SHERIFF REPORTS

— Deputies were dispatched at 11:19 p.m. Saturday to a Leslie Road address in Madison Township for a domestic, learning one party fled the scene prior to deputies arriving. While conducting the investigation, another person, Ryan E. Williams, 44, Leslie Road, Lisbon, was charged with obstructing official business for allegedly injecting himself into the investigation while he was a bystander at the scene. He’s already been arraigned in Columbiana County Municipal Court, with a pretrial set in September.

— An alarm was reported at 3:36 a.m. June 18 at Dollar General, state Route 172, Hanover Township, near Guilford Lake. The key holder arrived, the interior of the building was checked and found secure.

SALEM

–Possible theft of services was reported in the 1200 block of Southeast Boulevard at 8:08 a.m. Wednesday. The caller advised that a wire was connected to their cable box leading towards another residence. Further investigation showed a cable company was connecting a new line there, and no theft had occurred.

–A person who was pink slipped reported left the emergency room at 4:53 a.m. Wednesday. Officers spoke with the person in question, and they agreed to go back.

–A dispute was reported in the 200 block of Park Avenue at 8:29 p.m. Tuesday. Officers spoke with the parties involved and were advised that the dispute was over social media posts about a relationship. Officers advised them to have no further contact with one another, and both parties were trespassed from the other’s residence.

–Officers spoke with a patient at a medical facility in the 200 block of Continental Drive at 7:15 p.m. about them not being permitted to leave the building. After speaking with facility staff officers advised the patient to speak with their guardian about the matter as they were the only person who could permit them to leave the building.

–A person was reported searching through a garbage can in the 300 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 4:31 p.m. Tuesday. Officers spoke with the man who advised he was searching for food and declined any assistance when offered.

–Officers assisted a stuck semi-truck in the area of North Howard Avenue and West Third Street at 12:55 p.m. Tuesday.

–Theft was reported at a business in the 100 block of West State Street at 11:28 a.m. Tuesday. The caller advised that a woman had taken several items without paying and that they wanted them trespassed from the store. Officers had the manager complete the trespass form and will attempt to locate the person in question to notify them.

–A Salem Police Department cruiser driven southbound on Broadway Avenue was struck by a vehicle driven Eastbound on East State Street by Matthew Stoudt, Salem, when it failed to stop at a red light at 10:10 a.m. Tuesday. The Ohio State Highway Patrol will be handling the crash.

–Officers on patrol located an abandoned bicycle at Centennial Park at 7:42 a.m. Tuesday. The bike was transported to the police department.

–A suspicious substance was reported in the men’s restroom at Centennial Park at 7:38 a.m. Tuesday. Officers found that an unknown person had dumped the strawberry jelly all over the interior of the restroom, and had dispatch advised the parks department of the situation.
