Salem

— Officers responded to the 300 block of West Eighth Street at 7:40 a.m. Friday for a reported parking complaint. The caller advised that a vehicle was blocking his driveway. Officers spoke with the owner and the vehicle was moved.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Eighth Street at 3:35 a.m. Friday for a reported prowler. The caller advised a woman was banging on their door waking the family up. Officers located the person in question, Ariel Durham, 37, Salem, at the neighbor’s residence, which she had previously been trespassed from. They were placed in custody and transported to the Columbiana County Jail charged with criminal trespass.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 1:46 a.m. Friday for a noise complaint. Officers spoke with two people sitting by the dumpster and advised them to keep the noise down.

— Officers responded to the 700 block of Arch Street at 11:36 p.m. Thursday for a wellness check. The callers advised their son was putting cigarettes out on his arm and gave himself a black eye. Officers spoke with the son, and they were later transported to the hospital by EMT.

— Officers on patrol found a person in Centennial Park after hours at 11 p.m. Thursday. Officers spoke with the person in question who advised that they had recently moved to the city and were not aware of the park hours. They left without issue.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 8:11 p.m. Thursday regarding bullying taking place at the high school and threats being made to her juvenile son. The necessary information was gathered, and they were given options for handling the incident. They were advised that the matter would be forwarded to the city’s school resource officer and the school to address the situation.

— Officers responded to the area of South Lincoln Avenue at 7:34 p.m. Thursday for a reported reckless operator. The caller advised that a vehicle was tailgating them and trying to pass on a double yellow line. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

— Officers responded to the 700 block of Aetna Street at 2:48 p.m. Thursday for a reported suspicious vehicle. Officers located the vehicle and everything checked okay.

Sheriff’s Office

— A deputy at 10:10 p.m. Saturday assisted Ohio State Highway Patrol Post 15 with a reckless driver on Sprucevale Road heading towards Rogers, with the blue Chevy truck reportedly behind the deputy as he was clearing another call. The deputy proceeded behind the vehicle and saw two separate lane violations over the yellow line. A traffic stop was conducted on Sprucevale Road just south of Carmel Achor Road, with the deputy handing the operating a vehicle impaired investigation over to Post 15.

— A deputy was dispatched at 9:53 p.m. Saturday to Rose Drive, Center Township for multiple 911 hangup calls. The homeowner said her 4-year-old son had her cell phone.

— A woman on Slater Road, Butler Township reported at 6:50 p.m. Saturday that juveniles were shooting shotguns into the air in a field next to her property. When a deputy arrived, she said the juveniles left in a vehicle.

— A 911 hangup call was reported at 11:11 p.m. Friday at the KOA on Winona Road, Butler Township. Deputies spoke with a man there from Vinton County and he said everything was fine.

— Deputies were dispatched at 10:10 p.m. Friday to Depot Road, Center Township for a domestic violence report. All parties involved signed a refusal and one party left the residence.

— A man on Spillway Road, Hanover Township, reported at 6:47 p.m. Friday that his ex-wife, Plymouth Street, Hanoverton, did not let him have visitation with their 10-year-old son Friday.

— A caller from Cherokee Rose Residential reported at 4:47 p.m. Friday that a 15-year-old juvenile who lives at one of their residences on Meadow Wood Drive, Butler Township, was threatening staff and trying to leave. The juvenile’s probation officer was on scene also. Deputies arrived and staff said everything was fine and they just wanted a report on file.

— A man on Unity Line Road, Unity Township reported at 10 p.m. Thursday that two people in a Dodge Ram truck were attempting to steal equipment from the nearby field. He yelled at them and they left. The equipment is owned by Keystone Clearwater Solutions LLC, State College, Pa. A deputy checked the area, but didn’t find anyone.

— A welfare check was requested at 9:21 p.m. Thursday on North Pleasant Drive, Unity Township. A deputy checked, but had no contact with anyone at the residence.

