Columbiana
– Eric M. Francis, 34, South Main Street, Columbiana, was going through the Burger King drive through at 7:58 a.m. Thursday and then put his vehicle in reverse to get a better view of the menu and struck a vehicle driven by Robert E. Huff Jr., 57, Boardman, causing minor damage. No citations were issued due to being on private property.
– Christopher Boone of Columbiana, was eastbound on East Salem Street at 1:30 p.m. Thursday and struck a parked car owned by Bonnie Keene of Rochester, Pa. Boone was cited for assured clear distance.
– An Ohio Edison employee reported at 2:25 p.m. Thursday a boat was up against the Ohio Edison fence at the substation on Pittsburgh Street. Police contacted the owner who agreed to move it.
– A North Elm Street woman reported at 4:12 p.m. Thursday there were cars running in a garage at a neighboring home but she could not see anyone around and was concerned. Police went to the home and found there were no problems.
– Police warned Vance Rouse Jr. of Cleveland for selling meat out of his pickup truck in the front of Sparkle Market at 4:47 p.m. Thursday. He was also warned for soliciting without a permit.
– David Holloway of Leetonia was westbound on East Park Avenue at 4:52 p.m. Thursday and entering the Elm Street intersection and was struck by Deandra Henry of Youngstown, who was southbound on North Elm Street and failed to stop at a stop sign. Henry was cited for stop sign.
East Palestine
– Police were called to 105 E. Main Street at 4:10 p.m. Thursday for a report of several people yelling and disturbing their neighbors. Police spoke with Jonathan Weaver at the home, who said his girlfriend’s brother, William Tondo, East Main Street, and his girlfriend Janelle McDonnell, Grandview Avenue, were arguing again. The couple had already left the home before police arrived, however.
– Police were called to 140 W. North Ave. at 4 p.m. Wednesday after a case worker with Dogs Deserve Better reported that several dogs were not being property taken care of there. The case worker for the organization said the dogs were out without adequate shelter and were frequently left without food and water. Police spoke to the residents about the complaint and the residents said the dogs were only out periodically throughout the day and put out less frequently on extremely cold days. Police checked the dog box, which appeared to have adequate bedding material and food and water. The resident also said they spoke with the Columbiana County Deputy Dog Warden earlier that day.
– Police checked on an open door at a West Clark Street home at 4:30 p.m. and found it may have blown open from the wind.

Lisbon
– Police were called to 420-1/2 N. Jefferson St. in regard to a dog complaint at 11:20 a.m. Tuesday. Police told the pet owner to clean up after his dog when it poops in someone else’s yard.
– Larry L. Callis, West Washington Street, reported Tuesday being ripped off by a 29-year-old woman he let move into his house several months ago upon her release from jail because she had nowhere else to go. The woman was last seen on Sunday, and Callis has since learned she used his bank card to withdraw money from his account. He said the bank officials confirmed the person in the security video was the woman but they could only provide a copy to police. The woman also reportedly stole money and items from the home.
– Brimfield police asked Lisbon police to pick up Stephanie Eichler, who was wanted in that community on an arrest warrant. Eichler was known to drop off and pick up her children at McKinley Elementary, and police took her into custody there without incident at 2:51 p.m. Tuesday.
Columbiana
– Poland Township police reported at 7:42 p.m. Wednesday city police should be on the lookout for an elderly man and a vehicle that were reported missing in their township. Columbiana police checked the area but did not find the man. He was later found in another jurisdiction.
– Police accompanied a highway patrol trooper to 324 N. Bayshore Drive at 9:22 p.m. Wednesday so the trooper could issue a citation to the resident.
Salem
– Police responded to the laundromat at 950 W. State St. for a report of a suspicious person at 8:46 a.m. Thursday. Officers spoke to a male who was just waiting for a ride back to Lisbon.
– Kayla Tomidajewicz, 26, was cited for hit/skip/leaving the scene of an accident on private property after police were called at 6:25 a.m. Thursday to Church Budget South Ellsworth. Jennifer Runzo, who works there, said a co-worker saw a blue Chevy 1500 truck pull into the lot, slide on the snow and hit her Jeep Liberty, cracking the bumper in two different places. The name of Tomidajewicz, who also works there, was provided and she admitted to it.
– A domestic was reported at 1:59 a.m. Thursday in the 800 block of Arch Street. A caller said yelling could be heard. Officers made contact with a couple who appeared to have been sleeping
– A woman was reported begging at a business in the 2900 block of East State at 8:24 p.m. Wednesday. The alleged suspects left in a vehicle and were stopped nearby. The occupants denied being involved and said another female approached them asking for gas money then left in a blue truck.
– Jerry P. Jackson, 32, of 579 1/2 E. Fifth St., was charged with assault and taken to jail after police were called to a domestic at 7:03 p.m. Wednesday on East Third Street. A woman said he struck her in the temple.
– Brian Hands, 31, of West Fifth Street, was cited for a right of way violation and failure to reinstate after an accident at 5:09 p.m. Wednesday. She pulled from the stop sign at South Madison and collided with a vehicle driven by Brittany Kindle, 21, of Prospect Street,.
– Desiree Ingledue, 20, of 928 Liberty St., was charged with theft and Malina Naylor, 19, same address, was charged with complicity to commit theft after an alleged shoplifting of $44.17 worth of merchandise at Walmart at 4:38 p.m. Wednesday.
– A woman driver reported passed a school bus unloading a student on Franklin at 4 p.m. Wednesday. Police located the woman, who said she did not see the lights of the bus activated. She was advised of the penalties.
– A South Union Avenue man reported Wednesday his daughter was receiving threats from another girl for the past few months via Facebook and in the hallways at the high school. The case is under investigation.
– A Jennings Avenue businesswoman met with police at 1:31 p.m. Wednesday regarding the theft of checks. Some were cashed. It appeared forced entry was used to gain entry into the building
– A bicycle found in a front yard in the 1000 block of Cleveland Street was turned over at 10:53 a.m. Wednesday.
– A water leak was reported in the 900 block of Summit Street at 10:26 a.m. Wednesday. The water department was notified.
Perry Township
– John Soltysiak, 53, of Salem, was cited for fictitious registration after a traffic stop at 12:49 a.m. Thursday on state Route 45 near Depot Road.
– An abandoned vehicle partially blocking the road was reported at 11:54 p.m. Tuesday on state Route 9. Police could not contact the owner so they had the vehicle towed.

– Lyndsay Yanni, 33, no address listed, was charged with theft Tuesday after security personnel at Walmart reported seeing her remove several items valued at $141.91 from shelves and leaving the store without paying for those items.
– Officers were dispatched Tuesday to a Summerset Drive residence for possible drug activity. No other details were reported.

County Sheriff
– Missie and Chelsea Faloba reported a possible drug overdose at 1:17 a.m. Tuesday. The women told deputies Rusty Altman, Cream Ridge Road, Lisbon, invited them over, but suddenly stopped talking and began to lose the color in his face. He also told them he shot up with some type of drug. The women said Altman then went in and out of consciousness while they did mouth-to-mouth and chest compressions to revive him. Altman told deputies he used what was in an unmarked bottle of pills and a hypodermic needle to shoot up. After getting permission to search deputies found a marijuana pipe made of foil, a capped hypodermic needle and other drug related items.
– On Star directed deputies to a vehicle near McDonald’s in Lisbon with an alarm going off at 3:21 p.m. Tuesday. Deputies found a Chevy Cruz in the Sparkle lot and a driver who said she accidentally set off the alarm, but thought she had canceled it before she went into the store.
– Paula Bowers, Walnut Street, Rogers, reported flashlights behind her property at 9:50 p.m. Wednesday. The people were walking toward the fire station. Deputies did not find them.
– Ray Musser, Rauch Road, East Palestine, reported Wednesday that sometime over the weekend someone went through two of their cars and stole a .22 Marlin with a homemade leather strap and a Bushnell red dot scope from their garage.
– Jennifer Price, Leetonia Road, Lisbon, reported at 11:11 p.m. Monday she believes someone was pounding on her house. Deputies checked the area, but found only animal tracks.
– Walter Johnson, Lisbon Road, Leetonia, reported a suspicious vehicle at 10:28 p.m. Monday. Deputies found Melinda Penfold’s vehicle in a ditch. She told deputies she missed the driveway she was attempting to turn into and got stuck. Geary’s Towing arrived.
Lisbon
– Christina M. Garver, 40, West Lincoln Way, was arrested for domestic violence at her home at 8:52 p.m. Tuesday. She reportedly threatened to stab her 15-year-old daughter in the heart. Garver was armed with a 9-1/2 inch knife when police arrived, and the daughter had a mark on her neck.
Highway Patrol
– Nathan A. Riley, 33, West 9th Street, East Liverpool, was eastbound on U.S. 30 in Center Township at 7:27 a.m. Saturday and was struck by Diane E. Nieman, 69, Gavers Road, Hanoverton, who was westbound and slid left of center. Nieman then went off the left side of the road into a snowbank. She was taken to the Salem hospital with serious injuries and Riley was taken to the East Liverpool hospital with serious injuries.
– Jo Ann Smith, 47, King Road, Salem, was westbound on state Route 172 in Hanover Township at 9:10 a.m. Tuesday and hit a cat.
– Shannon G. Chamberlain, 39, state Route 170, Negley, was southbound on Pleasant Drive in East Palestine at 1:34 a.m. Saturday and went off the right side into a sign, a mailbox and a tree and then continued on. She was later charged with failure to control.
– Robert W. Jones, 33, state Route 517, Lisbon, was southbound on Leetonia Road in Salem Township at 12:10 a.m. Sunday and went off the right side into a ditch and a culvert. He was cited for failure to control.
– Benjamin M. Luca, 31, Alliance, was eastbound on U.S. 62 in Knox Township at 2:15 a.m. Sunday and went off the right side into a mailbox. He was cited for failure to control.
– Kenneth Dilling Jr., 48, Enon Valley, Pa., was northbound on state Route 170 in Unity Township at 5:40 p.m. Saturday and was struck by Tiarra Storm Stevens, 22, state Route 14, East Palestine, who was southbound and went left of center. Stevens was cited for lanes of travel.
Columbiana
– Teresa Czarnecki, Spinnaker Drive, reported at 3:43 p.m. Tuesday there were people at her home she did not want there. Police found there were no problems.
– A man requested at 6 p.m. Tuesday police escort him to a North Haven home so he could serve papers. Police took him to the home and there were no problems.
East Palestine
– Police were called to the high school at 11:52 a.m. Wednesday for a report of a disorderly student. Charges are pending against Alexus Jordan Posey, 18, South Washington, for assault and disorderly conduct consisting of fighting or threatening.
East Liverpool
– Off-duty police officer Steven Adkins was driving Monday night on Pennsylvania Avenue in his personal vehicle when he saw a man stumbling along the double yellow line. The man, later identified as James E. Neville III, 21, Hollywood Avenue, reportedly stumbled into Adkins’ path, causing him to drive his vehicle off the right side of the roadway onto the sidewalk. Adkins stopped and exited his vehicle and grabbed Neville, who reportedly smelled of alcohol and had slurred speech and poor balance. He told Adkins that, since he was off duty, he couldn’t do anything to him and tried to pull away, causing a physical encounter between the two, according to reports. Adkins held Neville against his personal vehicle until officers arrived on the scene and placed him under arrest for disorderly conduct/intoxication. Adkins reported his $200 coat torn in the fracas.
– Matthew P. Swartz, 30, Wilbert Avenue, was cited Tuesday with a lanes of travel violation after he reportedly drove left of center on Eutaw Avenue, striking a vehicle driven by Melinda K. Stacey, 47, Johnson Road, Lisbon. Stacey was taken to ELCH by Tri-County ambulance.
– Jamie J. Gunn, 41, Avondale Street, was turning left from St. Clair onto Sixth when he reportedly struck a vehicle driven west on Sixth Street by Raymond J. Roe, 24, Y&O Road. No injuries or charges were reported.

– Venus Wittenauer, Rauch Road, East Palestine, reported at 2:13 p.m. Monday someone entered her truck overnight and took $5 in change.
– Cynthia Thompson, Rauch Road, East Palestine, reported at 2:04 p.m. Monday someone broke into her vehicle between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. taking $120 in change and an old GPS unit.
– Samuel Watson, Scott Drive, Alliance, reported Monday that sometime around Valentine’s Day someone broke the passenger side window out of his vehicle.
– Paula Wartluft, U.S. Route 62, Damascus, reported Tuesday that sometime overnight someone broke two windows out of her Dodge Nitro. It appeared someone shot them out with a BB or pellet gun. She reported it was the third time their vehicles have been damaged.
– Chris Moore, Saltwell Road, Lisbon, reported at 10:31 a.m. Monday someone accessed her business debit card account withdrawing $420. One charge was for $346 and the others were small charges.
– Todd Lewis, Ohio Avenue, East Liverpool, reported a burglary at 6:18 a.m. Monday at the home of his sister, Ursula Lewis, who is currently in jail. When a deputy arrived, Todd Lewis put his hands in the air and begged the deputy not to shoot his dogs. Lewis also asked the deputy if he was alone. Lewis then told the deputy he had arrived and found his sister’s house burglarized with the front door open and TVs taken from both the living room and a bedroom. Ursula Lewis’ purse and a container of change were also reportedly taken. Todd Lewis questioned how this could have happened if the house is under 24-hour surveillance and questioned what would have happened if he was sleeping there and someone broke in and killed him for some crack while the home was under surveillance. The deputy questioned where he was getting this information.

– William C. Johnson, 60, Grant Street, East Liverpool, was southbound on state Route 7 in Fairfield Township at 2:47 p.m. Friday and went off the right side into a ditch a pole. He was cited for failure to control and taken to St. Elizabeth’s with non-life-threatening injuries.
– Jason R. Leggett, 41, West Lincoln Way, Lisbon, and another vehicle were westbound on U.S. 30 in Center Township at 7 p.m. Friday and while attempting to pass Leggett the other vehicle struck his vehicle and continued on.
– John F. Merriman, 49, state Route 45, Wellsville, was northbound on state Route 11 in Fairfield Township at 4:10 p.m. Saturday and went off the right side into a guardrail. He was cited for failure to control.
– Barry A. Cullen, 50, Youngstown, was westbound on U.S. 30 in Hanover Township at 2:40 p.m. Saturday and went off the right side down an embankment into a tree. He was cited for failure to control.
– David W. Chappell, 55, state Route 45, Lisbon, was southbound on state Route 45 in Center Township at 4:50 p.m. Saturday and went off the right side into a ditch and came to rest on its left side. He was cited for failure to control.
– Edward R. Garrett, 47, Boston Street, Washington-ville, was eastbound on state Route 558 in Salem Township at 4:50 p.m. Monday and Stephen A. Phillips, 21, Jennings Avenue, Salem, was northbound on Lisbon Road and pulled from a stop sign and struck Garrett. Phillips was cited for right of way.
– Cara L. Wolfe, 46, Aten Avenue, Wellsville, was northbound on U.S. 30 in Liverpool Township at 9:10 a.m. Monday and hit a bale of hay in the road.
– Sherry A. Stewart, 43, Glasgow Rod, Lisbon, was eastbound on Cameron Road in Madison Township at 12:40 p.m. Sunday and went off the right side into a barbed wire fence and came to rest in a field. She was cited for failure to control.
– Jacob James Henderson, 23, Sprucevale Road, East Liverpool, was southbound on Route 45 in Salem Township at 7:30 a.m. Saturday and attempting to turn east onto Route 558 and slid off the right side into a guardrail. He was cited for failure to control.
– Markus A. Adams, 17, West Main Street, Salineville, was northbound on Fife Coal Road in Yellow Creek Township at 2:50 p.m. Tuesday and went off the right side into a tree. A QuHe was cited for failure to control.
– Gregory Lawson, 53, state Route 39, Wellsville, was eastbound on state Route 39 in Yellow Creek Township at 6:39 p.m. Thursday and Eric Ray Gooding, 22, Grant Street, Irondale, was westbound and went left of center into Lawson. Gooding was cited for lanes of travel and Lawson was taken to the East Liverpool hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
– Thomas Gilbert Sphar, 27, Eighty Four, Pa., was cited for failure to control and OVI after wrecking on state Route 172 in Center Township at 9:45 p.m. Saturday.
Columbiana
– A Quincy Avenue woman reported at 2:40 a.m. Monday she thought someone was in her house and could see shadows underneath her door of someone walking around.
– Cornerstone Motors reported at 11 a.m. Monday someone stole a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500.
– A man reported at 10 p.m. Monday there was smoke coming from the area of M&E Supply. It was steam and not smoke.
Lisbon
– Amy M. Trombetta, 40, East Lincoln Way, was cited for running the flashing red light at the intersection of North Market and North Park at 12:13 a.m. Tuesday.
– Police were called to a home on North Vine at 3:26 p.m. Monday in regard to a 9-year-old who was out of control and threatening to harm herself. The girl bit her mother on the arm, kicked her in the leg and struck her in the face, giving her a bloody nose. The girl was transported to a local hospital and told if she was older she would be taken to the county juvenile detention facility instead.
– While at the high school on Monday, a boy reported that over the weekend his father pushed him against the wall, ripped his coat and choked him. The matter is being investigated and a copy of the report sent to Children Services.
– Marissa Wiley, West High Street, reported Monday she keeps getting wrong-number calls for people who do not live there. This time the person became vulgar and threatened to come to Lisbon to find the people who do not live there because they owe him $300. Police said they would call the other persons to instruct them to leave Wiley alone.
East Palestine
– Marge Schaeffer, East Taggart Street, reported at 2:56 a.m. Monday two people were acting suspicious around a vehicle under her car port.
Salem
– A car rental business on West State reported Tuesday a man rented a 2013 Chrysler 200 on Feb. 11 and was to return it Feb. 18. He did not. When contacted, the man said he gave the car to another man to return and he does not know where it is.
– Corey Cathnia, East State Street, reported Tuesday that someone entered his apartment overnight and removed some items, including a video game system, three games and a laptop computer.
– A juvenile was cited for driving without a license after a traffic stop at 10:27 a.m. Tuesday on Broadway and Second Street.
– Police were called at 5:47 a.m. Tuesday to SRMC for an alleged assault, but learned the incident occurred in another jurisdiction.
– A customer at Shears’ laundromat, 950 W. State St., reported at 9:37 p.m. Monday it appeared someone tampered with several dispensing machines. Someone stole all the coins from two of the dispensers and most of the coins from a third dispenser.
– A South Union resident reported a case of identity theft Monday. The case will be forwarded to a detective.
– William Styen, 53, of Cherry Valley Drive, Leetonia, was cited for failure to yield at 7:14 p.m. Monday. Styen’s westbound vehicle was in the turning lane on East State when he said an eastbound vehicle was also in the turning lane. He thought the vehicle was going to hit him and he attempted to turn into Marc’s, being struck by an eastbound vehicle driven by Laura Kosiorek, 24, of Erie, Pa., who was traveling in the straight lane.
– Christy Keglor, 40, of 812 Barclay Ave., was charged with theft at 5:26 p.m. Monday. The victim, who also lives on Barclay Avenue, discovered someone entered her residence and took some items. Keglor was located and turned over the items.
East Liverpool
– A vehicle driven by Cameron E. Scott, 45, Hillcrest Road, Wellsville, reportedly began to fishtail on Eighth Street, striking a vehicle driven by Michael E. Board, 60, Bill Smith Road, Wellsville. Board’s vehicle spun out upon impact, according to reports. No charges or injuries were reported.
– While southbound on St. Clair Avenue, James E. White, 67, Clarkson Road, Rogers, stopped for a vehicle turning into a private drive when his vehicle was struck in the rear by a vehicle driven by Phillip B. Ferry, 18, Watson Street. Ferry was cited for assured clear distance.
St. Clair Township
– Walmart officials reported an unidentified man removed items valued at $89.97 and left the store without paying. Surveillance video captured the theft.
– Roberta Mays, no address listed, reported receiving calls from out of state and the country during which she was asked medical questions. She was advised to contact her phone company and not to answer such questions except from people she knows.
– The K-9 team was requested by the highway patrol at a traffic stop on state Route 154 where canine Axel alerted on the presence of narcotics in a vehicle. Troopers found suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle, according to reports.
– Robert B. Enterline, Old Fredericktown Road, reported he answered a knock on the door at 12:45 p.m. Monday to find a younger man standing outside. The man was apparently caught off guard to find someone home, Enterline reported. When he began to question the man, he hurriedly returned to his vehicle, where another man was waiting. They drove toward Fredericktown.
– Officers responded to 48189 Hill Road for a noise complaint, but the home owner said there was no problem and she was uncertain why police were called.

