To the editor: On Feb. 18 the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. In an open letter, BSA National Chair Jim Turley claims this action was taken “to ensure we can equitably compensate all victims of past abuse in our programs.” The focus of the country and national media is on the sexual abuse cases brought against the BSA. As an organization, we have failed – any instance of abuse is against the values of scouting and goes against both our oath and our law. To the editor: Thank you for publishing the op-ed written by Connie Schultz titled "What a State of our Union." This particular op-ed is a very good illustration of the sickness which prevails with those who hold an extreme hatred for President Trump. Upset with all of the dumping and pollution

To the editor: I am writing in connection to the prevailing pollution of Negley's drinking water, to its air pollution and to dump dust which lands on Negley houses, vehicles and play areas for children off and on for the last 20 years. Also to the destruction of Native American (Indian) burial grounds and to more ancient peoples and living areas. Due to the dump, springs with excellent drinking water have been polluted and destroyed by this harmful dump. To the editor: I’m writing to set the record straight. I’ve about had it with all the backlash President Trump has taken. He tried to get Obamacare repealed but got all kinds of flack about it. There has been so much damage done by Obamacare and all you have is a bunch of blowhards saying everyone needs health care. How big should government be?

To the editor: The size of government can vary to almost any degree. The kings of old had total ownership and power over absolutely everything as does a modern day dictator. This may be efficient for a small group if the dictator is rational and benevolent. But most modern-day countries are too complicated for one person to control everything.
