State report cards released for 2-25-2026 school year

The Ohio Department of Education released its 2025-2026 School Report Cards on Tuesday. Districts and schools receive overall ratings of 1-5 stars in half-star increments. A three-star rating meets state standards, a five significantly exceeds them, and a one “needs significant support to meet state standards.” Districts are also rated on six components: achievement, progress, gap closing, early literacy, graduation, and college, career, workforce, military readiness. Three planned power outages are slated to occur tonight, Thursday and Sunday, weather permitting, while Ohio Edison conducts work to improve system reliability. A deputy spoke with both parties involved and advised them how to proceed. — A man on West Main Street, Washingtonville reported at 7:03 p.m. Saturday that his 10-year-old daughter was being unruly and locked him out of the residence.
