ELKTON (WKBN) — A historic Columbiana County landmark is entering a new chapter. A barn along Route 154 in Elkton that dates back to the 1830s is under new ownership. Most people know the property as Lock 24, but now it’s called the 1830 Gathering Place. The building has seen many businesses come and go throughout the years. Wellsville council looks at cost to bury cremains

WELLSVILLE – Village council is considering added a cost to bury cremains in an occupied grave. Council members recently agreed to have an ordinance drafted that would charge $350 on top of the grave opening and closing costs to bury cremains in an occupied grave at Springhill Cemetery. Council member Mike Lombardozzi told council members that currently if someone wants to bury the cremains of a relative in the occupied grave of another relative, they are only charged the fee for opening and closing the grave. LISBON — A Washingtonville man found not guilty by reason of insanity in 2024 for felonious assault and other charges will remain on conditional release in the community. Commissioners approve property tax relief

LISBON — Columbiana County commissioners agreed Wednesday to give taxpayers who own and occupy their homes a break of 2.5 % on next year’s property tax bill. SALEM — The board of education approved a membership agreement to join the Northeast 8 Conference in 2027 in its June 15 meeting. The board of education voted unanimously to approve an agreement to join the conference with membership participation set to begin in the 2027-2028 school year.