County Sheriff
– Robert Walton, Whinnery Road, Winona, reported at 5:38 a.m. Sunday the Friends Church across the street had someone plowing snow into his driveway. Walton said he has spoken to them and to township trustees and it still happened again. Deputies spoke to the man in charge of that department of the church, who said he would fix the problem.
– Jamie Cline, state Route 45, Lisbon, reported at 4:21 p.m. Sunday she returned home to find someone threw a brick through her front door and numerous items were missing from her home. A microwave, a Nintendo Wii and two TVs were among items listed as missing. Cline’s mother then came home and reported a Ruger .9mm pistol was also missing from the bedroom. The theft happened sometime after 9:30 p.m. Saturday and before 4 p.m. Sunday.
– At 7:12 p.m. Thursday, a Kirk Road, Columbiana, man agreed to admit himself to the ELCH psychiatric ward and a loaded handgun was confiscated and placed into evidence. The gun will be released to a family member at a later time.
– Kevin Secka, state Route 154, Lisbon, reported at 3:03 p.m. Thursday his girlfriend’s father had been living with him and his girlfriend. The man stole about 40 percocets and three oxycodone from Secka and 40 ativan and 39 hydrocodone pills from the girlfriend.
Lisbon
– Police checked a home on Morton Street for abandoned animals at 3:40 p.m. Thursday, but the officers found people still living at the residence.
– Police came across a semi-trailer unable to turn at the intersection of West Chestnut and North Market at 2 p.m. Friday, and the driver said he was looking for the Morning Journal, which is in the opposite direction. The officer helped the driver back up to get turned around.
– Police were called to the BP station at 4 p.m. Sunday in regard to two females giving the cashier a hard time. Police stopped a vehicle matching the description leaving the parking lot, and the girls said the cashier was new and confused but everything was fine now. The cashier confirmed she was new and confused but she said the girls were rude to her.
– Police were called to an apartment on North Market at 6:24 p.m. Sunday in regard to a man who was contem-plating harming himself. Police stood by while the man was taken to a local hospital.
-Rusty Hoffman, East Lincoln Way, reported at 11:31 a.m. Sunday his pickup truck had been struck and the taillight broken while parked in the shared driveway.
– Police were asked by Center Township police to help arrest a female at the township police department at 11:25 a.m. Saturday.
Columbiana
– Travis Swinehart, 21, Columbiana, was southwestbound on Lisbon Street at 8:22 a.m. Sunday and went left of center at the Union Street intersection, striking a vehicle driven by George Summers, 48, Lisbon, who was northeastbound. Swinehart was arrested for suspicious of OVI and cited for left of center, open container and possession of marijuana. Further charges are pending the results of a blood test.
– A woman reported at 12:13 p.m. Sunday there was a van blocking an alley from being plowed on North Main. Police asked the driver, Sarah Soos, to move the vehicle.
– Tachieka Williams, 23, Poland, parked at the Presbyterian Church at 1:56 p.m. Sunday, opened her door and it was hit by a vehicle driven by April Chestnut, 43, Columbiana, who had pulled in next to her. No citations were issued due to being on private property.
– Christopher Gray, South West, reported Sunday he was receiving harassing calls from someone he knows. Police told the person to stop all contact with Gray.
East Liverpool
– An officer on patrol noticed a man staggering on East Fifth Street Saturday and identified him as Joseph D. Mason, 31, Kent Street. Mason reportedly smelled of alcohol, had slurred speech and had trouble standing. He was charged with disorderly conduct/intoxication and released to a friend.
Wellsville
– A Wood Street woman reported Feb. 16 her vehicle’s tail light was broken.
– Mark Stewart was charged with criminal trespass and public intoxication after police were called Sunday to Main. Stewart was found standing in the middle of the street and witnesses identified him as the one trying to gain entry to the home.
Salem
– Jeanine M. Shivers, 50, of East 15th Street, was cited for a red light violation and hit/skip after a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of East State and Union at about 9 a.m. Monday. Shivers was southbound on Union and reportedly failed to stop for the light, colliding with a vehicle driven by Reana Johnston, 49, of Old Coach Lane. Shivers left the scene but later came to the police station. Johnston suffered non-incapacitating injuries and was taken to SRMC by EMT Ambulance.
– An officer on patrol came across a suspicious vehicle in Memorial Park at 1:12 a.m. Monday off Sunset Boulevard. They were told the park hours and advised to leave.
– A Woodland Avenue man reported at 10:15 p.m. his ex-girlfriend initiated a physical altercation with him and the female accompanying him. The ex-girlfriend left in a vehicle, but was stopped by another officer. Nobody wanted to pursue charges.
– A resident in the 300 block of East Seventh at 9:35 p.m. Sunday reported a neighbor backed into their vehicle and pushed it backwards. There was no visible damage.
– A North Ellsworth Avenue juvenile was taken to the hospital Sunday night for threatening to harm themself and punching a wall.
– Police assisted sheriff’s deputies at a home on West Fourth where James E. Burkholder, 51, East State Street, was taken into custody on a warrant at about 7 p.m. Sunday.
– Police were called to Giant Eagle for a shoplifting report at 4:19 p.m. Sunday. The person left, but officers knew who they were with and the vehicle plate and description. The business declined to pursue charges and only wanted the person to never return. The person was located and told.
– Police assisted sheriff’s deputies at a home on East Seventh at noon Sunday where Roy Colbert, 49, of 487 1/2 Seventh St., was taken into custody on a warrant.
– A wallet left in a cab by a fare was dropped off at 11:24 a.m. Sunday and placed in lost and found.
Perry Township
– Police were called at 1:09 p.m. Sunday for a light flickering in a residence on Countryside Drive while the homeowner was away. Officers found all the windows and doors secure.
– Michael T. Joy, 26, of Salem, wrecked on Georgetown Road at 12:16 a.m. Sunday and reportedly left the vehicle. He was notified he would be cited for reasonable control
– Police at 5:01 p.m. Saturday located a vehicle stuck in a snow bank on the bypass. A tow was on the way.
– A caller at 1:15 a.m. Saturday reported shots being fired behind a home on Lake Avenue. Nothing was found.
Goshen Police District
– Daniel Melvin Yarian, 45, 13471 W. South Range Road, Salem, was charged with OVI, traffic control device and headlights required after a traffic stop at state Routes 165 and 534 at 9:45 p.m. Friday.
Lisbon
– Firefighters were asked by a crew to help get a person up the driveway to the ambulance at 38894 Mattix Road at 4:19 p.m. Sunday.
Salem
– Fire personnel were shoving snow from fire hydrants in the 1500 block of North Lincoln at 12:42 p.m. Monday when they detected an odor of natural gas. Columbia Gas was contacted.

County Sheriff
– Deputies were asked to check on two children at 103 Roseland Commons Apartments in Lisbon at 9:13 p.m. Saturday. It was found the apartment numbers do not go up that high and the manager told deputies he does not having anyone by the name Patricia Weyand living in the complex.
– Joanie Hamilton of the Frola Motel, state Route 45, Lisbon, reported at 5:20 p.m. Saturday she kicked two people out of the motel parking lot after she believed they may have been doing drugs in their vehicle. The vehicle left before she called.
– Jessie Williams, Votaw Drive, Lisbon, reported at 4:26 p.m. Friday his girlfriend was intoxicated and wanted to leave, but he wouldn’t let her go because he did not want her to crash. Deputies spoke to Jacklyn Welke, who admitted she had been drinking. Deputies warned her not to drive and Williams agreed to leave so she would calm down.
– George Valingo, Timber Run Road, New Waterford, reported at 11:03 p.m. Saturday a semi truck had been running all day. Deputies contacted the owner, Joe Rowley, who said it was running to keep it warm during the day and he planned to sleep in it overnight.
– Alicia Jones, Rose Drive, Lisbon, reported at 6:47 p.m. Saturday an intoxicated man had gotten his car stuck in the snow and was pounding on the door at one of the apartments. Joshua Voigt admitted to having marijuana in his pants pocket, drinking a half a bottle of wine and two Bud Light Platinum beers before driving. A field sobriety test was conducted and he was charged with OVI.
– Rebecca Tolson, Freeman Road, Lisbon, reported at 2:40 p.m. Friday she received a letter from Turbo Tax on Jan. 29 alerting her that someone used her Social Security number to file a return for 2014. Someone also used her husband and children’s Social Security numbers as well.
Highway Patrol
– James Richard Starkey, 20, Toronto, was westbound on state Route 39, in Yellow Creek Township at 5:24 p.m. Thursday when he went off the right side of the roadway and struck a ditch. He and his passengers were uninjured. Starkey was cited for reasonable control.
– Karen L. Maclean, 56, West Maple Street, Lisbon, struck a deer while driving on U.S. Route 30 just south of the highway patrol post at 5 p.m. Friday. The deer continued on.
Columbiana
– A crash was reported just south of Leetonia at 2:04 a.m. Saturday. Police attempted to contact the Columbiana woman, Shannon Chamberlain, whose license plate was given. The actual crash happened in Leetonia’s jurisdiction.
– Monica Macklin, Brenda Lane, Columbiana, at 2:17 a.m. Saturday reported the theft of 15 percocet pills.
– Keys were found in the door of Columbiana Tire at 3:28 a.m. Saturday. Police secured the building and a vehicle in the parking lot. The keys were left at the police station for the owner to pick up.
– Police checked on a car in the ditch on Heck Road at 8:04 a.m. Saturday, just outside of Columbiana. There was no damage and help was on the way.
– New Waterford police alerted Columbiana police at 5:47 p.m. Saturday of a black Hummer northbound on state Route 46 with a driver who had a suspended license. No other information was given.
– At 5:39 p.m. Saturday a woman reported she received a scam call from someone claiming to be her granddaughter and needing money. She did not give out any information to the caller and verified it was not her granddaughter.
East Palestine
– Jenifer L. Wolfgang, Park Avenue, reported at 5:37 a.m. Feb. 16 a semi truck may have struck a telephone pole and the trailer was detached from the truck.
– An East Main Street woman asked police to assist with an unruly child at 10:11 p.m. Saturday.
Center Township
– On Jan. 31, police stopped a vehicle on Saltwell Road for traveling 44 mph in a 25 mph zone. Police subsequently cited David Hause, 328 Maple St. Lisbon, with OVI, speed, seat belt and possession of drug paraphernalia.
– While on patrol on Feb. 12, police saw an old chair in the yard of 38233 Sue Drive, where police had seen it sitting for several months. The owner was contacted and asked to remove it, which they agreed to do.
– Donald J. Williams, 7821 Shady Lane, Lisbon, was charged with OVI, driving under suspension, fictitious plates, possession of marijuana and open container after a traffic stop on Shady Lane on Friday.
– At 10:42 a.m. Saturday, police and sheriff’s deputies responded to 39050 Grant St. During an argument, a daughter had struck her mother in the arm and threw a picture frame at her. Sara J. Eason 22, was charged with domestic violence and taken to jail.
Salem
– At 7:27 p.m. Saturday, police were flagged down in the 600 block of East Euclid Street by a woman concerned about her neighbor whom she hadn’t seen in about one week. Police checked and there was no answer at the door.
– At 1:49 a.m. Sunday, police saw an intoxicated woman in the area of Lundy and Bank. She said she was going to Taco Bell. Police told her to get a ride or go home.
– At 3:12 a.m. Sunday, police responded to Railroad Street for an intoxicated woman who wouldn’t leave. She was taken to the hospital.
– At 11:44 p.m. Saturday, police saw two men holding up a woman in the 300 block of West State. She was drunk. Another person arrived to give them a ride home.
– Police at 4:37 p.m. Saturday saw the sprinkle system operating in a closed business on South Ellsworth. An employee was contact.
East Palestine
– Firefighters responded Saturday afternoon to HR Evans Co., James Street, where a waterline froze. A sprinkler broke and firefighters had a difficult time locating the shut off valve to stop the water in the building while waiting for the key holder and others from the business to arrive to help.

