Valley gets $270K in grants to connect opioid survivors with help

Agencies in the Mahoning Valley will receive more than $270,000 in state grants to help connect survivors of opioid addiction to treatment and recovery programs. Career center's time change to provide more lab experience

LISBON — The Columbiana County Career and Technical Center has started the new school year with the new class time change that is expected to give students more lab time. The change was approved by the board of education earlier this year, effective for this school year. As a result, instead of beginning the day at 7:50 a.m. classes are now starting at 7:45 a.m., resulting in an additional five minutes per day, which translates to a new daily career lab time of 179 minutes. Humane society seeks information in case of abandoned dogs

SALEM — The Columbiana County Humane Society is asking the public for any information they may have about dogs abandoned on the side of the road in cages.
