Lisbon
— An officer responded to the 200 block of Spruce Street at 11:05 a.m. Sunday for two dogs chained outside. The detective was unable to make contact with anyone at the residence. The police department contacted the dog warden and left a message for the Humane Society.
— An officer responded to a report of a car door open in the 300 block of East Chestnut Street at 9:59 a.m. Sunday. The detective spoke to the homeowner, who stated she must have forgotten to shut the door and the door was shut for her.
— Police responded to an alarm drop at the Lisbon Veterinary Clinic on Race Road at 5:27 a.m. on Saturday. They found all doors and windows to be secure.
— Police responded to the 100 block of South Market Street for the report of an opened door at 8:39 a.m. Jan. 11. Upon arrival, an officer found an unsecured exterior door with no visible signs of forced entry that appeared to have opened due to high winds. Contact was attempted with the landlord.
— Police responded to Greentree Place investigating a report of a “loud bang like a gunshot and that a car had sped off” at 7:42 p.m. Jan. 10. Nothing was located in the area and police spoke to a female in her vehicle who had not heard anything.
— At Continuing Healthcare of Lisbon, a caller stated they were being blindfolded and held against their will at 5:26 p.m. Jan. 10. Police spoke to a man in a wheelchair who said he was being made to take medication and did not want to be there. A supervisor told police the man is a resident at the facility and was then able to calm him down.
— A landlord of a building in the 300 block of South Lincoln Avenue reported at 3:35 p.m. Jan. 10 that his female tenant had a male living with her that was not on the lease. After leaving a 24-hour notice, the landlord arrived to find the door nailed shut, causing damage to the door and frame. He said he is in the process of evicting the tenants but wanted to have a report on file.
— A man in the 400 block of East Lincoln Way told police at 10:38 a.m. Jan. 10 that he had pulled down phone and cable wires while driving his truck after turning down Harrison Street to avoid an ambulance on Chestnut Street. AT&T was notified and barricades were put up to stop traffic until the wires were fixed. No damage was done to the house the wires were connected to.
— Police responded to a telephone report of telecommunications harassment at 9:14 a.m. Jan. 10. Police spoke with all parties involved and told them they could be charged with telecommunications harassment if the alleged behavior continued.
— Officers assisted Stark County deputies with a shoplifting case allegedly involving a resident in the 200 block of East Pine Street at 8:46 p.m. Jan. 9. The resident could not be located but a cell phone number was acquired and all information was passed on to Stark County dispatch.
— An officer was dispatched to the area of state Route 154, near state Route 11, at 8:11 p.m. Jan. 9 to assist Ohio State Highway Patrol with a pedestrian walking within the roadway. The officer stood by until no further assistance was needed.
— An officer assisted a semi-truck stuck on St Jacobs Logtown Road at 9:50 a.m. Jan. 9 by stopping traffic and getting the truck back on the road.
— An officer responded to the Columbiana County Courthouse parking lot at 1:45 p.m. Jan. 8 for a report of a suspicious male. Contact was made and it was determined that the man was waiting for a ride following a court hearing.
— Officers provided traffic control for a disabled vehicle at the intersection of North Beaver Street and Chestnut Street at 10:27 p.m. Jan. 4, until a friend brought gasoline and the vehicle was removed from the road.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of West Chestnut Street for a report of a woman having difficulty breathing at 6:50 p.m. Jan. 3. Police stood by until emergency medical services transported the woman to the hospital.
— Officers assisted Columbiana County Sheriff’s deputies at the Roseland Commons apartment building with a schizophrenic juvenile who was acting erratically at 5:17 a.m. Jan. 1. Officers were able to calm the juvenile down until emergency medical services transported the juvenile to the hospital.
— Police responded to a two-vehicle crash in the area of state Route 45 near McDonalds at 7:14 p.m. Dec. 31. It was determined there were no injuries in the crash and Ohio State Highway Patrol took over the incident.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of East Lincoln Way at 12:34 p.m. Dec. 31 and spoke to a man who presented a large sword in a bamboo sheath that he said he had found in the road. The blade was transported back to the police department lost and found.
— Police were dispatched to Premier Bank at 3:45 p.m. Dec. 29 to follow up on a report of fraud.
— Officers responded to West Washington Street and South Lincoln Avenue at 11:00 p.m. Dec. 28 for a report of juveniles riding a minibike in the middle of the road. The juveniles were told they cannot ride in any road and then walked the minibike back home.
— While on patrol, police located a suspicious vehicle parked at the park-and-ride off state Route 154 at 1:38 a.m. Dec. 28. The occupants of the vehicle said they were sleeping in their vehicle for the night.
— An officer met a Columbiana County Sheriff’s deputy and responded to the 300 block of West Pine Street for a possible stolen vehicle at 3:46 p.m. Dec. 27. The vehicle did not match the description and police were unable to make contact with anyone at the residence.
— Police were told at 3:08 p.m. Dec. 27 that an extra watch was being placed on the clothing bin at the Lisbon Church of the Nazarene because of someone sleeping and defecating inside the bin. Police checked the bin several times but never located anyone inside of it.
— Officers were dispatched to the area of South Lincoln Way at 9:19 p.m. Dec. 26 for reports of a man lying in the grass median along the road. Police found a man unconscious and impaired with a bicycle, an open bottle of vodka, and a closed alcoholic beverage can. Police awakened the man, who requested emergency medical services, which then transported the man to the hospital.
— An officer responded to the area of Jackson Street, near state Route 154 for a report of a reckless driver at 6:54 p.m. Dec. 26. A traffic stop was conducted and everything was determined to be fine.