County Sheriff
– Bobbi Felger, Taylor Road, Negley, reported at 11:20 a.m. Saturday she refused a text message from her husband, Dale, who she has a protection order against.
– Abby Snyder, Foundry Hill Road, Hanoverton, reported at 9:17 p.m. Friday a suspicious vehicle was in the area. Deputies did not locate the vehicle.
– Sue Himes, Spillway Road, Lisbon, reported at 10:08 p.m. Friday she may know someone doing drugs with a 3-year-old child in the home. Deputies attempted to contact someone at the home, but were unable to find anyone there.
– Rachael Davis, Pine Hollow Road, Rogers, reported at 10:04 a.m. Saturday she found bullet holes in her kitchen window. Deputies found the window was broken and there were bullet holes both in and around the window. It appeared to bullets came from the west side of the property.
– Deputies and Center Township police were called to a domestic dispute at reported at 10:31 a.m. Saturday. Sara Eason, Grant Street, Lisbon, was charged with domestic violence by Center Township Police Chief Adam Little after being checked out by KLG for a self inflicted wound to her arm.
– Janet Buzard, state Route 164, Lisbon, reported at 2:16 p.m. Saturday she called a company she believed to be Amazon Kindle and spoke to an employee about getting her Kindle and computer fixed. The employee told her the two items had a virus and they needed $180 to fix them, but the company does not take credit cards only bank account numbers. She later called the company back and spoke to a different employee, who said she was scammed because Kindles do not get viruses and the company does not ask for bank account numbers.
– Jack Graham, state Route 14, East Palestine, reported at 2:42 p.m. Saturday another man, Jeff Braun, was at his home making threats against his wife, his son and himself, trying to provoke a fight. Graham reported he also has been threatened and harassed by Braun while at the Vittle Village in Unity.
Highway Patrol
– Alfredo Leon, 33, Heritage Drive, Beloit, was eastbound on U.S. Route 62 in Butler Township at 5:40 p.m. Wednesday when he failed to maintain control, going off the right side of the roadway and striking both a culvert and a fence. Leon was cited with failure to control and transported by Beloit EMS to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital with minor injures.
– Ian C. Catlett, 26, Dobson Mill Road, Lisbon, was westbound on U.S. Route 30 in Center Township at 9:50 p.m. Thursday when Angela N. Newton, 34, Dayton, reportedly failed to yield at the stop sign on state Route 172, pulling in front of Catlett, who struck her. Newton was cited with failure to yield. No injuries were reported.
– Stephanie Davis, 28, Southington, was southbound on state Route 11 in Elkrun Township at 6:25 p.m. Thursday when she struck a deer entering the roadway. Davis was not injured.
– Josh Ficorilli, 68, Poland, was southbound on state Route 7 in Middleton Township at 10:45 a.m. Thursday when he struck the railroad crossing gate. No injuries were reported.
– Kenneth D. Beaver, 61, Sprucevale Road, East Liverpool, was westbound on state Route 518 in Wayne Township at 8:35 a.m. Thursday when he reportedly crossed the center line and traveled off the south side of the roadway striking a guard rail fence. Beaver’s vehicle then traveled back across the center line and slid off the north side of the roadway overturning in a field. He was uninjured and cited with failure to control.
– Kristine M. Lambright, 24, Jennings Avenue, East Liverpool, was northbound on state Route 7 in St. Clair Township at 9:42 a.m. Thursday when an eastbound vehicle driven by Donald R. Floding, 83, East Liverpool Road, Lisbon, pulled from the stop sign on East Liverpool Road and was struck by Lambright. Flooding was cited with failure to yield. No injuries were reported.
– Monica A. Wilson, 19, Commerce Street, Wellsville, was northbound on state Route 45 in Salem Township at 11:25 p.m. Wednesday when she reportedly lost control of her vehicle, drove off the right side of the road and struck a tree. She reportedly had minor injuries, but was not transported for medical assistance. Wilson was cited with failure to control.
Columbiana
– Jeffrey A. Schmied, 49, Carey Road, Salem, was westbound on state Route 14 and entering the intersection with state Route 164 at 4:05 p.m. Thursday. Veronica Wood, 68, North Elm Street, Columbiana, was northbound on state Route 164 and entering the intersection with state Route 14 when she struck Schmied’s vehicle. Both drivers claimed to have had the green light. No injuries were reported.
– A power line was reported down and sparking at 4:34 a.m. Friday on Camelot Drive. The location was found to be outside of the city limits.
– A vehicle roll over accident was reported on state Route 7 north of Firestone at 7:34 a.m. Friday.
– A woman reported she ran out of gas nearly in the middle of the intersection of state Routes 7 and 14 at 10:24 a.m. Friday. Police waited at the vehicle until the driver could get gas.
– Police checked on a disabled vehicle at 12:49 p.m. Friday in the area of South Pearl Street and Lisbon Street. The vehicle was not a hazard to passing traffic and a tow truck was on the way.
– A beagle, Flash, was reported running loose in the area of East Woodland Avenue at 2:59 p.m. Friday. The dog was returned to Tracy Swinehart at 5:30 p.m.
– A burgundy pickup was reported on South Bayshore Drive at 3:58 p.m. Friday and it was believed the occupants were striking a mailbox. Police found a large box containing eight individual boxes there, but were unable to find a vehicle matching the description given.
– A traffic crash without injuries was reported at 4:27 p.m. Friday on North Main Street at the Lantern Square Apartments.
– Police found a dog running loose in the are of West Park Avenue at 7:24 p.m. Friday. Police located the owner and returned the dog.
Salem
– At 7:43 p.m. Friday, police received a complaint from the 500 block of Walnut Street where an unknown man was sleeping in an upstairs hallway. He was awakened and was intoxicated and became belligerent while speaking with police. He was warned several times to cease and calm down but refused. David Gasior, 157 W. Fifth St., Salem, was charged with disorderly conduct and became combative in the back of the police car and officers had to hobble him for transport to the county jail.
POLICE
County Sheriff
– Catherine Johnson, Y-Camp Road, Lisbon, reported at 7:17 a.m. Thursday she and her husband Mark Johnson had an argument that morning and she had left to go to work, where they then continued arguing over the phone. Mrs. Johnson said when she told her husband she planned to get her mother and take some items from the home and leave, he told her she better not return, and she became afraid for both her and her mother’s safety and requested a deputy go with her to the home. The deputy stood by while she retrieved the belongings and there were no problems.
– A deputy was called to Clear Creek Trucking on state Route 7 in Columbiana at 9:33 p.m. Thursday for a noise complaint. Upon arrival the deputy saw numerous trucks running and could hear the back-up beeper on one of the trucks. The deputy attempted to contact someone at the facility but could not find anyone and it appeared the trucks were running because of the cold weather.
– A deputy stood by while Columbiana County Dog Warden Brenda Austin checked on a dog complaint at a Grant Street home in Lisbon at 9:10 p.m. Thursday. There were no problems.
– Jeff Taylor, Madison Avenue, Salineville, reported at 7:51 p.m. Thursday his 14-year-old son was smoking, destroying the house and using profane language.
– Shawnee Rohr, Votaw Drive, Lisbon, reported at 5 p.m. Thursday her ex-boyfriend Robert Gross had called her friend Courtney Johnson and advised her that if he sees Shawnee or her boyfriend he would physically harm them. Gross later reported it was Rohr who was harassing him. He was told to stop all contact with her.
Highway Patrol
– Mikayla A. Richards, 16, 18th Street Heights, Wellsville, and Karen S. Lewis, 58, Emerick Road, Kensington, were eastbound on state Route 39 in Yellow Creek Township at 2:50 p.m. Wednesday and Lewis, who was driving a bus for Southern Local Schools, stopped to drop off children and was struck from behind by Richards, who then went off the left side into a car parked in a private driveway. Richards was cited for failure to control and taken to the East Liverpool hospital with possible injuries. Her passenger, Michael E. Oates, Dewey Avenue, East Liverpool, was also taken to East Liverpool hospital with possible injuries.
– Robert Lautzenheiser, 79, Steubenville-Pike, was eastbound on state Route 518 in Madison Township at 7:10 p.m. Tuesday and hit a deer.
– Monica L. Snyder-Braun, 20, state Route 165, East Palestine, was eastbound on state Route 14 in Unity Township at 9:15 a.m. Sunday and spun counter-clockwise left of center and then off the north side of the road and rolled over an embankment and a cluster of brush into a field. She was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
– Mikayla Nicole Hahn, 17, Smith Goshen Road, Beloit, was westbound on Georgetown Road in Knox Township at 1:24 p.m. Wednesday and struck Dawn Nicola Struther, 30, Bandy Road, Homeworth, who was southbound on Cherry Street and slid through a stop sign. She was cited for stop sign.
– Jason L. Brandenstein, 38, West Middlesex Pa., was eastbound on state Route 39 in Washington Township at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday and went off the right edge of the road into a mailbox and a tree. He was cited for failure to control.
– Darleen Shaffer, 73, Park Avenue, East Palestine, was eastbound on state Route 46 in Unity Township at 6:20 p.m. Monday and went off the right side into a utility pole guy wire and a fence. She was cited for failure to control.
– Barbie M. Cain, 30, Olive Street, Salem, was northbound on Yates Road in Salem Township at 3 p.m. Wendesday and Timothy W. Merrill, 41, Lisbon-Canfield Road, Leetonia, was southbound and went left of center negotiating a curve and was struck by Cain on the left side. Merrill was cited for left of center.
Lisbon
– Virginia M. Neff, Rose Drive, Lisbon, was backing out of a West Chestnut Street driveway at 2:57 p.m. Thursday and struck a vehicle operated by Kathy J. McNutt, West State Street, Newcomerstown, who was stopped at the West Chestnut Street stop sign. No citations were issued.
– Joshua J. Knight, 25, North Beaver Street, was arrested on a domestic violence charge at 3:30 p.m. Thursday after police went to 717 N. Beaver St., for a report of a domestic disturbance involving a knife. He was taken to the Columbiana County Jail.
– Police went to an East Lincoln Way home at 10:24 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a man possibly overdosing. It was discovered that the resident was taking two handfuls of his blood sugar medicine. He was urged to go to the hospital to be checked, which he did.
– Police accompanied Mike Malone to his North Jefferson Street home at 4:55 p.m. Wednesday so he could retrieve some belongings. Malone did tell police his chest was broken into.
– A South Beaver Street woman reported at 8:17 a.m. Wednesday a boy was refusing to go to school. Police transported him to the alternative school.
East Liverpool
– While leaving Woodland Hills, Ashley N. Willison, 20, Lindell Drive, was westbound when she lost control of her vehicle, which slid off the left side of the roadway, striking a ditch. She was cited for failure to control.
– Dorothy M. Mack, 59, state Route 45, Wellsville, was stopped on First Avenue, backing into a private drive when another vehicle struck her driver’s side door then left the scene.
– Logan D. Miller, 18, Garner Avenue, was northbound on St. Clair Avenue when his vehicle slid on the ice- and snow-covered roadway, striking the rear of a vehicle driven by Brian Allison, 43, Cheval Avenue, who had stopped for a school bus that was loading students. Miller was cited for assured clear distance.
St. Clair Township
– During a traffic stop Thursday for driving under suspension, driver Jason P. Sellers, 22, Blair Road, Salineville, was asked to exit the vehicle because it was going to be towed. According to reports, he yelled an expletive at the officer and told him, “You ain’t towin’ nothing,'” and continued sitting in the vehicle, staring straight ahead. After several requests by officers to exit the vehicle, Sellers was physically removed and arrested for obstructing official business.
Wellsville
– A manager at Rich Oil reported Wednesday that two people entered the store to pay for gas and tried to use a counterfeit $10 bill. The man was described as 5-foot, 6-inches, 150 pounds with short blond hair and wearing a camouflage coat. The woman was described as 5-foot, 4-inches tall, 110 pounds, with reddish-blond hair, wearing a gray shirt and white coat. They drove away in a four-door gray car.
– George Mackall, Broadway, reported Tuesday his vehicle was struck by another vehicle, causing damage to the rear left panel and both doors. The vehicle was struck so hard it moved the rear of it toward the curb.
Salem
– A man on Pembrooke Drive reported at 12:03 p.m. Friday that he was in the ATM lane at Chase Bank on North Broadway Avenue on Jan. 31 when the vehicle in front of him suddenly backed up and struck the front of his vehicle. He exchanged information on insurance companies with the other driver, but now the other driver won’t return phone calls to him or her insurance agency.
– An anonymous caller at 10:48 a.m. Friday reported a dog tied up outside in the 600 block of Ohio Avenue in the minus 5-degree weather. An officer spoke to the owner who said the dog house is insulated, but she would bring him inside.
– An officer on patrol on Pennsylvania Avenue at 10:36 a.m. Friday saw a tractor trailer partially blocking the road coming from a driveway at Ventra. He needed help guiding the tractor back to the trailer after the fifth wheel disengaged and the trailer came off. The officer assisted the driver, who was able to get the trailer back in place and moved to allow traffic through.
– Police were called at 10:08 a.m. Friday to Firestone Auto Care, 462 E. Pershing St. for a person who came into the business and caused a disturbance in front of other customers. When officers arrived, the person was asked to leave and did so without incident.
– An officer was flagged down by a newspaper carrier at 6:56 a.m. Friday in the 1200 block of North Ellsworth Avenue regarding a red Chevy Venture van with the driver side rear sliding door hanging wide open with nobody around. An officer contacted the owner and advised of the open door. The owner said he would secure the door and notify police if anything’s missing.
– An officer at 6:53 a.m. Friday came across an unoccupied disabled vehicle partially in a driveway in the 1400 block of East Third Street and partially blocking the street. The resident did not know who owned the vehicle. The vehicle was towed from blocking the roadway.
– A medical emergency was reported at 9:57 p.m. Thursday in the 900 block of Prospect Street. Police stood by until the person was transported.
– A property dispute was reported at 7:04 p.m. Thursday in the 300 block of North Lundy Avenue. Police explained to the persons involved that it was a civil issue and told them their options.
– A domestic was reported at 5:22 p.m. Thursday in the 200 block of West Wilson Street. It was determined to be a verbal dispute between family members. One of the persons involved was taken to the emergency room by ambulance for evaluation.
– A woman in the 900 block of South Union Avenue reported at 4 p.m. Thursday that a man claiming to be from Publishers Clearing House was trying to scam her. Officers collected information and told her to call police if he calls again.
– A woman in the 900 block of Highland Avenue reported a case of identity theft at 3:54 p.m. Thursday, noting several changes made to her cell phone contract without her permission. She was told her options.
– A driver was given a warning for a traffic offense at 2:40 p.m. Thursday after a traffic stop in the 1500 block of South Lincoln Avenue. The driver gave the officer consent to search the vehicle, but nothing illegal was found.
– An anonymous caller at 1:26 p.m. Thursday reported a small dog tied outside barking on Sharp Avenue. Police checked the area several times, but did not locate the dog.
– Police were called for an alarm at a business in the 400 block of East State Street at 11:26 a.m. Thursday which is in the process of moving from another location. The alarm company was being contacted by the business.
– Officers at 10:12 a.m. Thursday checked for a male allegedly threatening others near the post office on Penn Avenue. He was found and denied making any threats. He appeared okay at that time. Officers were attempting to gather statements for possible charges of menacing or disorderly conduct.
– A domestic was reported at 9:16 a.m. Thursday in the 1700 block of East State Street where it was determined there was a verbal dispute. A male resident was upset when he was awoken by other residents. There were no signs of violence.

– Amanda Saunders, Carmel Achor Road, Rogers, reported at 5:07 p.m. Wednesday she was pulling into a parking spot at the Save A Lot in Rogers when James Seevers was backing out of a spot. He backed into her car. They exchanged insurance information.
– Michelle Lewis, Lynchburg Road, Kensington, reported at 6:24 p.m. Wednesday she noticed someone had taken an antique school desk, a 10-inch Craftsman table saw and a Cub Cadet trailer from a barn. Two days ago the items were in the barn.
– Sharon and Gary Saltsman, Hill Boulevard, East Liverpool, reported at 12:33 p.m. Wednesday someone broke into an outbuilding on their property on Waterford Road and took air tools.
Lisbon
– Police were asked by county employee Ben Black to check for possible water leaks at the Municipal Court building at 5:18 p.m. Wednesday. No leaks were found, but a cleaning crew and assistant prosecutor were found to be working in the building.
– Brock Huston, Summit Street, reported Tuesday a neighbor is pushing snow into his driveway while plowing, leaving gravel behind in his yard. Police spoke with the neighbor, who said he does not own a plow.
– Tracey Wonner reported Tuesday afternoon someone in a Ford SUV just drove over the curb by the prison alternative facility for women and over the hill into the village hall parking lot before exiting onto North Market Street. The driver could not be located.
– Brian Brown reported at 3:19 p.m. Feb. 10 someone in a gold/brown car backed into his truck in the McKinley Elementary parking lot, and the driver said he would return with his information but he never did. Using the license plate number, police determined the car owner was Norman Fitch of East Liverpool. Police called and someone who identified himself as Fitch’s brother provided a cell number for Norman Fitch. On Wednesday, police located Fitch at an address on North Beaver Street and saw the vehicle that matched the description and also had red paint on the rear bumper. Fitch admitted he was responsible. He said he pulled out into the street to talk with Brown following the accident but he never showed up.
– A Blair Construction work van was struck by another vehicle while parked Tuesday on North Beaver Street.
– Danielle Willard, Grandview Avenue, reported Saturday her son’s video game system was missing, and this occurred after he had a friend over the day before.
– Police were called to outside the Barborak Law Offices at 9:39 a.m. Tuesday, where Marcus Bowersock and Sierra Clarkson were arguing. Bowersock said he accidentally ran into Clarkson, with whom he has a child, and they began arguing. Both parties have protection orders against each other, and Bowersock was told he needed to go inside the law office for his appointment and that Clarkson needed to leave while he was there.
Columbiana
– A South Main Street resident reported at 10:27 a.m. Wednesday a suspicious man in a white car was going around telling residents he had to check gas meters inside their homes and was contracted by the city to do so. Police located the man on Court Street and found he worked for Bermex and is contracted by Columbia Gas to do so.
– A Fairfield School Road woman reported at 11:23 a.m. Wednesday her credit card had possibly been stolen.
– Tracy Bowser, East Friend Street, reported at 12:23 p.m. she and her live-in boyfriend were in an argument. The man decided to leave and neither wished to press charges.
– A Union Street woman reported at 12:18 p.m. Wednesday there was a domestic going on in the upstairs apartment. Police went to the apartment and Jaime Cadle said she was in an argument with her boyfriend Shanee Barnes Jr., who had already left.
East Palestine
– Police were called to the high school at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday for a student complaint of telecommu-nications harassment.
– Candy Cope, 58, North Market Street, was backing from a parking spot on the south side of Grant Street to travel westbound and struck a parked vehicle owned by Jamie Figley, 32, South Market Street, that was located on the north side of Grant Street. Cope was cited for improper backing.
Wellsville
– Police on Feb. 15 received a report of a stolen vehicle at a residence in Independence Square. The vehicle was found later that day at a Commerce Street home. When notified, the owner said he did not wish to bring charges because the man had permission to use it.
– A woman reported she tried to file her taxes online using Turbo Tax on Feb. 3 and learned her social security number was already used to file taxes. She was told to contact the IRS, who in turn told her to file a police report and contact other federal agencies to have a fraud report completed.
– Police went to a Main Street home at 9:07 p.m. Feb. 14. Michael Zema said he wanted his stepdaughter removed because she was acting up. Another resident said Zema had assaulted everybody in the house. Police found marks on several people. Zema was arrested on three counts of domestic violence.
– Police went to a Main Street establishment at 2:35 a.m. Feb. 14 where an intoxicated woman, Dezahrea Bostick of East Liverpool, was refusing to leave the place while waiting for her cab. When the cab arrived, Bostick entered a cab and vomited down outside. She then told the driver she did not have any money to get home. She was charged with disorderly conduct by public intoxication.
Liverpool Township
– Michael Houshour, Lisbon Street, reported damage to the kitchen area where BBs were lodged in the window sill. Officers reported at least six BBs were in the sill. Houshour advised he is fixing up the house to put it on the market and know no one who would have any reason to vandalize it. He asked for extra checks around the property.
St. Clair Township
– Tiffany V. Charpia, 27, no address listed, reported her prepaid credit card was used by her husband at McDonald’s and now it is missing. An employee at McDonald’s told police the card and a receipt were returned to her husband. Charpia was advised to cancel the card.
– Officers responded to the Duke Road home of Heidi Potts to remove a man from her driveway. He had left prior to their arrival.
– Betty Williams-Adams, no address listed, reported her soon-to-be-ex-husband won’t stop letting others use her belongings at their Irish Ridge Road residence. She was awarded some items by the court but a restraining order has prevented her from retrieving them from the home, she told police. She was advised this is a civil matter and to contact an attorney.
– David J. Warren, 49, Grimm’s Bridge Road, reported his ex-girlfriend is texting him threats, including saying she would shoot him if he reported her to her probation officer. He was advised to speak with the law director.
– While responding Tuesday morning to a call for the Calcutta Volunteer Fire Department, Christopher J. Pugh, 19, McDonald Street was turning from Calcutta-Smith Ferry Road onto Pugh Road when he lost control of his vehicle, which slid into a utility pole.
– Henry D. Werner, 54, Bloomingdale, was stopped on East Liverpool Road waiting to make a left turn onto Calvin Street when his vehicle was struck from the rear by a vehicle driven by James E. McKahan, 35, Dresden Avenue. Werner was taken to East Liverpool City Hospital. No charges were filed, but the report noted that McKahan was at fault due to following to closely.
Salem
– Betty Serich, 60, New Middletown, was cited for assured clear distance after she rear-ended a vehicle driven by Brandie Weikart, 39, Jennings Avenue, at 10:14 a.m. Thursday. Weikart was stopped on North Lincoln waiting to turn onto Sixth.
– A Merle Road resident reported a loose dog at 7:28 a.m. Thursday. An officer saw a brown medium-sized dog laying on a piece of patio furniture. The city humane officer was contacted.
– A vehicle struck and broke a road sign at the intersection of Lincoln and Aetna at about 11 p.m. Wednesday.
– Maxine Ezell, 20, 274 W. Wilson St., was taken into custody on a warrant for failure to appear after police responded to the home to investigate a dispute between two boys at 7:55 p.m. Wednesday.
– Zachary Penick, 21, East Fifth Street, pulled from Sugartree Alley onto South Lincoln at 5:15 p.m. and was struck by a vehicle driven by Kevin Geiger, 61, North Lawrence. Penick was cited for failure to yield.
– Tamara Clemens, 28, 226 E. Michigan Ave., Sebring, was charged with theft and criminal trespass for allegedly shoplifting at Wal-Mart at 4:17 p.m. Wednesday. She also had been ordered to stay out of the store last May.
– No injuries were reported after a northbound vehicle on South Ellsworth Avenue struck a westbound EMT Ambulance on East State Street at 8:34 a.m. Wednesday. The ambulance driven by Marc Owens, 30, Ravenna, had its outside overhead emergency lights and sirens activated while transporting a patient and slowed before entering the intersection going against a red traffic light for east/west traffic. A vehicle driven by Darlene Jenkins, 69, Apple Street, had the green light for north/south traffic, but failed to stop for the ambulance. Jenkins was cited for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.
– Police were called at 9:16 p.m. Wednesday to the 1200 block of Cleveland for a suspicious odor and report of possible narcotics. The resident at the home denied having any narcotics and allowed officers to check the interior of the home. No narcotics were smelled or observed.

