Stonemetz golf may be at an end

Editor: Twenty years ago, Jerry Bailey and Dale Snyder talked about doing something to help East Palestine Social Concern raise money. In 1998, the Stonemetz Golf Outing was started. In 2014, Dale passed away and Jerry continued the project, with some help from George Montgomery. Jerry made all of the contacts for donations and hole sponsors. He spent several months getting everything ready. Over 20 years, the Stonemetz raised $114,107 for the needy of East Palestine. Center’s need for a fire levy

Editor: On Feb. 13, 2016, Center Township suffered the loss of its building and all of its equipment, except for the backhoe and police cruiser, to a fire. The Board of Center Township went to work with the help of our community and completely rebuilt our township. Now we have a wonderful new building. But we have a new problem now — the funding of Center Township’s share of cost for the Lisbon Fire Department, which we share with Elkrun Township and Village of Lisbon.
