Perry Township

— Officers responded to the 400 block of South Broadway Avenue at 11:03 p.m. Saturday to assist Salem officers with a man branishing a firearm after being kicked out of a business. Officers located the person and assisted until no longer needed.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of Plymouth Place at 2:52 p.m. Saturday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the resident who advised that he was okay, and nothing was needed.

— Officers responded to the 1200 block of Beechwood Road at 10:01 a.m. Saturday for a report of branches on power lines. Officers spoke with the homeowner who advised there were no sparks and he still had power. The homeowner advised that he had someone coming to remove the branches.

— Officers responded to the Goshen Road near state Route 45 for a report of a dead animal in the roadway. Officers checked the area but could only locate a shoe in the roadway.

— Officers responded to Michigan Boulevard between Garfield Avenue and Main Street at 6:56 a.m. Saturday or a report of a tree blocking the roadway. Officers discovered a tree was blown over by the wind and was blocking both lanes of travel. The road department responded and removed the tree from the roadway.

— Officers responded to the 1700 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 11:22 p.m. Friday for a reported hit and skip in the Fresh Mark parking lot. Officers located a white ford fusion with minor functional damage to the front passenger side. Officers spoke with the owner.

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Prospect Street at 8:48 p.m. Friday for a wellness check on a resident there. The caller advised officers that her friend had recently had surgery and she had not heard from them in a few days. Officers advised everything was okay and she did not need any assistance at that time.

— Officers on patrol came across a large tree down in the 1500 block of Egypt Road at 4:08 p.m. Friday. Officers blocked off the road until the road department could remove the tree from the roadway.

— Officers responded to state Route 45 near the Salem Golf Club at 3:26 p.m. Friday for a report of a tree that had fallen onto the road and knocked down telephone lines. Officers provided traffic control while some concerned citizens helped push the tree out of the roadway. Once the tree and all the debris were removed from the roadway.

— Officers on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Perry Grange Road near state Route 344 at 1:04 p.m. Officers identified a passenger as Josiah Laughlin, 24, Rogers, placing him under arrest for active warrant and transferred him to the custody of the Columbiana County Sherrif’s Office. Suspected narcotics were located inside the vehicle and were turned over to the Columbiana County Drug Enforcement Task Force, and the driver Michael Heverly, 37, Salem, was cited for driving under his suspension. Sinsley towing responded to remove the vehicle and Heverly was given a courtesy transport back to his residence.