– A teen backing out of a drive onto Painter at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday hit a postal truck driven by Gary Fatherly, 66, Goshen Road. Damage was minor and no citations issued.
– Trevor Speigle, 21, Salem, hit a deer while driving on North Lincoln near Old Farm Road at 2:49 a.m. Wednesday.

– Nicholas Aaron Colapietro, 23, Youngstown, was cited for failure to control after wrecking on state Route 165 at 11:59 p.m. Monday.

– The fire department responded to a report of a possible gas odor at 109 E. Pine St. Ext. at 9:18 p.m. Wednesday. Nothing amiss was found.

– Charles Campbell, North Pleasant Drive, East Palestine, reported that Monday he had discovered someone entered the vehicles in his driveway, took loose change and a prescription bottle of hydrocodone. Someone also walked into his garage, but it did not appear anything was missing from there. His yard was also damaged by a vehicle.
– Jenny Laneve, Cusick Road, Lisbon, reported at 11:48 a.m. Tuesday she ordered several items from vendors on eBay and was expecting them to be delivered last week. The post office told her they were delivered on Wednesday, but she did not receive anything except some sheets in the mail, which were placed in a plastic bag under the mailbox.
Highway Patrol
– Jenna E. Alvarez, 26, Wilbert Avenue, East Liverpool, was northbound on Lisbon Road in Salem Township at noon Tuesday and slid off the right side into a utility pole and a ditch. She was cited for failure to control.
– Patrick C. Flickinger, 39, East Taggart Street, East Palestine, was southbound on state Route 46 in Unity Township at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday and the engine of his vehicle caught fire. He was not injured.
– Jennifer L. Coletta, 38, Hickory Lane, Salem, was southbound on state Route 45 in Center Township at 8:33 a.m. Tuesday and a northbound vehicle started to pass traffic causing Coletta to serve off the right side of the road into a traffic sign. The other vehicle continued on.
– Joe A. Dennis, 47, Rochester Road, East Rochester, was in the process of making a left turn from a private drive in West Township at 7:15 a.m. Monday and was struck by Victoria A. Clemens, 62, Lynchburg Road, Kensington, who was northbound. Dennis was cited for right of way and taken to SRMC with non-life-threatening injuries and his passenger, Tamra S. Ramsey, 44, Rochester Road, East Rochester, was taken to SRMC with possible injuries. Clemens was taken to the Alliance hospital with possible injuries.
– Robert J. Daugherty, 22, West State Street, Salem, was southbound on state Route 45 in Salem Township at 3:33 a.m. Sunday and went left of center off the left side into a sign and a utility pole. He was cited for failure to control, OVI and seat belt.
– Joseph B. Vanek, 41, Youngstown, was westbound Crestview Road in Fairfield Township at 3:50 p.m. Monday and Jennifer Figley, 31, Allendale Avenue, New Waterford, was eastbound and Vanek failed to yield while backing out of a private drive. He was cited for right of way.
Lisbon
– Police were called to a Vine Street home at 4:09 p.m. Tuesday after an ambulance had been summoned in regard to a person threatening to harm themself. Police remained until the ambulance left to transport the person to a local hospital.
– The burglar alarm went off at the post office at 11:25 a.m. Monday, but the building was found to be secure and a postal official was contacted.
Columbiana
– Richard Ricketts, New Springfield, was northbound on North Main Street at 8:38 a.m. Tuesday and traveling through a green light when the vehicle in front of him came to an abrupt stop, causing him to stop and was struck from behind by Jodi Bussard, Columbiana. No citations were issued.
– A woman reported at 3:55 p.m. Tuesday a white car was parked in the Firestone Park the last two days. Police found the driver was enjoying the park and texting her grandchildren and there were no problems.
Salem
– A woman on Continental Drive reported unauthorized use at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, saying that her ex-boyfriend had her vehicle and she wanted it back.
– A East Fourth resident reported a man has been calling him even after he asked him to stop. An officer told the other man to quit it.
– Nicole M. Linger, 20, of 2334 Woodsdale Road, was taken into custody on a warrant for larceny in the lot of a South Lincoln business at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
– A juvenile with a warrant turned himself in at 4:49 p.m. Tuesday.
– Smith Oil, East State, Street reported a $20.09 drive-off by a woman in a black Jeep Liberty at 2:36 p.m. Tuesday
– A woman in a Jeep hit a hydrant in the East State plaza near Sally Beauty Supply at 2:01 p.m. Tuesday. She did not see it. No citation was issued and nothing appeared to be leaking above the ground, but the utilities department was contacted.
– A UPS driver was it by a car and knocked to the ground while delivering a package in the 700 block of Arch Street just before noon Tuesday. The driver stopped and the driver said he was OK.
– A Kennedy Drive man Tuesday reported a person keeps calling repeatedly telling him he won a contest and needs to send money to claim the prize. Officers told him it’s a scam.
– Rueben Rockwell, 26, Pass Lane, Lisbon, was cited for assured clear distance after he rear-ended a vehicle driven by Billie Blake, 32, of Georgetown Road, while approaching a red light on South Lincoln at 9:07 a.m. Tuesday.
East Liverpool
– Anthony J. Whitaker, Blakeley Street, reported he was asleep and someone threw a rock through the kitchen window. He was walking around outside when officers arrived. Officers reported that there were no other footprints in the snow but theirs and Whitaker’s and told him they believed he had made a false call. They reported Whitaker became irate and said he was going to call the mayor. This was the second such call to his residence for vandalism and harassment officers said he could not validate.
– James Hissom, owner of Tri-State Taxi, reported a man he knows is driving around with his company’s signs on the vehicle but he is not employed with the company. Officers located the man and vehicle but it did not have taxi company signs on it.
– Officers were called to Center Street for a man beating a woman. Brittany M. Heffner, 25, said she and the man with whom she has a child were driving on Thompson Avenue when an argument ensued and he began hitting her. When they arrived at their destination, she got out of the car and he knocked her to the ground and began beating her, Heffner told officers, who said witnesses corroborated her account. Officers went into the house but the man was not there. His father agreed to watch the couple’s 2-year-old so Heffner could go to the hospital and he was told officers needed to speak with his son.
– Kayla L. Weyand, Heights Manor, reported two filthy mattresses were placed inside her apartment by the building maintenance crew but the mattresses were not hers, having been left in the hallway by someone. She was concerned about vermin getting into her apartment from the mattresses. The maintenance crew removed the mattresses, according to reports.
– Joseph Warrick, Bradshaw Avenue, reported someone, possibly a neighbor, threw orange paint on his truck and residence.
– Thomas Slager, Louise Street, reported his home entered through a window and items taken.
– Amanda Dawes, North Shadylane, reported receiving threatening letters and calls from her ex-boyfriend, whom she said told her he knows when her apartment is unlocked and he was going to destroy everything in it. When Dawes then received a picture from inside her apartment, officers responded there and reported finding Alex Menough inside. He was served with a criminal trespass notice and escorted from the property.
– Joshlinn Hissom, Trentvale Street, reported a laptop from school and a television taken. She later reported the laptop was not taken but the television was and she suspected a neighbor.

– Brandon Johnson, McCann Road, Salem, reported at 7:38 a.m. Friday he met a woman on a website and has been talking to her for a period of time. Now she is threatening that if he does not send her money to an account in the Philippines she will post a nude video of him on his Facebook account. Deputies suggested he delete all his social media accounts and cut contact with her.
– Patricia Boughton, South Union Avenue, Salem, reported at 3:02 p.m. Thursday her trailer was broken into on Rochester Road at Paradise Lake. Someone took three TVs and some jewelry. The matter is under investigation.
– Karen Williamson, Miller Avenue, Alliance, reported at 2:30 p.m. Thursday someone broke into her trailer, threw items about and took three TVs and some jewelry. The matter is under investigation.
– Mary Slider, Fairfield School Road, Columbiana, reported at 6:46 p.m. Monday two people have told her there are nude photos of her on the Internet. She has no idea who did it. Deputies asked her if she had taken or if someone else had taken any photos of her. She said her husband did and she may have accidentally texted one to her friend.
– Sandra Gilbert, North Pleasant Drive, East Palestine, reported at 8:27 p.m. Monday two vehicles were entered overnight and change was taken.
– Mary Miller, U.S. 30, Minerva, reported at 9:05 p.m. Monday she left her home around 8 a.m. and returned at 8 p.m. to find the garage door was up. The Toro snow blower was missing.
– Joseph Tatorale, Maple Grove Lane, New Waterford, reported at 6:13 p.m. Monday, he is being harassed by Greg Henry. According to Tatorale, Henry’s younger brother and another man were recently arrested for criminal damaging. Now the older brother is reportedly posting comments against Tatorale on Facebook.
– Aaron Duncan, Haiti Road, Salineville, reported at 9:14 p.m. Monday his brother Daniel is threatening him with bodily harm. When deputies spoke to Daniel Duncan, he claimed it was Aaron threatening him. Neither would pursue charges.
– Crystal Bates, state Route 45, Salem, reported at 3:06 p.m. Monday she has been unable to contact her daughter-in-law, Marsha Snyder, Continental Drive, Salem. Deputies spoke to Snyder, who said she was fine, she just did not want to speak to her mother-in-law.
– Thomas McLaughlin, North Pleasant Drive, East Palestine, reported at 2:50 a.m. Monday his vehicle was vandalized. Deputies checked the area and found several shoe tracks leading to McLaughlin’s vehicle and almost all the vehicles of the neighbors in the area. Deputies also found a stolen vehicle in a ditch not more than 500 feet from McLaughlin’s home with no one around. The vehicle was found to have been stolen in Beaver Falls, Pa., where the owner is Larry Brown. McLaughlin, who had already left for work, told deputies he saw a man in the area, who said he lived up the street and needed pulled from the ditch, but McLaughlin told him he could not help because he was going to work. At 5:09 a.m. McLaughlin’s cousin, Charles McLaughlin, told deputies his vehicle was also broken into, but nothing was missing. He also saw a tall, skinny man about 20 to 25 years old and wearing one glove. The man walked with Charles McLaughlin for a few minutes, said something about going to East Palestine and then left.
– Ron Simpson, East Taggart Street, East Palestine, reported at 5:09 a.m. Monday his vehicles at a North Pleasant Drive home had also been entered and gone through, but nothing was taken.
– Deputies were called at 1:32 a.m. Monday to assist Lifeteam ambulance at a Salineville Road address, where reportedly Charles Wilke, 19, had been kicked out of his home and had been sitting outside for three hours. Deputies found Wilke in the ambulance. He claimed he had not been kicked out, instead he said he went outside to go to his father figure’s home in East Liverpool, but his ride never came. He wanted Lifeteam to give him a ride, but said he was not the one who called them. Deputies told him Lifeteam was not giving him a ride anywhere and if he was locked out he should wake up people inside to let him in.
– Caleb Becker, 12th Street, Minerva, reported at 2:08 p.m. Sunday there was vandalism at Forest Lanes.
– Glenn Miller, U.S. Route 30, Minerva, reported at 6:36 a.m. Friday a person was missing. Alex Newsome, Big Prairie, Holmes County, told deputies he and his girlfriend, Heather Scott, drove up to visit a relative. He awoke at 4:30 a.m. to find his girlfriend and her dog missing. Deputies asked Newsome to check his phone for messages, but it was shut off. He then used a relative’s phone and found Scott had left him a message on Facebook that she could not sleep so she called for a friend to come give her a ride home.
– Deputies were assisting the highway patrol with a vehicle crash at 3:37 a.m. Sunday. Robert Daugherty was found outside, shivering with blood on his face near a badly wrecked car, which appeared to be stuck in a yard after striking a dentistry sign and a telephone pole. Deputies invited Daugherty to get inside the cruiser to get warm, then smelled alcohol. Daugherty reportedly admitting to drinking “a little bit.” The vehicle was registered to William Lee Michaels III of Salem.
– Deputies checking the area near Rogers Elementary saw a suspicious vehicle in the lot at 10:11 p.m. Sunday. The vehicle started to leave in a hurry, turning onto Sprucevale Road and heading southbound. Deputies stopped the vehicle at the intersection of Sprucevale and Carmel Achor Roads. The vehicle was driven by Daniel Marriotti, Pancake Clarkson Road, Rogers, and the passenger was MacKenzie Cunningham, Hammond Park Drive, Wellsville, and the vehicle was registered to Kristal Work, the mother of Cunningham. Marriotti was cited for expired tags and both were told to stay off the school’s property.
– Bob Dunkin of Paradise Campground, East Rochester, reported at 2:10 p.m. Friday his camper was one of several someone broke into in the campground. Someone took his TV, a game systems, games, a projector, slippers and sheets.
– Dana Carpenter, Paradise Campground, reported at 2:24 p.m. Friday someone broke into her camper and took two TVs, a game system, games, DVDs, a Blue Ray player and movies.
Highway Patrol
– Cambia R. Garland, 49, Canfield, was in a mail delivery vehicle turning left turn off state Route 165 into a private drive in Unity Township at 12:50 p.m. Friday and was struck by Tabitha J. Wagster, 28, Beaver Falls, Pa., who was in the southbound lane of 165 and attempting to pass Garland. The impact caused Wagster’s vehicle to go off the left edge of the road into a stone and a utility pole. Garland was cited for turn and stop signals.
– Allen J. Barcey, 44, Charlton Drive, Lisbon, was stopped northbound on state Route 45 in Salem Township at 12:30 p.m. Saturday to deliver mail and was struck by Jarrod Lee Craft, 36, Schneider Road Hanoverton, who was also northbound. Craft was cited for assured clear distance. His passenger, Rachel M. Craft, 29, Schneider Road, Hanoverton, and Barcey were taken to SRMC with non-life-threatening injuries. Shortly after, Matthew L. Jackson, 39, Walnut Street, Leetonia, who was also northbound on Route 45, struck Craft’s vehicle which was disabled in the northbound lane. Jackson was cited for failure to control.
– Bruce R. Blankenship, 63, Franklin Road, Salem, was northbound on state Route 164 in Center Township at 4 p.m. Sunday and slid off the right side down an embankment and into a stream. He was cited for failure to control.
– Emily Kay Mays, 25, Wells Hollow Road, Wellsville, was eastbound on Cannons Mill Road in Madison Township at 9:15 p.m. Thursday and Alyssa Lynn Nipps, 24, Clarksville, Pa., was westbound and negotiating a curve and slid into Mays. Nipps was cited for failure to yield half of the road.
– Scott D. Gordon, 27, Curry Street, East Liverpool, and Lizabeth Beight, 53, state Route 45, Lisbon, were northbound on Dresden Avenue in St. Clair Township at 4:25 pm. Friday and Gordon struck Beight from behind. Gordon was cited for assured clear distance.
– Evelyn M. Koch, 77, Dutchtown School Road, Rogers, was westbound on East Liverpool Road in St. Clair Township at 7:11 p.m. Friday and hit a deer.
– Brett Robert Grotefend, 44, Austintown, and John J. Swager, 19, Ohio Avenue, East Liverpool, were southbound on state Route 11 in Fairfield Township at 3:20 p.m. Saturday. Swager attempted to pass and lost control and struck Grotefend. Swager was cited for failure to control.
– Joel McCready, 32, Palissey Street, East Liverpool, was northbound on state Route 7 in Elkrun Township at 3:34 p.m. Saturday and swerved to avoid a southbound vehicle that went left of center. McCready then went off the road into a ditch and the other vehicle continued on.
– Tayler G. Chambers, 22, Canfield, was eastbound on state Route 14 in Unity Township at 5:10 p.m. Saturday and Heriberto Gomez Almanza, 22, North Lima, was westbound and slid into the path of Chambers’ vehicle. Almanza was cited for failure to control.
– Marcella Catlett, 50, Alliance, was southbound on state Route 45 in Salem Township at 9 p.m. Saturday and went off the right side into a ditch. She was cited for failure to control.
– Timothy J. Kelly, 54, state Route 45, Wellsville, was northbound on state Route 45 in Madison Township at 1:50 p.m. Sunday and Joshua C. Kersey, 32, 6th Street, Wellsville, was southbound and went left of center into Kelly. Kersey was cited for left of center and Kelly was taken to the East Liverpool hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
– George Cochran, 53, Bye Road, East Palestine, and Sean R. Scullin, 32, Boardman, were northbound on state Route 7 in Fairfield Township at 2:30 p.m. Sunday and Scullin was passing Cochran and struck him as he attempted to turn left into a private drive. No citations were issued.
Columbiana
– James Cairns, North Main Street, reported at noon Monday his ex-girlfriend, Deborah Bianco of Canfield, was banging on his door and wouldn’t leave. Bianco told police Cairns had her apartment keys, which Cairns denied. Bianco said she would have her locks changed.
– A man reported at 5:56 p.m. Monday there was a suspicious red car driving up and down Quincy Avenue. Police checked but did not find the car.
– Police notified the fire department at 5:56 p.m. Monday of a live electrical wire down on state Route 164 near Sparkle.
– Police notified the fire department at 6 p.m. Monday of an electrical burning smell near NAPA Auto Parts. It was found to be a line down.
– Josh Andrews, 37, Leetonia, and Kenneth Blake, 45, Youngstown, were both charged with disorderly conduct at 8:21 p.m. Monday following a traffic crash on South Main Street. The two men were involved in the crash and began arguing at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
– Justin Ward reported at 11:28 p.m. Monday there was a reckless driver westbound on state Route 14 in a red pickup truck. Police found the vehicle and spoke with the driver, who was not impaired but was distracted.
East Palestine
– Randall J. Fegert, East Clark Street, was arrested for driving under suspension, OVI and open container following a traffic stop around 12:30 a.m. Saturday.
Lisbon
– Joe Morenz, South Lincoln Avenue, reported there was a car parked along Lincoln with no hazard lights activated at 11:50 p.m. Thursday. The owner was located and told to move the vehicle.
– Bobbie Crookston, West Lincoln Way, reported Thursday her apartment had been trashed and personal identity information missing from her purse,
– The burglar alarm went off at the Head Start offices at 7:52 a.m. Sunday, but the building was found to be secure. The alarm was activated again at 10 a.m., and this time the director was there to let in the officer, who found a window cracked open but there was no sign the screen had been tampered with. The director said workers sometimes open the windows slightly when it gets too hot.
– The burglar alarm went off at the post office at 8:32 a.m. Sunday, but there was no sign of any criminal activity.
– Police were called to Applegrove Apartments at 12:39 a.m. Monday about a noisy tenant. Police spoke with the person, who was playing video games with a friend, and they were told to keep it quiet.
– Rich Parsons reported that last week a gas pump hose at the Valley View store was leaking and it was still leaking when he returned on Monday even though he told store employees. The owner told police the hose would be fixed on Tuesday, and in the meantime the officer placed a bag on the pump. The hose appeared to be leaking when only in use.
– The burglar alarm went off at the Columbiana County Mental Health Center at 4:15 a.m. Monday, but police found the building to be secure.
– Mary A. Keller, 53, Lisbon Street, East Liverpool, was turning from East Washington Street into an alley when her vehicle was struck from the rear by a vehicle driven by Alivia M. Molter, 19, Sunnyside Street, East Liverpool. This occurred at 1:45 p.m. Monday.
St. Clair Township
– Officers were called to Walmart for an employee that store officials wanted arrested. Loss prevention officers reported they had been building a case against Alexandrea F. McDole, 18, St. Clair Avenue, for three weeks, saying she had been stealing regularly from the store while employed there. They told officers she had taken small items such as an air freshener, food and pop for lunch but had escalated to taking movies and CDs. When confronted by store personnel, McDole reportedly admitted the thefts. She was terminated and then arrested for theft.
– Jona N. French, 23, no address listed reported she was in Sheetz when her ex-boyfriend came in and began yelling at her about who she is hanging around with. The man took her key and got into French’s vehicle, then left in another car prior to officers’ arrival.
– Officers were advised of a person slumped over the wheel of a vehicle on state Route 170 but, when officers arrived, they were told a passerby had awakened the woman and she drove off. They were then called about a vehicle traveling 20 miles per hour near Turkana Farms and found the same vehicle, which was stopped. The woman driver told them her doctor had just changed her medication and she appeared to be having a reaction. Her parents were called to pick up the woman and her vehicle and she was advised not to drive until she speaks with her doctor about the medication.
– Officers responded to the Verizon store for a group of young adults using profanity to employees in front of other customers, one of whom walked out due to their behavior. When escorted out by a manager, they were heard to say they would return and “shoot up” the place. Officers contacted the young people and advised them not to return to the store or they would be arrested for criminal trespass.
Salem
– James M. Raneri, 28, of Southeast Boulevard, was cited for driving under suspension after a private property accident at Briargate Apartments on Southeast Boulevard at 7:35 a.m. Tuesday. Raneri was pulling from a parking spot and didn’t see the vehicle driven by Melissa Buckius, 44, of Southeast Boulevard, striking it.
– A parent on Lexington reported at 10:51 p.m. Monday her daughter had not returned home. The girl was entered into the law enforcement date base as missing.
– At 5:07 p.m. Monday, officers spoke with a juvenile and parent who said the juvenile was sexually assaulted Sunday night. The incident is under investigation.
– A woman in the 500 block of Franklin Avenue reported at 12:31 p.m. Monday that her son was backing out of their driveway and slid on some ice, almost hitting a red van traveling westbound on Franklin. The male in the van then followed them back to the residence where he began to punch her son’s vehicle and then left.
– Robert Koch, 40, of Alliance, was cited for failure to control after losing control of his eastbound vehicle on Pennsylvania Avenue and striking the front of a westbound vehicle driven by Stephen Barrett, 55, of West Wilson Street, at 11:57 a.m. Monday.
– A possible broken water line was reported at 10:09 a.m. Monday on Buckeye Avenue. The utilities department was contacted.
– An alarm drop was reported at 2:29 a.m. Tuesday in the 1000 block of North Ellsworth Avenue. Officers located an open door and checked the interior of the business, finding it OK.
– An alarm was reported at 2 a.m. Tuesday at the VFW on Arch Street. The exterior was found secure.

