— Officers responded to the Giant Eagle parking lot at 3:24 a.m. Thursday for a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle was sitting in the area and not committing any violations. The driver was advised of the complaint.

— Officers responded to the 2700 block of East State Street at 3:27 a.m. Thursday for a speak with officer report. The caller advised he had put diesel fuel into his gas truck, officers advised the man he would need to have the vehicle towed.

— Officers responded to the 2500 block of Lexington Avenue at 9:42 p.m. Wednesday for a speak with officer report. Officers advised the caller of their options.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of Roosevelt Avenue at 7:46 p.m. Wednesday to assist the fire department with an aggressive man having a medical issue. Officers stood by while the man was willingly transported by the fire department.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of South Broadway Avenue at 7:38 p.m. Wednesday. The caller advised that her vehicle had broken down and they were leaving the vehicle. Officers observed the vehicle to be legally parked.

— Officers responded to the 2800 block of East State Street at 5:54 p.m. Wednesday for a report of an animal left inside a vehicle. The caller advised a puppy had been locked inside the car for two hours. Officers observed the puppy, with the driver’s side window cracked open, and the engine cold. Officers attempted to contact the owner of the store but were unsuccessful. Due to the temperatures outside and inside the vehicle officers gained entry to the vehicle and recovered the puppy, which was transported to the police department and picked up by the humane agent.

— A man Michael Souers, 36, Salem, turned himself in on an active warrant out of the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office at 5:48 p.m. Wednesday. Officers took Souers into custody and transported them to the Columbiana County Jail.

— Officers responded to the 2500 block of Lexington Avenue at 4:58 p.m. Wednesday for a reported domestic in progress. Officers spoke with both parties and a witness that was present, who advised that it was only a verbal argument with nothing physical taking place. The man advised that he did not live at the residence and was leaving.

— Officers on patrol in the 100 block of Broadway Avenue at 3:37 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a dog at large. Officers located the owner and returned the animal at a nearby business.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of Pennsylvania Avenue at 2:37 p.m. Wednesday for a hit and skip. An unknown driver backed into a vehicle driven by Chardia Lightfoot, Austintown, when both vehicles were pulling into a parking lot, before leaving the scene without stopping.

— Officers spoke to a man at the police department at 2:16 p.m. Wednesday who was concerned a person might have made unfounded complaints about him to the humane agent and wanted to stop future complaints. Officers advised the caller to follow up with the humane agent since the complaints were not being made with the police department.

— Officers on patrol in the area of Waterworth Memorial Park at 10:33 p.m. Thursday observed a vehicle in the park after hours. Officers advised the driver of park hours and sent them on their way.

— Officers on patrol observed a vehicle parked inside Centennial Park after hours at 10:25 p.m. Thursday. Officers spoke with the occupants who advised they were just eating Taco Bell. Officers advised them of park hours, and they left without incident.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of East Euclid Street at 7:20 p.m. Thursday for a medical call on a man who had taken two bottles of medication. EMT arrived and transported the man to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital Main.

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 6:58 p.m. Thursday for a wellness check. Officers located the woman outside city limits, and everything checked okay.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of Jones Drive at 3:55 p.m. Thursday for a reported structure fire. Officers provided traffic control for the fire department until no longer needed.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of Barclay Avenue at 4:03 p.m. Thursday for a report of a possible scam. Officers spoke with the caller about the matter advising them that it was a scam, and of their options for handling the situation.

— The school resource officer was advised by the guidance counselor of a male student that was experiencing some mental health issues at 1:25 p.m. Thursday. Officers and the guidance counselor spoke with the student and advised them of the issues. They advised they would get him the help he needs and get him back into counseling.

— A debit card was turned into the police department at 8:48 a.m. Thursday. The card was taken and placed into the lost and found department.
