— A woman at 11:30 a.m. Thursday questioned whether a person faking their death and getting money for their cremation would be a theft offense.

— A woman reported at 4:40 p.m. Jan. 3 that someone unknown to her filed for unemployment and a credit card using her identity.

— Daniel Shafer, no age or address listed, was cited for driving under suspension and fictitious plates following a traffic stop on South Main Street at 5:22 p.m. Jan. 2.

— A Southern Terrace trailer park resident reported at 10:31 a.m. Jan. 2 ongoing criminal mischief.

— Keith Whorley, 26, no address listed, was charged with failure to comply and obstructing official business after officers conducted a traffic stop for following to closely and he allegedly took back his identification in a manic state and drove off. Officers pursued his vehicle, but terminated it due to safety reasons. Salem officers ultimately detained him and turned him over to Columbiana officers.

— Officers assisted EMS on an unattended death scene in the 100 block of North Main Street at 1:21 p.m. Jan. 1 and found an elderly woman had passed away with nothing suspicious apparent.

— Kyle Lucas, 29, Leetonia, was cited for driving under an OVI suspension following a traffic stop in the parking lot of a 200 block East state Route 14 at 8:39 p.m. Dec. 30.

— Deanna Britter, no age listed, East Liverpool, was cited for expired registration and no driver’s license following a traffic stop on South Avenue at 11:18 p.m. Dec. 29.

— Christopher Cole Bowersock, 41, and Wendi R. Bowersock, 47, no address listed, were charged with tampering with evidence following a traffic stop on Camelot Drive at 8:21 p.m. Dec. 29 in which they allegedly attempted to conceal fentanyl on their persons.

— Jennifer E. Perrot, 51, no address listed, was arrested on an unspecified drug charge after officers responded to a 100 block North Main Street business at 5:57 p.m. Dec. 23 in reference to a suspicious person.