– Cody Wilson, 24, Salem, was arrested on a domestic violence warrant through Alliance in a traffic stop on Route 14 at 1:16 a.m. Sunday.
– A woman reported at 12:58 p.m. Sunday someone was driving a snowmobile all over the softball field lot at Firestone Park. Police checked and followed the man to his home on Terra Verde where he was given a verbal warning.
– Brenda Reynolds reported at 4:35 p.m. Sunday someone broke into her mother’s home on South Elm.
Salem
– Joshua Board, 24, South Lincoln Avenue, was cited for driving under suspension non-compliance after a traffic stop at 9:02 p.m. Sunday on East Pershing near Lincoln. The license plates were confiscated for the BMV and the vehicle was towed.
– Police responded at 7:29 a.m. Monday to the 800 block of East Third for a residential lockout with a child inside. Officers stood by while the fire department gained entry,.
Perry Township
– Bridgette Loutzenhiser, 32, was taken into custody at 10:24 a.m. Sunday at her Pymouth Place home on a warrant from the county.
– A caller at 10:57 p.m. Saturday reported alleged narcotics dealing in the 1300 block of West State. Police saw a semi truck leaving the premises and initiated a traffic stop. An unmarked bottle of pills was found in the vehicle. After a brief investigation into the identity of the pills, the people were released. An investigation is pending.
– A resident of Buckeye Circle called at 2:47 p.m. Saturday to report unauthorized charges to a credit card, then found the card missing. The card was used at a local business.
– Police noticed multiple vehicles becoming stuck on the Cunningham Road hill and in the ditch due to the hazardous conditions at 1:33 p.m. Saturday. The township road department was able to clear the roads and vehicles were removed.
-A South Lincoln Avenue resident spoke with police Saturday in reference, saying he was contacted by a person who said he had just won $2.5 million and needed $650 sent by Western Union to cover taxes. The resident did not send any money. Police contacted the number and spoke with a male who quickly hung up after an officer identified himself. Police tried numerous times to reach the person at the number, leaving multiple messages to call the station.
– Jonathan Penrod, 30, of Alliance, was cited for an expired driver’s license after police investigated a suspicious vehicle in the driveway of Salem Bible Church on Cunningham Road at 7:56 p.m. Thursday. The driver said he had stopped to search for his cell phone. He and his juvenile son were taken to a public location in Salem to call for a ride. The vehicle was left parked at the church to be picked up a short time later by a friend with a valid license.
– Patricia Schaff, 64, of Cunningham Road, was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign at 3:20 p.m. Thursday. Schaff pulled from Stewart Road onto Depot and struck a vehicle driven by Violet DeLong, 75, of Stewart Road, who was southbound on Depot attempting to turn west onto Stewart.

– An officer responded to suspicious circumstances in the 300 block of Ridge Street at 9:16 p.m. Jan. 30.
– An officer took a report of a possible burglary at a business in the 600 block of Cherry Fork Avenue at 7:29 a.m. Feb. 1.
– Police responded to a possible breaking and entering at a Washington Street business at 6:27 a.m. Feb. 2.
Goshen Police District
– Delmer R. Knauff, 50, 462 W. Fourth St., Salem, was charged with OVI and a turn signal violation after a traffic stop on state Route 45 at 10:55 p.m. Saturday.
– Jessika R. Watkins, 23, Salem, wrecked on state Route 165 at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. A passenger, Andrew J. Way, 27, Salem, was taken to SRMC with non life-threatening injuries. No citation was issued.
East Liverpool
– Officers responded Saturday to Dollar General on Walnut Street where an employee reported seeing a man stuffing his pockets with items. The man, identified as David J. Sisco, 48, Eutaw Avenue, was stopped by officers near Bruno’s Pizza and asked if he had stolen anything. Sisco reportedly said he had taken bed sheets with the intention of returning them to receive cash to use for cigarettes and beer. He was charged with theft.
St. Clair Township
– Dispatched to Samuel Street Sunday for a domestic dispute, officers found Heather L. Fisher, 37, crying. She reported that Scott Francis, same address, had struck her in the eye, stomach and head. Francis told officers they had a verbal argument over Fisher taking $150 of his and he tried to lock himself in the bathroom to get away from her. They were both charged with domestic violence.
– Duallen Stanford, 22, state Route 170, was charged Saturday with menacing and inducing panic after Tamela Watkins, 23, Irish Ridge Road, and Ryan Railing, 21, Walker Road, reported he was following them along the sidewalk and then into two stores at the Summit Square Plaza. They said Stanford was yelling profane language and threatening to assault them, yelling, “I’m going to shoot you,” then reaching into the trunk of his vehicle. Police reported that Watkins and Railing believed he was going to shoot them and other customers and pedestrians were turning away and removing their children from the area and calling the police department.
– Dorthy L. Brown, 21, Erie Street, was charged with theft after officers reported she selected several items from the shelves at Walmart, scanned and paid for some but failed to pay for two pieces of clothing.
Wellsville
– Shauntice Carter was charged with resisting arrest, obstructing justice and disorderly conduct after police were called Feb. 11 to an 18th Street home for a possible hit-skip incident. Police saw Carter get into a green Pontiac Grand Am with heavy front-end damage. Carter repeatedly denied hitting anything, became belligerent and was arrested. Police needed mace to bring her under control.
– Norman Bender was charged with criminal trespass at 7:22 p.m. Feb. 9 when they found him inside an apartment on Broadway, lying on the floor.
– Margaret Spann reported Feb. 9 she received a 2014 tax return for her son, Gregory Q. Spann, who died in March 2011. Spann believes someone stole her son’s identity in the time since.
– Thomas Barton was taken into custody Feb. 7 after allegedly showing up at the Broadway home of his father, Thomas, who has a protection order against his son.
– Martin Fletcher, Mareese Sanders and Amber McCauley were found inside Apartment 147 at Independence Square at 10:22 p.m. Feb. 7. Sanders, a Youngstown resident with a felony, was cited for criminal trespass and kicked off the property. Fletcher has a warrant for child support out of Marion County and taken into custody. McCauley was advised the report would be forwarded to the CMHA housing manager.
– Two boys were reported throwing snowballs at a 15th Street home at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 8. Police told them to quit it. Police were called back to the home later in the day regarding an argument between the resident and a neighbor. Police both parties to cease contact.
– Police responded to a domestic Feb 6 at Independence Square. The wife went to her mother’s for the night and the husband took the two children. Police advised both parties that incident would be forwarded to the prosecutor’s office and child services for review.
-Becky Stull reported Feb. 1 someone stole her identity and received a tax refund of $2,907 from the state last year. Stull said she has not filed a tax return since 2002 because she has been on disability. Stull said this year her sister tried to claim her on her taxes and it was flagged. She also said someone tried to file on this year’s taxes on Jan. 22.

– Autumn Schwartz, North Pleasant Drive, East Palestine, reported at 8:42 a.m. Monday her vehicle was left unlocked overnight and someone ransacked the glovebox and stole about $10 in small bills and change.
– Chad Stoffer, Route 172, Lisbon, reported at 11:06 a.m. Sunday he was plowing the lot at Winona Frozen Foods when his truck, owned by Batzli Excavating, was struck by another truck. The other driver, Brandon Good, was attempting to stop at the end of his driveway when he slid into Stoffer’s truck.
– Three vehicles were involved in an accident on state Route 14 in Unity Township during whiteout conditions at 2:20 p.m. Saturday. John Susan on Conway, Pa., was driving westbound in a Toyota 4-Runner and attempted to stop, but lost control and struck a Grand Cherokee in front of him driven by Keith Bowler of Industry, Pa. Bowler’s vehicle was pushed into a Chevy Equinox driven by Lisa Entrikin of Lisbon, who was stopped in traffic. Bowler’s passenger, Julia Bowler, was transported by New Waterford EMS with a possible injury. No citations were issued due to the weather and road conditions.

– The burglar alarm went off at the Rite Aid at 10:22 p.m. Saturday. Police arrived to find the doors secure and no one around. A store official was notified.
-Michele M. Price, 48, of Louisville, was stopped in traffic on East Lincoln Way when the rear of her vehicle was struck from behind by Adam S. Valentine, 32, Riverside Avenue, Wellsville, at 10:41 a.m. Wednesday.
Highway Patrol
– During a traffic stop on state Route 7 in Liverpool Township, the driver, Roy B. Miller, 34, James Drive, Wellsville, reportedly had red glassy eyes and the odor of alcohol about him. During a search of his vehicle, a small baggy of marijuana and a glass pipe with burnt residue were reportedly found in the console. He was charged with OVI, driving under suspension, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
– Jessica A. Hersman, 30, Salineville Road, Salineville, was westbound on state Route 39 in Washington Township at 8:35 a.m. Thursday and struck Carla E. Crooms, 58, Clarks Mill Road, Hammondsville, who was northbound on Clarks Mill and pulled from a stop sign. Crooms was cited for stop sign.
– Dena M. Bolin, 31, Water Street, Salineville, was eastbound on state Route 39 in Yellow Creek Township at 11:35 a.m. Thursday and turning onto Fife Coal Road and was struck from behind by Haze H. Hall, 74, Cam0bridge. Hall was cited for assured clear distance. Bolin and her passenger, Edward A. Bolin Jr., 35, Water Street, Salineville, were taken to ELCH with non-life-threatening injuries.
– Marce Lee Mayle II, 33, Bye Road, East Palestine, was northwestbound on Bye Road in Middleton Township at 6:10 a.m. Thursday and went off the east side into an embankment, a pole and rolled over. She was cited for failure to control.
– Shane E. Tolbert Jr., 22, Uniontown, was eastbound on Middle Beaver Road in Elkrun Township at 6:50 a.m. Friday and went off the right side, then back into the eastbound lane and slid off the right side again into an embankment and overturned. He was cited for failure to control and taken to ELCH with non-life-threatening injuries.
– Ryan D. White, 37, Autumn Road, Wellsville, was eastbound on Osbourne Road in Madison Township at 4 a.m. Friday and went off the north side into a culvert. He was cited for failure to control.
– Paige Marie Clark, 19, St. Jacob-Logtown Road, Lisbon, was northbound on Route 154 in Fairfield Township at 9:45 a.m. Saturday and went off the right side into a utility pole. She was cited for failure to control.
– Robert D. Rose, 59, Echo Dell Road, East Liverpool, and Leshawn Deon Jermaine Luke, 21, Steubenville, were north-bound on state Route 45 in Salem Township at 12:31 p.m. Saturday and Rose slowed for traffic and was struck by Luke. Luke was cited for assured clear distance.
– Andrew D. Troyer, 47, East State Street, Salem, was northbound on state Route 45 in Salem Township at 1:19 p.m. Saturday and stopped for traffic ahead and was struck by another vehicle that was attempting to make a U-turn and then fled the scene.
– David L. Julian, 67, Butcher Road, Salem, and Derrick V. Martin, 35, Eastlake Drive, Lisbon, were westbound on Teegarden Road in Hanover Township at 12:58 p.m. Saturday and Martin was attempting to make a left-hand turn onto East Lake Road and was struck from behind by Julian. No citations were issued.
– Beth A. Risden, 46, Slater Road, Salem, was eastbound on Hartley in Butler Township at 4:10 a.m. Saturday and went off the left side into a ditch and rolled over. She was cited for failure to control.
– Brittany L. Ring, 17, Beloit, was eastbound on Georgetown Road in Knox Township at 6 p.m. Sunday and went left of center off the left side of the road into a ditch, a utility pole and several trees. She was cited for failure to control.
– Mark L. Bandy, 29, Beloit, was southbound on 12th Street in Knox Township at 6 a.m. Monday and was struck by Avon D. Mehaffey, 58, Center Road, Homeworth, who was northbound on 12th Street and slid left of center. Mehaffey was cited for failure to control and taken to the Akron City Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Lisbon
-The fire department responded to a car fire near the BP station on state Route 154 at 11:09 a.m. The female driver, who was from Steubenville, was uninjured but her Pontiac Sunfire was destroyed.
– Marla Burgess, East Chestnut, reported Monday her carbon monoxide detector was making a beeping sound as if the battery power was low. Firefighters arrived and determined the detector was defective.

