SALEM -- Some city residents will experience scheduled power outages while Ohio Edison conducts system maintenance.
Three planned power outages are slated to occur tonight, Thursday and Sunday, weather permitting, while Ohio Edison conducts work to improve system reliability.
The outages scheduled for tonight and Thursday are expected to last approximately seven minutes and begin at 7 p.m. Affected residents have been notified at the phone number registered for their electric account. In the event of inclement weather, the outage originally scheduled for this evening will be rescheduled for 7 p.m. on Thursday, and the outage originally scheduled for Thursday will instead be conducted at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
The outage planned for Sunday will be conducted at 4 a.m. and last approximately 15 minutes. It will affect the same residents as the preceding outages. In the event of inclement weather Sunday, the outage will be rescheduled for 4 a.m. on Monday.