— A deputy was dispatched at 8:23 p.m. Thursday to Metz Road, Fairfield Township for a domestic violence report. All parties involved signed a refusal.

— A deputy was dispatched at 6:14 p.m. Thursday to state Route 14, Salem Township for a person trespassing, with the Ohio State Highway Patrol on scene. The deputy spoke to a woman from West Township who said she was walking to Sebring. The deputy spoke to the property owner who said the woman was told multiple times to leave after she was told she could not use their phone. She was told by the deputy not to come on the property again. She was given a courtesy transport to a relative’s residence in Sebring.

— A domestic violence incident was reported at 3:53 p.m. Thursday on Bye Road, Middleton Township. All parties involved signed a refusal and one party left the residence.

— A resident on Church Street, New Waterford reported at 2:56 p.m. Thursday that a man from West Washington Street, Lisbon was continuously harassing her over a dog and property. She was advised how to obtain a protection order.

— A protection order violation was reported at 10:54 p.m. Thursday on Lisbon Road, Center Township where the caller told a deputy the other person put a hold on the mail at the primary residence and when the mail was stopped, it also stopped the caller’s mail. The caller received several packages on Thursday belonging to the other person due to the hold being past date. The packages were sent back with the postman. No charges were requested. The caller just wanted the other person told that he cannot stop all household mail. The deputy contacted the other person and told him the information.

— A welfare check was requested at 7:01 a.m. Thursday on state Route 45, Salem Township. The caller reported hearing something outside and wanted their property checked for persons or damage. A deputy checked the perimeter and out buildings and everything appeared secure with no evidence of any suspicious activity.

Highway Patrol

— Lindsey N. Grimm, 36, West Main Street, Salineville, was cited for failure to yield after her eastbound truck pulled from a driveway and struck a northbound car driving by Denise L. Whittaker, 66, Wood Street, Salineville at 5:47 p.m,. April 28 on state Route 39, Salineville. No injuries were reported.

— A 13-year-old boy was cited for failure to yield after pulling a Bobcat out of a drive and striking a vehicle driven on Churchill Road, Elkrun Township at 3:24 p.m. April 26 by Kaylee Kelly, 25, North Market Street, Lisbon. No injuries were reported.

— No injuries were reported when a westbound semi driven by Michael L. Otis, 37, Lansing, Mich., had a mechanical issue that caused a fire to break out within the rear right tire assembly of the trailer at 4:25 p.m. April 24 on state Route 172, Hanover Township.

— Steven J. Knight, 52, Hull Road, Salineville, was cited for failure to control after his southbound truck on state Route 517, Center Township, at 3:42 p.m. April 24 traveled off of the road, struck a culvert, struck a guardrail, struck a mailbox and struck a signpost. No injury was reported.

— Parker Derry, 20, Salem Alliance Road, Salem, was cited for failure to control after his southbound truck traveled off of the west side of Valley Road, Butler Township at 2:10 a.m. April 22, went off of the road and struck a mailbox, a utility pole and tree. A minor possible injury was reported, with Damascus EMS responding but not transporting.

— Annie J. Lenigar, 37, Pine Lake Road, Beloit, was cited for assured clear distance after her eastbound vehicle struck another eastbound vehicle driven by Tina M. Mull, 60, East Euclid Avenue, Salem, at 5:51 p.m. April 21 on U.S. Route 62, Knox Township. No injuries were reported.

— Kyle A. Celebes, 26, Unity Line Road, New Waterford, was cited for failure to control after his vehicle traveled off of Rochester Road at 5:33 p.m. April 19 in Unity Township, striking a mailbox and utility pole. No injury was reported.

— Eric Aliff, 19, Georgetown Road, Salem, was cited for failure to yield after backing from a driveway onto state Route 170, Middleton Township, and being struck by a southbound vehicle driven by Timothy L. Pancake 65, Pancake Clarkson Road, Middleton Township, who suffered a possible minor injury at 1:55 p.m. April 17. Negley Fire/EMS responded, but did not transport anyone.