County Sheriff
– Tiffany Lamb of Richmond Hill, Ga., asked the sheriff’s office to check on a domestic situation at a home on Lake Front Drive, Knox Township, at 8:16 a.m. Friday. Deputies spoke to a woman who lives there and she said that Lamb, who is her daughter, wants her to come visit, but the woman’s boyfriend does not want her to go. This resulted in an argument, but nothing else happened. The woman decided to go to her mother’s home in Sebring.
– Deputies responded to a four-vehicle chain-reaction accident involving a snow plow on state Route 14 near Macklin Road in Unity Township at 1:08 p.m. Saturday. Nicholas Ridzon of New Waterford was plowing his driveway when the plow end of his 1982 GMC farm truck was struck by a Ford Ranger driven by Edward Damron Jr. of New Springfield. Damron’s pickup truck was then struck by a van driven by Rennis Smith of Salem, and the van was then struck in the rear by a box truck operated by Blaine Taylor of Ravenna. Ridzon said his plow was not out in the westbound lane of Route 14 at the time of the accident, which was disputed by Damron. No citations were issued given the weather conditions at the time, nor was the deputy able to determine if anyone was at fault.
Columbiana
– An officer on patrol found an open door at Fairfield Commons at 2:27 a.m. Saturday, but the building was found to be secure and nothing seemed amiss.
– Police responded to a fire alarm at Parkside Health Center at 9:32 a.m. Saturday, but it turned out to have been pulled by a resident.
-An officer checked on a disabled vehicle on Homestead Drive at 1 p.m. Saturday, where a driver was changing a tire. Another caller reported at 3:40 p.m. someone appeared slumped over in a truck on Homestead Drive, and it turned out to be the same person, who was waiting for a tow truck.
Salem
– An officer saw a vehicle parked four feet from the curb in the 500 block of East State at 2:06 a.m. Sunday and a woman rummaging through a trash receptacle on the sidewalk. The woman said she was looking for an item she accidentally threw away earlier in the day.
– Anthony P. Lagamba II, 25, Canfield, was charged with OVI after a traffic stop for speed at Benton Road and West State at 2:55 a.m. Sunday.
– John R. Treleven, 30, 980 Jones Drive, Salem, was charged with assault after officers responded to his home at 5:36 a.m. Sunday and determined he had been in a physical altercation with his girlfriend in which she sustained injuries. The girlfriend was transported to SRMC.
– An officer responded to a stuck vehicle on Bricker Farms Lane at 8:06 a.m. Sunday and found it 200 yards off the roadway. The driver said he and his friends drive in the field all the time. He was warned to stop. Charges are pending.
– An officer responded to an East Fourth Street home at 12:45 p.m. Sunday to check on the well being of an elderly couple. The woman said her husband had fallen in the kitchen the previous night and the officer found him lying on the floor. First responders and an ambulance arrived to evaluate the man, who was conscious but unable to comprehend. At that time the woman became weak and incoherent. Both were transported to the hospital for evaluation.
POLICE
County Sheriff
– Stephen Aldridge, Wildwood Drive, Beloit, reported at 5:01 p.m. Thursday a suspicious red pick up truck in the area. A deputy checked out the truck and did not observe anything out of place. Aldridge was advised that only the property owner can have the vehicle removed.
– Paula Lang, West Egypt Road, Minerva, reported at 5:58 p.m. Thursday her ex-husband’s new girlfriend is harassing her, and that her ex-husband keeps stalking her.
– Patricia Fortunato, 47, South Market Street, East Palestine, reported at 10:24 p.m. Thursday she was assaulted by Lori Long, 42, East Clark Street, East Palestine, at the State Line Tavern. Fortunato, who claimed Long hit her in the face, was reported to be very intoxicated and did not have any visible marks on her face. An ambulance arrived, but she later refused medical treatment. Meanwhile, Long said that Fortunato hit Long first, and bartender Kelly Likovich also said Fortunato made the first move. Because of conflicting stories, no charges were filed against either party.
– Dennis Dotson, Steubenville Pike, Lisbon, reported at 12:59 p.m. Friday that money and credit cards were stolen. He later reported at 7:32 p.m. that his mother gave him back the money and cards.
– Deputies spoke with Lisa Ellington, an employee of Chesapeake Energy, who reported at 1:54 p.m. Friday someone broke onto the company’s well site on state Route 45, damaged the gate, went onto the pad and did doughnuts. She said they were able to secure the gate despite the heavy damage.
-A 16-year-old girl from Malone Road in Salineville reported at 3:51 p.m. Friday she had an argument with a 15-year-old boy, then he pushed her around, pulled her off the couch and twisted her right wrist, which a deputy observed was swollen. The boy was taken into custody for domestic violence and transported to the Tobin Center.
– Rachael Mayle, state Route 7, East Fairfield, reported at 5:10 p.m. Friday someone broke into her house by kicking in the air conditioner unit and stole a 42-inch flat screen TV, a laptop, a shotgun and jewelry.
– Don Shahaw, Rochester Road, East Rochester, reported at 6:03 p.m. Friday someone broke into his camper and stole two DVD players a griddle and a movie projector.
– Faiz Shaheen of Canton, an employee for Chesapeake Energy of Louisville, reported at 4:49 p.m. Saturday he went to open a gate at the Zehentbauer Well site on Lindesmith Road. The gate, however, was caught by the wind and hit the front driver’s side fender of the truck, leaving a dent.
Columbiana
– Jack Costa, North Bayshore Drive, reported at 11:27 a.m. Friday his fire alarm keeps going off and would like an inspector to check it.
– A man reported at 12:39 p.m. Friday a black Cadillac was parked in the crosswalk across from Wellman’s Flower Shop. Officers observed no parking violations.

– Susan M. Sansenbaugher, Heck Road, New Springfield, was backing out of her parking spot at the Huntington Bank at 12:08 p.m. Thursday when she struck a parked vehicle owned by Kimberly S. Wolf, West South Range Road, Salem. Functional minor damage was reported on both vehicles.
Lisbon
– Katelyn Blythe, North Beaver Street, reported at 3:43 p.m. Wednesday her boyfriend, Nickolas Good, keeps receiving threats from her husband, William Valentine. An officer advised Blythe to call back if the husband should arrive.
-Josh Yost, employee at Dollar General, reported at 6:23 p.m. Thursday a 16-year-old boy took a DVD and ran out of the store while the boy’s mother, Tracey Badger, was there. Badger, who remained cooperative through the ordeal, was also attempting to bring her son back into the store. The boy returned and gave back the DVD, but both were warned never to return to the store or trespassing charges could be filed. Both agreed not to return.
-Cory Libert, East Lincoln Way, reported at 6:57 p.m. Thursday his wife, Jennifer Libert, assaulted him and left the apartment. He said her dog, a pit bull, is very hyper and was on the bed, and he shoved the dog off. She then reportedly grabbed him around the throat and told him to leave the dog alone, to which he then pushed her onto the bed. He declined to press charges.
– A caller reported at 2:37 p.m. Friday a piece of equipment parked by the former Sweet Jane’s restaurant is leaking fluid. An officer found hydraulic fluid running down the curb by Barborak’s Law Office, which was cleaned up by the fire department.

– Police responded to the 400 block of South Broadway Avenue at 10:42 a.m. Friday where a resident reported his vehicle had been struck overnight while parked along the roadway.
– Police responded to a 1200 block Cedar Ridge Drive apartment for a reported burglary at 3:51 p.m. Friday, but the complainant denied that he wanted anything done about it.
– An officer responded to a West Pershing Street home at 4:20 p.m. Friday to check the well being of a female juvenile who was reportedly yelling out a window for help. The girl’s parent said that she was yelling because she was being disciplined.
– A West Wilson Street resident reported a list of stolen items on station at 4:39 p.m. Friday.
– Nikki C. Wagner, 40, Alliance, was cited for driving under suspension after an officer observed a van being followed around the city parking lot at 7:56 p.m. Friday. The officer found the dispute to be civil and originating in Goshen Township.
– An officer responded to a 1300 block Westview Drive at 8:20 p.m. Friday where a resident reported three males had knocked on his window then fled on foot. The officer was unable to find anyone in the area.
– Police responded to an East Third Street home at 8:23 p.m. Friday where a resident reported getting a dog from someone on Facebook who then decided they wanted the dog back. He was advised that it was a civil matter.
– A Liberty Street resident reported at 9:57 p.m. Friday that someone had stolen her bank account information and then took money from her savings account. She also reported someone had taken two packages from outside her home that she confirmed had been delivered.
– Ashley S. Baddeley, 346 W. Wilson St., was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop in the 100 block of West State Street at 10:22 p.m. Friday.
– Officers responded to a security alarm at an 1800 block Shady Lane home at 12:48 a.m. Saturday, but found everything secure.
– An officer responded to a Park Avenue home at 8:59 a.m. Saturday where a resident reported a Fair Avenue neighbor keeps using his driveway to access his garage.
– An East Third Street resident reported at 10:51 a.m. Saturday reported he had provided personal information to a Facebook lottery before realizing it was a scam.
– Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on East State Street at 11:55 a.m. Saturday in which Reana Johnston, Salem, was westbound and stopped at Vine Avenue and was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Bradley Withrow, Salem. No injuries were reported and no citations issued.
– An officer responded to a reported of a group of juveniles throwing snowballs as passing vehicles in the 1000 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 11:58 a.m. Saturday, but was unable to find them.
– Nolan N. Schaff, Salem, reported at 12:40 p.m. Saturday that he was eastbound in the 2400 block of East Pershing Street and collided with a westbound vehicle that had slid on the snow covered road and then fled the area.
– A Blue Lantern Drive resident reported on station at 1:36 p.m. Saturday that someone at approximately 11 p.m. Friday had taken a wallet containing personal information from her vehicle while it was parked in the 2800 block of East State Street.

– Jared Jones, an employee of Damascus Friends Church, reported at 10:19 p.m. Thursday there was a suspicious vehicle there. Deputies checked the area, but did not find a vehicle matching the description.
– Mary Morgan, Homeworth Road, Homeworth, reported at 3:44 p.m. Thursday someone contacted her from the IRS regarding someone else filing a claim in the name of her and her husband, Dave.
– Stephan Pickens, Haiti Road, Salineville, reported at 4:28 p.m. Thursday that sometime earlier someone broke into his home and stole a 55-inch flat screen TV, an X-box and six X-box games.
– Abygail Prendergast, Lake Street, Beloit, reported Wednesday that overnight someone broke out the driver side front door window and rear hatch window out of her 2004 Honda Santa Fe.
– Pastor Randy Clark, Carmel Achor Road, Rogers, reported at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday someone is stealing heating fuel oil from the Union Bible Baptist Church. The oil company checked the tank on Tuesday to see if it needed filled and it was half full. They came back on Wednesday to fill it up and found the tank empty.
Lisbon
– Police assisted a sheriff’s deputy in responding to a domestic dispute on Grant Street at 8:53 p.m. Wednesday. The male half of the dispute left prior to their arrival.
– A resident brought his son to the police department on Wednesday because the youth does not feel safe at his mother’s home, also in Lisbon, after finding marijuana and drug paraphernalia there. The boy said the water had been off from December until this week. The father had already contacted Children Services and was told to also contact his attorney.
Columbiana
– The burglar alarm went off at the Burger King restaurant at 12:45 a.m. Thursday. The door was open but no employees were around. A restaurant contact person was notified.
– The burglar alarm went off at 315 Parkview Drive at 3 p.m. Thursday but it was due to a malfunction.
– Susan M. Sansenbaugher, 54, Heck Road, New Springfield, reportedly backed into a vehicle driven by Kimberly S. Wolf, 54, West South Range Road, Salem, in the Huntington Bank lot at 11 a.m. Thursday.
– An employee at the East Park Veterinary Clinic reported at 5:11 a.m. Thursday there was a Chevy Cruze in their lot and it appeared to have damaged the fence. Police determined the Cruze had pushed some piled-up snow into the fence when it was parked. The owner, Cara English, was unaware what had occurred and said she only parked in the lot because her parking space was solid ice.
East Palestine
– A passerby reported seeing the front door open to a vacant home at 289 S. Market St. at 2:22 p.m. Jan. 15. An officer checked the residence and everything appeared to be fine.
– Police responded to a report of a woman asking patrons for money at several businesses on South Market at 9:25 a.m. Jan. 16. The woman resides at American Home Care group home and was told to quit bothering store customers or she would be charged with trespassing.
St. Clair Township
– A police cruiser driven by Patrolman Max Nolder, 39, was damaged after being struck by a vehicle driven by Deborah M. Stewart, 68, Canton Street in the Walmart parking lot. According to reports, Stewart was eastbound and stopped at an intersection but had difficulty seeing around a pile of snow and pulled into the intersection, striking Nolder, who was southbound, turning right. No injuries or charges were reported.
Salem
– Police at 12:25 p.m. Thursday assisted the county drug task force in executing a search at a home in the 600 block of East Third. Several people were checked for warrants and some evidence was seized. Another address in the 1200 block of Cleveland was checked with two people checked for warrants. Some evidence was seized.

– Barbara Beverly, Canal Street, Hanoverton, reported at 6:05 p.m. Wednesday reported at 6:05 p.m. Wednesday she believes someone she knows is attempting to get into her home when she is not there. The bottom of the door was cracked, but no one got inside.
– Jessica Moore, Lake Street, Beloit, reported Wednesday sometime overnight someone broke the rear window on her Jeep Commander. She originally believed it broke due to the weather, but then learned some of her neighbor’s windows were also broken.
– Harold Barnes, Blacks Road, Lisbon, reported at 11 a.m. Wednesday his neighbor, Shawn Ramsey, has a pit bull, which started to attack him so he grabbed a spud to defend himself. Barnes said he told Ramsey if the dog bites him, he would kill it and Ramsey reportedly threatened to beat him and sexually assault him like he did “the boys in prison.”
– Gordon Todd, Pine Hollow Road, Rogers, reported at 3:07 p.m. Wednesday he contacted Social Security in regards to getting his information to file taxes and they told him his identity has been stolen.
– Sherri Richmond, Blacks Road, Lisbon, reported at 7:49 p.m. Wednesday a suspicious vehicle was sitting behind the old dump. Deputies found a parked 2004 Chrysler occupied by a man and a woman. They said they were talking and deputies found no illegal activity.
– Katrina Williams, Lake Street, Beloit, reported Wednesday the driver’s side rear window was broken out of her 2008 GMC Envoy sometime during the night. The door handle was also broken.
– Connie Valvez, Walnut Street, Rogers, reported at 2:22 p.m. Monday, her daughter has been using her debit card number to make unauthorized purchases. She said she came up from South Carolina to stay with her daughter, but her daughter took off with a guy and Valvez’ debit card while leaving her here to watch her grandchildren. Purchases have been for hotels and meals in the Myrtle Beach area during January and February totaling about $400.
– Brandy Moore, Elkton Road, Lisbon, reported at 1 p.m. Monday she has been receiving harassing phone calls from a woman she knows in Cincinnati. The woman has been calling Moore’s workplace trying to get her fired. She also receives calls on her cell phone and home phone. Moore had already filed a report with the Lisbon police due to working in town and shortly after the police called the woman and requested her to cease calling, Moore reportedly got a threatening call. Deputies explained how to go about getting a protection order.
Highway Patrol
– Robert L. Myers, 76, state Route 46, New Waterford, was making a left turn off state Route 7 southbound into a private parking lot in Middleton Township at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday. Daniel L. Peebles, 63, Sprucevale Road, Rogers, was northbound on Route 7 and went off the right edge of the road to avoid hitting Myers and struck a utility pole and a parked vehicle. Myers was cited for right of way turning left.
– Susan M. Weaver, 64, Chester, W.Va., was northbound on state Route 45 in Salem Township at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday and struck Travis D. Sorrells, 30, Glasgow, Va., who was also southbound and failed to yield making a left turn into a private drive. Sorrells was cited for right of way turning left.
– Kari L. House, 26, Stookesberry Road, Lisbon, was northbound on state Route 45 in Madison Township at 6:40 p.m. Monday and went off the right side into a ditch and overturned. She was cited for failure to control and taken to the Salem hospital with serious injuries.
East Palestine
– At 12:47 p.m. Wednesday a postal carrier reported there was an aggressive dog running at large on West Grant Street. Police found the dog in the 400 block of West North Avenue and were able to follow it to its home. The dog’s owner said the dog had broken its chain and gotten loose. Police warned them that if the dog gets loose in the future they would be cited.
– A Park Avenue woman reported at 4:24 p.m. Tuesday the owner of a nearby auto repair business was parking on her property making it difficult for her to get into her house. The woman said the vehicle is sometimes parked in her own driveway for hours. Police told the woman the car could be towed.
– Tracy J. Meek, Forbes Street, reported at 4:11 p.m. Wednesday that while at her West Main Street business an older man had asked her juvenile daughter to go on a date with him. Police found the man at the American Home Health Care on West Main Street and warned that if he returned to the business he would be charged with criminal trespassing. The man said he would not return to the business.
– Candice Desanzo, East Martin Street, reported at 11:35 a.m. Sunday the front door of her home was standing wide open despite the freezing temperatures and she thought it was suspicious. Police checked the home and found a resident had burned some food on the stove and opened the door to air the house out.
– Carrie L. Stone, North Walnut Street, reported at 11:51 a.m. Monday someone stole prescription medication from Elizabeth Miller’s home on Howell Avenue.
– Police stopped Michael S. Mizenko, 58, West Street, for only having on working headlight while driving on North Market Street at 8:17 p.m. Tuesday. While checking the status of his license police discovered there was an active warrant for his arrest through Beaver County, Pa. Mizenko was then arrested on the warrant and charged with fugitive from justice and taken to the Columbiana County Jail.
– Lisa M. Foreman, North Liberty Street, reported at 3:33 p.m. Tuesday someone used her identity to file a fraudulent tax return.
– At 1:19 p.m. Tuesday police warned a trespasser to leave the East Palestine High School property.
Columbiana
– An East Park Avenue man reported at 1:20 a.m. Wednesday a Heck’s delivery truck was driving through his front yard.
– A woman reported at 1:40 p.m. Wednesday someone in a white van was soliciting in the Dollar General parking lot. Police found the man, identified as Wasun Udomthosakul, and warned him for soliciting.
Lisbon
– Robert Deal, West Lincoln Way, reported Wednesday someone opened a credit card in his name and used the card to purchase $493 in clothing in Columbus on Jan. 29.
– Carla Moore, Moore Street, reported Tuesday the back window of her vehicle was broken while it was parked in her driveway.
– Melissa Timmons, North Market Street, reported at 5:43 a.m. Tuesday it sounded like someone was trying to get in her home through the locked back door. Police did not see any fresh footprints in the snow.
Salem
– Michael Eberhardt, 23, of 1270 Cedar Ridge Drive, Apt. D, was cited for possession of marijuana after officers following up on a disturbance detected the odor coming from his apartment at 12:29 a.m. Thursday. The disturbance had been reported at 12:14 a.m. by a tenant in different apartment who reported hearing what sounded like things being thrown and threats and somebody being thrown into a wall in another apartment. That was just an argument.
– Dustin Brayshaw,, 21, of 1270 Cedar Ridge Drive, Apt. C, was charged with obstructing official business after police were called to the apartment at 8:46 p.m. Wednesday for a possible assault.
– David G. Gasior, 41, last known address 157 W. Fifth St., was charged with disorderly conduct after police were called at 6:22 p.m. Wednesday to a West Pershing Street home for an intoxicated man.
– Police responded to Walmart at 10:40 a.m. Wednesday a Lisbon woman said the child kicked the vehicle lock and locked her out. The vehicle was unlocked without incident.
Perry Township
– A state Route 9 man at 11:36 p.m. Wednesday said he was outside and heard strange noises coming from one of his neighbors’ homes. The noise was determined to be a flag whipping in the wind.
– Donald Mohr, 50, of 1436 Benton Road, was cited for fictitious plates and marijuana possession after a traffic stop in the lot of Annabell’s on Benton Road at 10:32 a.m. Wednesday.
Goshen Police District
– Lloyd V. Miller, 67, 8545 W. South Range Road, Salem, was cited for failure to control after wrecking on Middletown Road near Lisbon Road at 12:08 p.m. Tuesday.
East Liverpool
– Officers responded Tuesday to First Avenue to remove someone and reported finding Ronald A. Keyes, 51, of that address, intoxicated. He was taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct/intoxication and also served with two outstanding warrants.
– Called Tuesday night to May Street for a disturbance, officers reported finding Megan M. Johnston, 30, highly intoxicated and causing the disturbance due to a fight with her boyfriend. The boyfriend declined to file charges. Officers reported that Johnston gave her maiden name and other false identification information when questioned and was charged with falsification and disorderly conduct/intoxication. She also had an outstanding warrant from Mahoning County.

