CADIZ — The Beaver Local boys golf team gets to play another week.

The Beavers finished third at the Division II boys sectional Monday at Cadiz Country Club.

Junior Braxton Hickman was fifth (77), sophomore Britton Hickman was 15th (85), junior Mikey Druschel was 22nd (87), junior Owen Hill was 26th (89) and sophomore Andrew Wiegand was 27th (91).

The top four teams and top four individuals not on a qualifying team advance to the district tournament Sept. 30 at Eagle Sticks Golf Club south of Zanesville.

The top two teams at districts and top two individuals not on a qualifying team advance to the state tournament.

Warriors third in Massillon

MASSILLON — South Range finished first and West Branch third to advance out of the Division II boys golf sectional at The Elms on Monday.

The top three teams and top three individuals not on a qualifying team advance to the district tournament Oct. 1 at Windmill Lakes in Ravenna.

South Range finished first with a 306. Waynedale was second with a 321 and West Branch third with a 322, finishing 11 strokes ahead of Marlington for the final district berth.

West Branch’s all-senior lineup featured three top 10 finishers.

Jase Libb led the Warriors by placing fifth (77). Lane Allison and Dominic Brenner tied for 10th (81s), while Kaleb Votaw was 17th (83). Walker Poorbaugh was 53rd (104).

The top three teams at districts and three two individuals not on a qualifying team advance to the state tournament.
