Sheriff’s Office

— Deputies responded to the 7000 block Rose Drive in Center Township at 8:45 a.m. Sunday in reference to a woman having mental health issues and wanted to be transported to a hospital.

— Deputies responded to a 4000 block Butler Grange Road home in Butler Township at 3:29 a.m. Sunday in reference to an assault. Deputies spoke with the victim and collected evidence of injuries. Warrants for aggravated menacing and assault were issued for two individuals who had already left the scene.

— Deputies checked on a shooting complaint in the 45000 block of Y & O Road in Madison Township at 8:17 p.m. Saturday. Deputies checked the area but did not locate anyone.

— A medical call involving a bee sting was reported in the 7400 block of Elmwood Avenue in Center Township at 6:43 p.m. Saturday. EMT transported the person in question to the hospital.

— Deputies assisted the Ohio State Highway Patrol with a disturbed person in the 28000 block of state Route 172 in Hanover Township at 2:03 a.m. Saturday. The person in question was transported to East Liverpool City Hospital by Northstar EMS.

— A protection order violation was reported in the 33000 block of Votaw Boulevard in Hanover Township at 3:56 p.m. Friday. Robert Borts, Hanover Township, was taken into custody for violating a protection order and transported to the Columbiana County Jail.

Leetonia

— Officers responded to a Pine Street home at 3:12 p.m. Monday in reference to someone suffering a mental health issue. The person agreed to go to the Salem hospital.

— Samanthia Miller was cited for dog at large after her dog was observed running loose on Main Street at 10:23 a.m. Thursday.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of Chestnut Street at 9:45 p.m. Friday where a resident requested help getting her dog in the house. Officers attempted to get the dog up, but it would not move and appeared to be old, heavy and exhausted. Officers then tried using treats, which made the dog move a little, but not much. The officers then just picked the dog up and carefully moved it inside the house.

— Corina McVay was cited for expired registration following a traffic stop on Butcher Road west of Sleepy Hollow at 8:24 p.m. Friday

— A person to be removed was reported in the first block of Pine Street at 2:48 p.m. Wednesday. The caller advised that their stepdaughter was on their property causing a scene. Officers advised the stepdaughter that they were no longer welcome at the property and that if they needed to retrieve their belongings, their mother was willing to meet them at a neutral location.

— Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle involved in an ongoing stolen vehicle investigation on Main Street at 10:34 p.m. June 9. The passenger, Seraphim Laws, Leetonia, was transported to the Columbiana County Jail and the driver, Tyler Myers, was cited for no operator’s license.

Columbiana

— An officer responded to the 1000 block of Fairfield Avenue at 9:10 p.m. June 1 in reference to an identity theft report. An investigation for a possible extortion charge is underway.

Salem

— A juvenile complaint was reported in the 1400 block of East Tenth Street at 10:25 a.m. Tuesday. Officers were provided video footage of three juveniles in the caller’s driveway during the late hours of the night. Officers were unable to make a positive identification and advised the caller there would be an extra patrol in the area.

— Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle being driven by a woman without a valid license in the area of North Lundy Avenue and East Fourth Street at 9:17 p.m. Monday. K-9 Fero alerted to the presence of narcotic odor and contraband was located in the vehicle. The driver, Tiffany Koncsler, 37, Salem, and a passenger, Mason Patching, 23, Salem, were taken into custody charged with drug paraphernalia and later released with a court summons.

— A juvenile problem was reported in the 1600 block of East State Street at 5:24 p.m. Monday. Officers spoke with the juvenile and their mother, and the juvenile was transported to the hospital.

— A person to be removed was reported in the 500 block of Ohio Avenue at 3:36 p.m. Monday. The caller advised a man was at his residence whom he had a no contact order against and wanted him to be removed from the property. Officers spoke with the man, who was intoxicated, and advised that he was experiencing a possible mental health crisis. The fire department and Life Team EMS responded and transported the man for further evaluation.

— Officers responded to a business in the 2300 block of East State Street at 11:03 a.m. Monday for a reported counterfeit bill. The caller advised that a person had attempted to make a purchase with a counterfeit $100 bill and had exited the business and been picked up by another man after the sale was declined.

— An assault was reported in the 1100 block of East Third Street at 12:40 a.m. Monday. Officers were given conflicting stories and provided both parties with statement forms to complete. The matter will be sent to the Columbiana County Prosecutor’s Office for review once the statements are collected.

— A suspicious person was reported in entering a vacant residence in the 100 block of West Pershing Street at 10:59 a.m. Sunday. Officers observed a person, Kayla Clingerman, 39, Youngstown, in the residence through the front window and ordered them to come to the door several times. Clingerman opened the door before closing and locking it and officers forced entry into the residence and took Clingerman into custody. A search incident to the arrest yielded contraband and Clingerman was transported to the Columbiana County Jail charged with obstruction of official business and possession of drug paraphernalia.

— An assault was reported at a business in the 1700 block of East State Street at 5:39 a.m. Sunday. The caller advised that a person had become upset during a conversation at a party had assaulted him, and he was transported to the Salem Regional Medical Center. Later in the day they came to the police department to provide a written statement.

— An intoxicated juvenile was reported in the area of North Lincoln Avenue and East Second Street at 3:46 a.m. Sunday. Officers placed the juvenile in custody and transported them to the police department where they were processed and released to their parent. The matter will be forwarded to the juvenile officer.

— Officers observed several people that appeared to be underage with open containers in the 100 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 12:54 a.m. Sunday. Officers stopped and identified all of them and found that two were juveniles and one was under the age of 21. The juveniles were transported to a relative’s residence for the evening, and the adults were picked up by a sober ride. The matter will be turned over to the juvenile officer for follow up.

— Officers, the fire department, and EMT checked on an intoxicated person that was reportedly vomiting in the 400 block of Mullins Street at 8:25 p.m. Saturday. The person in question agreed to go to the hospital and be checked out.

— An intoxicated man was reported attempting to start altercations with multiple people in the 800 block of East State Street at 7:47 p.m. Saturday. Officers advised the man, Scott Bailey, Salem, to cease his behavior and issued a warning for disorderly conduct. Further investigation found Bailey to be with a woman who had an active protection order against him, and he was taken into custody charged with violating a protection order and transported to the Columbiana County Jail.

— Menacing was reported in the 500 block of Walnut Street at 3:13 p.m. Saturday. The victim was advised to respond to the police department to fill out a statement the next day due to being intoxicated. Further investigation is pending.

— Officers on patrol in the 100 block of West Second Street conducted a wellness check on an unresponsive man at 12:06 a.m. Saturday. While officers were providing immediate medical aid and calling for EMS, contraband was seen in plain view and after further care was administered was recovered and will be turned over to a detective with the Columbiana County Drug Enforcement Task Force.

— A fight was reported at a business in the 100 block of South Ellsworth Avenue at 11:40 p.m. Friday. Officers found that there was no fight and only a verbal altercation. One of the people involved, Curtis Lodge, 33, Salem, had an active warrant and was placed under arrest and transported to the Columbiana County Jail.

— Domestic violence was reported in the 900 block of West State Street at 3:36 p.m. Friday. Officers took a man, Michael Tolley, 36, Salem, into custody charged with domestic violence for allegedly striking his daughter in the face twice, causing visible injuries.

— Dustin Mitchell, 27, Salem, was cited for failure to yield after his vehicle struck a vehicle driven southbound on South Lincoln Avenue by Kenneth Morris, 84, Salem, while attempting to turn onto East State Street at 7:27 p.m. Thursday.