– Edytha Rochester, Nicolaus Avenue, Wellsville, reported at 1 p.m. Tuesday her son, Clinton Smith, has been using her Mastercard without her permission and has run up an unknown amount on her card. Smith reportedly used to have his own card on the account, but she had made him cut it up.
– Jessy Rhodes, Salem Alliance Road, Salem, reported at 12:29 p.m. Tuesday his 1994 Ford Explorer was broken into with numerous stereo equipment items removed. The hatch was open and Rhodes said it would have taken someone a long time to remove the items.
– Lynette Sprouse, Graham Street, Lisbon, reported at 6:07 p.m. Tuesday Mike Copeland was at her home looking for money owed him and would not leave. Sprouse said she paid him the money, but then he wanted the washer and dryer he gave her. Copeland said he only let Sprouse borrow the washer and dryer. She said he could have them back on Friday and he said they would probably be damaged by then as he left.
– Mike Long of Texas asked deputies Tuesday evening to check on his grandfather, Gordan Long, state Route 164, Columbiana, after not being able to reach him for a few days. Deputies were unable to contact him, but a neighbor told them Long fell a few days earlier and was currently at Salem Regional Medical Center.

– Bobbi J. Smith, 39, Tower Road, Salem, was westbound on Coffee School Road in Butler Township at 3:20 p.m. Monday and failed to stop at a stop sign and struck Frank Garrett Rowan, 18, state Route 644, Kensington, who was southwestbound on Woodsdale Road. Smith was cited for stop sign.
– Ruth A. Martin, 46, Manor Road, Minerva, was northbound on Bower Road in West Township at 8:35 p.m. Monday and Fred M. Galle, 48, was westbound and they sideswiped each other. No citations were issued due to conflicting stories.
Columbiana
– Police helped a man get to a gas station after his vehicle became disabled on state Route 14 near County Line Road at 3:23 a.m. Tuesday.
– Albert Bricker, New Castle, Pa., was southbound on Lisbon Street at 9:13 a.m. Tuesday and Sara Bricker, Columbiana, was eastbound and stopped for a stop sign and then failed to yield right-of-way and struck Albert Bricker on the passenger side. No citations were issued.
Lisbon
– A caller reported at 7 p.m. Monday that an elderly man had fallen several times on East Lincoln Way. Police arrived and spoke to the man, who said he was fine. Police watched as the man continued to walk on the sidewalk and he did not fall.
– Police were asked to check on the welfare of a man living on East Chestnut Street at 8:37 p.m. Monday, and the man told the police he was fine. Police told the man his son had contacted them because he had not heard from him in a couple of days, and the man was told he should give his son a call.
– Police responded to a report of yelling coming from a home on North Market at 11:43 p.m. Tuesday and spoke with a woman who was arguing with her teenage daughter because she had a male companion at the apartment earlier in the evening. The daughter was told to mind her mother, and the companion was given a ride home by police.
– A grandfather reported Feb. 5 his 15-year-old grandson was involved in a fight at the high school and he wanted to file charges against the other youth. The fight had been videotaped by another student and it showed the 15-year-old smacking the other boy on the back of the head. The other boy responded by slamming the 15-year-old to the ground.
– Victoria Pierson, Maple Street, reported her gas meter was knocked off the house at 4:30 a.m. Feb. 5. Police found tire tracks in the snow from a vehicle that backed out of a driveway on South Lincoln and planned to contact the residents.
New Waterford
– Police responded to the 46000 block of North State Street at 12:25 p.m. Jan. 31 where a residential burglary alarm was going off. Everything appeared OK.
– At 3:46 p.m. Jan. 30, police responded to the Vittle Village for reports of a wounded duck that was threatening customers. Police found a goose in front of the main door, pecking at the glass. A baton was used to push it back a safe distance and it had a slight cut on its foot and was bleeding. The injury did not appear to be life threatening. It was placed in a large trash bag and transported to the village park and released.
– Police responded to the post office at 3:42 p.m. Feb. 5 where a vehicle had struck the building. The postmaster said there was damage inside. The driver remembered pulling into the parking lot and his wife said he “blacked out” and had a history of diabetes. He was upset and shaking. EMS arrived and evaluated the driver. Photos were taken of the vehicle, which appeared to have cosmetic damage, and of the building.
– At 10:05 p.m. Feb. 2 police were dispatched to the Vittle Village where a man was standing in the porch area and said he was waiting for a ride. He was identified as being from Rochester, Pa., and taken to the police station where contacted his girlfriend who responded to pick him up.
Perry Township
– Police responded at 1:39 a.m. Wednesday to the trailer park in the 400 block of Benton Road for a reported fight. It was found that no fight was occurring, just loud persons. All were identified and checked for warrants and told to keep the noise down. Police were assisted by Salem units.
– A resident on East Pidgeon Road contacted police at 4:42 p.m. Tuesday to report a fraudulent charge on her bank account. Police contacted the company that made the withdrawal from the account and they denied police any information about the person who authorized the charge. The resident was told to dispute the charge with the bank.
Salem
– Jean Fehr, 88, of South Union Avenue, was cited for reasonable control after her westbound vehicle on East Pershing struck a parked vehicle facing westbound owned by Nicholas Rusyn, 56, of South Union Avenue, at 4:12 p.m. Tuesday.
East Liverpool
– Officers were called to a First Avenue residence to remove a person and reported finding Ronald Keyes, 50, intoxicated and with a pint of whiskey in his coat pocket. He was found to have two outstanding warrants and was taken into custody.
– Ambar R. Thompson, 54, Georgetown, Pa., was cited for failure to control after her vehicle reportedly struck another driven by Joshua R. Franklin, 22, East Fifth Street on Fifth Street. A passenger in Franklin’s vehicle, Joshua C. Wells, 26, Pennsylvania Avenue, was transported to East Liverpool City Hospital by Tri-County ambulance for injuries received in the accident.
– Officers responded to Woodland Hills for a man passed out in a car, where a group of people advised they had broken out the window of the vehicle to reach the man because they feared he was having a medical crisis and would bump the car into gear. The vehicle had been accelerating to t he point they thought its engine would ignite, they told officers. The man had gone into a nearby apartment, and officers learned he had been drinking and passed out in the vehicle while trying to clean its interior. He was staying at the apartment overnight, and the resident assured them he would create no more problems.
– Arian M. Douglas, Railroad Street, reported the passenger side window of her vehicle broken out and her wallet stolen.
– Dorian Anderson, Pennsylvania Avenue, reported a brick thrown through the windshield of her vehicle, which was sitting disabled in a parking lot.
– Angela R. Kimble, Morton Street, reported her garage broken into and toy car taken. She advised officers she suspects one of her ex-boyfriend’s new girlfriends.
– Responding to a call of a possible overdose, officers found a man on the porch at an East Eighth Street residence. When an officer shone a flashlight in the man’s eyes, he sat up and was speaking, and the officer reported seeing a syringe containing a brown-colored liquid sticking out of his coat pocket. The man was transported to the hospital by Tri-County ambulance, and the liquid from the syringe will be tested.
– Breanna J. Reed, Heights Manor, reported the father of her child, David Cole, became angry when she asked him about messages on his phone from another female. She said he threw food on the floor, broke a bowl and kicked and broke a plastic tote before taking the keys to her car and leaving. Officers sought a warrant for Cole’s arrest from the law director and reported he was taken into custody the next day at Reed’s residence.
– Howard L. Powell, Dodge Street, reported four chain saws taken from a storage garage he owns.
– After a caller reported seeing a man sitting in a car outside his house on Fairmont Street, texting on two different phones for 15 minutes, officers took Patrick N. Moore, 37, into custody on outstanding warrants out of Jefferson County.
– Kenny Gooding, no address listed, reported he was house sitting on Erie Street and someone broke into the residence, taking a 60-inch television.
– Called to Lincoln Avenue for an assault, officers found Angel Mayhew, 43, with visible injuries she said were inflicted by a man she knows who asked to use her phone then hit her face off the wall. Officers reported Mayhew was intoxicated and rambling and declined medical treatment.
– Donald Cramer, Michigan Street, reported his vehicle broken into and a Glock 9mm handgun taken.
– John S. Joy, Riverview Street, reported a former resident came to the house and ripped out the cable wires.
– Eleanor J. Johnson, 77, no address listed, reported she was purchasing three money orders at the Convenient Food Mart on Lisbon Street when a clerk walked to the back room then returned and grabbed her arm, demanding the rest of the money in her purse, which was about $500. Johnson told police she left after that and went home but failed to report the alleged crime until the next day because she was sick. The clerk she accused denied these actions, telling officers she never demanded nor took any additional money from Johnson, whom she said was confused about what was said. She will provide surveillance video to officers.
– Audrey Chase, Minerva Street, reported the door kicked in and an Xbox system and television stolen.
– Amber Thomas, 21, Sophia Street, reported she and her boyfriend broke up then decided to work things out and he came to her home so they could talk. An argument ensued during which he reportedly shoved her into the wall and threatened to hit her, Thomas reported.
St. Clair Township
– Richard W. Heffner, 36, Shippingport, Pa., was arrested Tuesday and charged with theft after the manager at Giant Eagle reported seeing him conceal two night lights valued at $24.43 in his jacket. Heffner reportedly went through the checkout and paid for an energy drink but not the lights. When police arrived, Heffner reportedly began cussing at employees and told them he had money to pay for the lights and would do so since he got caught. Officers reported that, en route to the jail, Heffner laughed as he told them he had stolen steaks in Pennsylvania while he had $500 in his pocket and had been arrested before for theft. During a search of Heffner subsequent to his arrest, officers reported finding a receipt from METH check stating he had exceeded the amount of Sudafed he can purchase and noting he had been denied the purchase of Sudafed that day. They reported Heffner also had batteries and makeup in his possession they believe were stolen from the store.

County Sheriff
– Janine and Larry Welsby, Glasgow Road, Wellsville, reported at 8:57 a.m. Monday the neighbors have numerous hound dogs and the dogs bark the entire time the neighbors are at home. Larry and Sue Mellott had been cited into Municipal Court in January and were fined $50. The problem continues to exist, the Welsbys said.
– Robert Chamberlain, an Elkrun Township trustee, reported at 9:51 a.m. Monday someone dumped a truckload of construction debris on Fairmont Road. Chamberlain had a crew go out and clean up the mess so traffic could be restored on the roadway. A receipt was found with the name Luke Trimnel on it. Deputies called Trimnel, who said he owns a construction company currently working in Beaver County, Pa. He did not know anything about the matter, but offered to send the township $125 to help defray the expenses of cleaning up the roadway.
– United Local Elementary reported at 1:58 p.m. Monday an 11-year-old East Palestine girl, who was placed at their school through Juvenile Court, was being disruptive in class, using profanity and acting unruly. While the class was outside, the girl must have picked up a rock, because when she became upset with the teacher she threw the rock at her. The girl’s father was called to come to the school and take her home.
– Randy Smith, state Route 14, East Palestine, reported at 5:54 a.m. Tuesday a suspicious vehicle sitting next to the road. Deputies found a school transport van sitting on the side of the road and locked with no one in sight. Dispatchers called East Palestine police to see if they could contact the owner of the van. It was learned the van broke down, but it was being picked up soon.
– The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office reported at 4:24 a.m. Tuesday they were searching for Donald Duncan, who reportedly left the scene of an accident and has a warrant. Deputies spoke to a sister, who said he now lives in Salineville but gave them no address or phone number.
– Priscella Kale, state Route 644, Salineville, reported at 4:45 p.m. Monday she came home to find her breezeway door kicked in along with the inside door. Her bedroom and her daughter’s bedroom were ransacked. Her TV and her daughter’s jewelry box were taken. The door frames were damaged.
– Doug Ripple, Youngstown, at 7:06 p.m. Monday asked deputies to check on people staying in a camper in the woods across from an address on Laughlin Road. Deputies could not find the camper and then learned it is about two miles back in the woods and Ripple did not know the names of the people supposedly staying there. Deputies told him they could not get to the camper due to the ice.
– Jesse Wamer, state Route 45, Salem, reported an issue with trespassing at 7:31 p.m. Monday. The neighbor, Athena Nicholas, said it was her niece’s vehicle which had gotten stuck attempting to turn around. The vehicle was going to be towed out later Monday night.
– Cindy Conrad reported at 8:49 p.m. Monday two bags of some unknown white powder was found on her picnic table at the Butler Mobile City. The bags were recovered and logged into evidence.
– James Hartshorne, Canal Street, East Rochester, reported at 7:09 p.m. Monday people were naked in their own home on U.S. Route 30, where it appeared they were dancing in front of the window with no curtains. Deputies checked the area without finding anyone.
– Nichelle McGrath of the One Stop in Hanoverton reported at 4:43 a.m. Monday someone broke into the business. No further details were given.
Lisbon
– Renee L. Snyder, 46, was arrested for resisting arrest and public intoxication after reportedly refusing help from police who found her on South Market Street trying to push a grocery cart full of groceries to her home up on Steubenville Pike at 1:43 a.m. Tuesday. According to police, Snyder had purchased groceries earlier in the evening from Save A Lot, which closes at 9 p.m., and began her trek home but stopped first at the Night Court bar, leaving the grocery cart outside in a parking spot. Later, police came upon Snyder near the South Market Street bridge and she was having trouble standing. Police reportedly tried to assist her but Snyder was uncooperative. Snyder was arrested for public intoxication and then she began to resist, resulting in the additional charge. Once in the police cruiser, Snyder reportedly tried to kick out the rear passenger window. Her groceries were taken to the police station for storage until she can pick them up.
Columbiana
– A North Main Street woman reported at 7:46 a.m. Monday her husband with Alzheimer’s left the house to go walking. Police found the man not far from his home and returned him there.
– The manager of the Marathon gas station on West Park Avenue reported at 8:55 a.m. Monday the company has been getting repeated phone calls after firing an employee.
– Tim Wilson of AAA reported at 5:33 p.m. Monday traffic control was needed for a disabled vehicle on state Route 7 and 14 until a tow truck could arrive. Police found the disabled vehicle in a nearby parking lot with its four-ways on and there were no problems.
– A man reported at 7:59 p.m. Monday there was a reckless driver southbound on Route 164 in a gray Honda Accord with temporary license plates. Police checked the area but could not find the vehicle.
– Robert Macklin reported at 10:13 p.m. Monday he received information that a woman on Union Street was threatening suicide. Police went to the home and talked to the woman, who had been sleeping, and she said she was not going to harm herself.
Salem
– Noreen Smolira, 50, East Third Street, was cited for hit/skip-private property after allegedly traveling the wrong way down the aisle of the SRMC parking deck with traffic trying to exit and colliding with a parked vehicle owned by Dave Crawford at 1:23 p.m. Tuesday. Smolira left and was later contacted at her home and cited. Damage was minor.
– Police were called to check the well-being of a Franklin Avenue woman at 10:35 a.m. Tuesday after a doctor’s office in Columbiana was speaking with her by phone and the line went dead. Police learned Ohio Edison was working in the area and shut the power off.
– An a caller at 5:55 p.m. Monday reported a harassing text message from Denver. The message of a sexual nature was identical to that of another complaint on the same date which originated from a different phone number in a different state. The caller was told to ignore the messages and notify the cell provider.
– A woman on Deming Street reported at 4:48 p.m. Monday that she received several harassing text messages sent to her phone Monday and Sunday. The messages appeared to be trying to lure her into calling the number back. Police researched the two numbers online and noted numerous other people had received unwanted texts from them.
– A small child was reported unattended in the 1600 block of East State at 3:53 p.m. Monday. The parent had walked up the street to pick up another child from the school bus stop while the child’s grandmother had been watching the children in the house and was not aware the child had gotten outside.
– John R. Hall, 45, Somer Street, Leetonia, was cited for failure to yield after he hit a vehicle driven by Susan Shuman, 51, of Orchard Court, at the intersection of Cunningham and Butcher at 2:56 p.m. Monday.
East Liverpool
– Officers responded Monday night to the home of Nancy Smith, Orchard Grove Avenue, for two brothers fighting. Smith told officers she returned home to find her son Adam R. Smith, 24, completely naked, fighting with her son Robert J. Smith II, 28. She said both were highly intoxicated and she could not handle them. Officers spoke to both men and they agreed they would go to bed, but they were called back to the residence by Mrs. Smith. She told officers that, after they left, Robert said he was going to smoke in the house and she grabbed the cigarette from him, then he went to the basement and urinated on the floor. He then went up to Adam’s room and picked a fight, she told officers, telling them that Robert was the problem and needed to go to jail. When officers approached him, Robert told them to take him to jail, and he was arrested for disorderly conduct/intoxication and taken to the police station. While escorting Robert to the cruiser, he verbally abused officers and at the police department reportedly spit on Capt. Patrick Wright, also calling Wright’s mother a derogatory name. Robert was charged with harassment with a bodily substance. Officers were called back to the Smith residence after this arrest when Mrs. Smith said her son Adam came downstairs and locked her out of the house, then was unlocking it and pulling the door shut every time she tried to open it. He was charged with disorderly conduct/intoxication.
St. Clair Township
– During a traffic stop on Yeager Drive Sunday, officers found the driver, David Brown, Salineville, had a suspended license, and he was cited for driving under suspension. His passenger, Ryon J. Johnson, 37, no address listed, had an active warrant out of Stark County but that agency declined to pick him up. Johnson was asked to step out of the vehicle and was reportedly seen trying to hide something. The vehicle was searched by K-9 officer Axel, who alerted on the passenger side floor. An open can of beer was found under the passenger seat, and Johnson was asked to remove his boots. Officers reported he had $2,480 under the sole of one boot and a bag of marijuana in the other boot. Johnson was charged with possession of marijuana and open container.
– Officers responded to a South Meadowbrook Circle residence for a man who fell, with on other details reported.
– Patrick A. Murphy said he has worked for a local car care business since August and paychecks he received in December and January bounced. He also reported not being paid for work on other days during January. He was advised to follow up with the law director, with charges pending.
– Officers responded to a report of an erratic driver who was traveling in the wrong lane on St. Clair and pulled over the truck on McGuffey Drive. They reported the driver, James M. Bowersock, said he had been using his cell phone. There was no sign of impairment, and no charges were filed.
– Employees at the YMCA reported Sunday smelling smoke and officers found smoke coming from a floodlight in the ground. The fire department responded.
– Officers were called Monday for a person walking into a South Park Circle home and then walking back out. They determined she was a health care nurse who had walked into the wrong home.

