, was taken into custody and transported to the Columbiana County Jail for OVI after his vehicle on South Lincoln Avenue was observed traveling in excess of the speed limit at 12:39 a.m. Friday.

— Officers responded to the 1800 block of Depot Road at 11:15 a.m. Thursday to assist adult parole with a warrant. Officers did not locate the man at the residence at the time.

— Officers responded to Southeast Elementary School at 9:36 a.m. Thursday to speak with a juvenile and her father regarding an altercation the juvenile had with her mother prior to school. The juvenile advised her mother tried to tackle her and choke her after their argument, and the juvenile then contacted her father who responded to the residence. The mother allegedly said she was going to smack both of them and smacked the wall beside her daughter’s head with her hand, and the father and children then left the residence and went to school. Officers had the father and daughter respond to the police department for statements, and both gave statements but refused to cooperate with any charges on the mother. Officers did not observe any physical marks on the juvenile and the juvenile stated she was not hurt. The father advised he only wanted to file a report.

— Officers responded to the area of East Pidgeon Road at 8:28 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a reckless driver. Officers were able to locate the vehicle and initiate a traffic stop and did not detect any signs of impairment.

— Officers responded to the 1700 block of Harding Avenue at 5:24 p.m. Wednesday for a reported neighbor dispute. Officers spoke with all parties and determined the matter to be civil.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of Benton Road at 9:37 p.m. April 16, for a reported theft. The caller advised that her phone was stolen and swapped with a different phone and was unsure of where or when the phone went missing.

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of West Perry Street at 4:40 p.m. April 16 for a report of a possible protection order violation. The caller advised that she had filed for a protection order against her boyfriend, and his family members continued to message her. Due to the timing of the protection order the ex-boyfriend had not been served with the order yet, and officers advised him of the order and to cease all contact with the caller.

— Officers responded to the area of Pembrooke Drive at 4:26 p.m. April 15 for a report of a suspicious person. The caller advised that the person knocked on her door and was inquiring about her energy consumption. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the person.

— Officers spoke to a person by phone at 2:15 a.m. April 15 regarding a no-contact order. The caller advised her boyfriend and their roommate were arrested for domestic violence last night, and she had bailed her boyfriend out and he was now home at the residence. The caller advised that both had no contact orders set against the other by the court, and wanted to know what happens when the roommate gets out of jail and returns to the residence. The caller was advised of several options and wanted a report to be on file.