– Ryan Beavers, Carrollton, reported at 11:45 a.m. Saturday both the front and back license plates were missing from his green 1994 Ford Ranger, which had been parked at his place of business on Mountz Road in Butler Township.
– Crystal Burns, Lynchburg Road, Kensington, reported at 9:05 a.m. Friday someone used her Key Bank debit card to make online purchases. VisionOffers.com had withdrawn about $4 and $94 in two transactions. She canceled her card.
– Terry Hill, Las Vegas, reported at 8:15 p.m. Sunday multiple family members were out to dinner and an argument ensued between Ruth Lewis and her sister about the recent death of a family member. The argument resumed at their mother’s home on Homeworth Road and at one point, Lewis threatened to shoot Hill with a .22 caliber rifle and then picked up a phone and threw it at him striking him in the head. Lewis was charged with domestic violence.
– Aaron Tucker, Old Route 45, Lisbon, reported at 6:37 p.m. Sunday his ex, Randy Miller, is trespassing on his property when dropping off their children.
– Joseph Brandon, state Route 45, Lisbon, reported at 10:06 p.m. Saturday he was arguing with his fiance about their relationship and was concerned it was escalating, so he called deputies and reported he wanted to harm himself. Deputies explained the procedure was to take him by ambulance for evaluation and he instead asked to be taken to jail. Deputies calmed him down for a short period and then he decided he was going back inside for a “dip.” Deputies explained he had to wait until another deputy was done speaking with his fiance inside, but he refused to wait and was charged with obstructing official business.
– Carmelo Chase, Amsterdam, reported at 9:26 p.m. Saturday he was at Forest Lanes when Theresa Chase showed up there. She has a protection order against him. Deputies explained that even if he was there first, he must leave. He agreed to retrieve his jacket and leave.
– Robert E. Rice, state Route 170, East Palestine, and highway patrol trooper Vic Wolfe reported at 11:41 p.m. Thursday Rice’s vehicle was found in a ditch at state Route 170 and Fredericktown Clarkson Road, overturned. Rice told deputies he left his truck at the bottom of his long driveway at 4 p.m. on Jan. 30 and did not know it had been stolen until he was contacted by the patrol.
– Dorothy J. Cutlip, state Route 9, Hanoverton, reported at 3:26 a.m. Sunday her ex-boyfriend, Frank McIntosh II, whom she has a protection order against, has been calling her and sending her text messages which are vulgar and threatening. Some of the messages claimed McIntosh was going to assault her new boyfriend, Earl Nemeth. In a text message he reportedly called Cutlip a vulgar name, admitted he had hatred in him and he was going to take it out on Nemeth, then ended with the phrase “Go Bucks.” Deputies were unable to locate McIntosh and a warrant was issued.

– Daela M. Austrino, 31, Somer Street, Leetonia, was cited for failure to control after wrecking on Lisbon Road in Salem Township at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
– Erin M. Merrick, 35, Sandy Springs Road, Minerva, was eastbound on state Route 172 in Hanover Township at 4 p.m. Thursday and went off the right side to avoid being struck by a westbound vehicle driven by Khorolgarav Urtabayar, 34, Everett, Wash., who was attempting to pass an ODOT truck that had pulled off the side of the road. Urtabayar was cited for improper passing.
– Troopers are looking for the driver of a vehicle that was eastbound on state Route 172 in Hanover Township at 12:35 p.m. Thursday and went off the south side of the road into a guardrail. The vehicle is owned by Yellow Cab Leasing of Canton.
– Heather M. Landerfield, 37, state Route 45, Lisbon, and Raymond T. Hudak, 27, Cortland, were southeastbound on U.S. 30 in St. Clair Township at 7:20 a.m. Friday and an unsecured item fell from the trailer of Hudak’s vehicle and struck Landerfield’s vehicle. Hudak was cited for securing loads.
– Clayton Anderson, 73, Trinity Church Road, Lisbon, was cited for failure to control after wrecking on Lisbon-Dungannon Road in Center Township at 12:30 p.m. Friday. He was taken to SRMC with non-life-threatening injuries.
– Brad S. Davis, 40, Steubenville-Pike, Leetonia, was northbound on Steubenville-Pike in Center Township at 9:55 a.m. Saturday and went off the right side into a snow bank and overturned. No citations were issued.
– Polly A. Arter, 41, Carmel Achor Road, Rogers, hit a deer on state Route 7 in Middleton Township at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
– Theresa A. Paulin, 53, West 14th Street, Salem, hit a deer on Depot Road in Butler Township at 9:35 p.m. Saturday.
– Steven P. Held, 24, Teegarden Road, Salem, was southbound on state Route 164 in Fairfield Township at 2:51 a.m. Sunday and swerved to miss a deer and went off the right side up an embankment and rolled over. He was cited for failure to control.
Lisbon
– A clerk at the Days Inn reported there was a man slumped over the steering wheel of his vehicle in the parking lot at 3:29 p.m. Friday. Police spoke with the man, who said he was just tired and had pulled over to take a nap.
– Police were called to Smith Oil at 7 p.m. Thursday, where a Hanoverton man reported he had just been released from the county jail but had no place to stay or a phone to call anyone. The officer called the man’s daughter for him, and arrangements were made to pick him up.
– Tiffiani Guappone, state Route 154, called at 5:13 p.m. Saturday to report she and Taylor Willard were arguing over Willard wanting her to move out of the house. Guappone said they were both on the lease and had been living there for just over two weeks. Guappone denied that anything physical occurred between them, although Willard threw her phone at the wall. Willard collected some of her clothes and left.
– Police were called to a domestic dispute on South Lincoln at 8:32 p.m. Sunday in regard to a 13-year-old boy who was refusing to mind his mother and had sprayed soap on the kitchen floor. The woman reported her 10-year-old son had also been swearing at her. The police officer told the boys to be more obedient and to quit swearing.
– Police were called to a home on West Lincoln Way at 1:52 a.m. Feb. 1 to stand by while an ambulance was called to transport a man to an area hospital.
– Angie McElroy, South Lincoln Avenue, reported Saturday her boyfriend against whom she has a protection order had contacted her friends saying he was going to call police for having his property. She just wanted a report on file in case he showed up.
– Police were called to the Twin Oaks trailer park at 10:13 p.m. Saturday about a man who was thinking about hurting himself.
– Police were called to a home on West Chestnut Street at 10:54 p.m. Saturday in regard to a woman believed to be having a heart attack. Police stood by until an ambulance arrived to transport the woman to a local hospital.
– A clerk at the Days Inn reported at 4:37 a.m. Sunday her ex-girlfriend who lives in Cincinnati was harassing her by calling the business line. Police called the ex-girlfriend to tell her to quit calling.
– Kristopher T. Elsass, 55, North Jefferson Street, was cited for making an improper turn after he struck a vehicle driven by Scott A. Trevelen, 32, East Lincoln Way, at the intersection of North Jefferson and East Chestnut at 7:15 p.m. Sunday.
East Palestine
– A North Liberty Street woman reported at 12:19 a.m. Monday someone was stalking her at a Lisbon home.
– Police went to 91 Leake St. at 7 p.m. Sunday for a report of a disturbance between a live-in boyfriend and girlfriend. Both refused to file charges and the man left for the night.
Columbiana
– Saundra Bonfert, Salem, was preparing to turn southbound onto state Route 7 from state Route 14 at 7:54 a.m. Sunday and waiting for traffic to clear when Tyler Souder, Columbiana, struck her from behind. Souder was cited for assured clear distance.
Goshen Police District
– Antonio L. Pinkney, 29, Cleveland, was charged with OVI (.172 BAC), driving under suspension, lanes of travel and open container after a traffic stop on U.S. 62 at Country Club Lane at 1:30 a.m. Sunday. A passenger was taken by Damascus EMS to SRMC with possible alcohol poisoning.
East Liverpool
– After three separate calls within less than a week about a 2-year-old child wandering alone, his grandmother has been charged with child endangering. Sharon D. Price, 55, Sophia Street, was charged Wednesday after police were dispatched at 12:52 a.m. to Sophia Street where they found the little boy walking in the middle of the street, crying. As the officer approached him, the child ran to the cruiser and was placed inside where the officer attempted to find out where he lived. The officer then saw a woman walking barefoot down the middle of the street and learned it was his grandmother. On Jan. 30, officers were called to Giant Eagle at 9:19 a.m. for a small child wandering in the parking lot. About a half-hour after they brought the boy to the police station, his mother arrived. At 9:13 p.m. Feb. 2, officers were again called by Giant Eagle employees about a 5-year-old girl wearing only a shirt, underpants and boots with a blanket wrapped around her in the store and a younger child in a diaper on Sophia Street. The 5-year-old told officers she was trying to get her little brother and that their mother was in Wellsville and their grandmother was watching them but was asleep. Price was found asleep in her bedroom on that occasion and Children’s Services was notified. Price appeared Monday in Municipal Court on the endangering children charge, where a pretrial was set Feb. 26.
Salem
– No citation was issued, with stories conflicting about who pulled out first during a two-vehicle accident at 11:05 a.m. Monday at the intersection of Woodland and East State. Elaine Lower, 68, of Leetonia, was leaving the AT&T lot when her vehicle was struck by a vehicle driven by Sharon Easton, 63, South Lincoln Avenue, who was at the stop sign on Woodland and turned left onto State.
– Management of Ventra, 800 Pennsylvania Ave., at 10:53 a.m. Monday reported an altercation between two drivers from a trucking company. Neither of them were wanted back on the property.
– Amanda Houchins, 32, of Lexington Avenue, was cited for a traffic control device violation and driving under suspension after a two-vehicle accident at 10:50 a.m. Monday at Union and Third. She reportedly ran the red light, hitting a vehicle driven by Gary Knizat, 69, of Whinnery Road. Houchins, her 2-year-old child and another passenger, Matthew Carlisle, 34, of Cleveland Street, were all taken to SRMC as was Vicki Knizat, 67.
– An officer on South Broadway at 5:41 p.m. Sunday saw a plume of black smoke to the south. He found people properly disposing of old flags at the Amvets.
– Tyler Heverly, of Lisbon, reported at 11:31 a.m. Sunday someone struck his vehicle while it was parked on the side of an apartment building in the 200 block of East Third for an hour.
– A man reported that on Thursday around 10 a.m., a man came to his home asking for money to shovel his driveway. He gave the man $20, but then the man said he wanted to go home to get his snowblower but never returned.
Perry Township
– A juvenile in 700 block of Cunningham Road was charged with domestic violence after threatening a parent with bodily harm while armed with a large tool at 4:07 p.m. Sunday.
– Timothy Stanley, Hearthside Drive, struck a deer at 8:16 p.m. Saturday while driving on the bypass.
– Fred Drotleff, state Route 9, reported at 11:51 a.m. Saturday someone struck his vehicle while it was parked at Adele’s.

County Sheriff
– A disabled state Route 45 man was taken to an area hospital around 4:40 a.m. Saturday after deputies believed he was confusing his wife’s attempt of taking care of him as mistreatment. The elderly woman told deputies she was attempting to move her wheelchair-bound around the house but was having a difficult time and he was becoming angry with her, making her attempts more difficult.
– Rosemary Lecher, state Route 164, Lisbon, reported at 9:40 a.m. Sunday she was having problems with her neighbor’s shooting range and that while outside on her property she heard a bullet fly by her head. A deputy spoke to Thomas Turlecki at the shooting range, and Turlecki showed the deputy around the range, and there appeared to be no unsafe shooting going on and that every shot was also being accounted for on paper. People at the range were also spotting each shot while using 308 military rifles. Turlecki then told the deputy he was considering changing the position of the rifle range to alleviate the problem with his neighbor.
– Amanda Jett, Canal Street, East Rochester, reported at 11:17 a.m. Sunday she was being verbally harassed by her tenants after she asked one of their friends if he needed something from her because he was looking “awkwardly” at her.
– Taylor J. Mcdonald, 32, Sturgis, Ky., was taken by medical helicopter to St. Elizabeth Hospital at 2:47 p.m. Saturday after falling from an Allstate tower while working on Freeman Road in Center Township.
– Police responded to a noise complaint at 4:21 a.m. Sunday for 10220 Main St., Hanoverton, but did not hear any loud noise.
Lisbon
– Paul Meyers, 39, was arrested for domestic violence and taken to the county jail after police were called to 128 Vine St., at 9:27 p.m. Wednesday.
– Brock Huston, Maple Street, reported at 2:37 p.m. Thursday someone was driving an ATV on his sidewalk, driveway and around his property and he believed it was a man who lives on McKinley Street. Police spoke to the man, who said he would be more cautious plowing snow with his ATV. Huston also reported he was having trouble with a neighbor who was allowing their dog to defecate in his yard. Police spoke to the woman who said she would keep her dog chained up in her yard and clean up the mess.
Columbiana
– Police assisted Beaver Township police with a traffic stop on Redpath Road at 12:26 a.m. Saturday.
– Katie Stack reported at 3:51 a.m. Saturday she saw a man she believed was the Circle K clerk go to the ground while two other men were in the store. Police found the man had slipped and fallen and that there were no other problems. He did not need medical attention.
– Police went to 22 W. Park Ave. at 11:43 a.m. Saturday after receiving a 911 open line phone call and hearing yelling. It was found that an 18-year-old man was having a dispute with his juvenile girlfriend.
– A woman reported at 4:28 p.m. Saturday there was a snowmobile on private property at Terre Verde. Police checked and did not see a snowmobile driving there but did see tracks in vacant lots at some houses, although there were shoveled paths for the snowmobile to use.
– Beaver Township police reported at 4:34 p.m. Saturday someone in a maroon Jeep headed southbound on state Route 164 toward state Route 14 was shining a green laser light at a driver. Police checked the area but did not find the vehicle.
– Dynthia Hazlett reported at 6 p.m. Saturday she was behind a reckless driver in a dark gray/blue older Mercury Mountaineer while eastbound on state Route 14. Police stopped the vehicle and the driver explained his driving.
– Richard Curl, Newton Falls, reported at 6:42 p.m. Saturday he was almost hit by a silver Ford Taurus at the Duke and Duchess parking lot.
East Palestine
– Lacey Lynn Corbin, 20, Spaite Drive, was charged with driving under suspension and no seat belt following a traffic stop on West Martin Street at 9 p.m. Saturday.
Salem
– Police responded to Club Fuel on Railroad Street at 2:13 a.m. Sunday for a report of a person making threats with a gun. An anonymous caller said the person left in a vehicle prior to police arriving.
– Heather Ferguson, 30, of 1074 E. 10th St., was charged with theft and William Alesi III, 30, last known addres 1138 Liberty St., was charged with complicity to theft and criminal damaging after police were called to Walmart at 12:05 a.m. Sunday for a shoplifting incident.
– An anonymous caller at 8:56 p.m. Saturday reported a counterfeit bill passed as real currency at a business in the 200 block of West State.
– An officer on patrol at 7:17 p.m. Saturday stopped a vehicle on East Third Street near Rose for several moving violations. The driver was given a warning for the violations, but during a consent search of the vehicle officers recovered contraband. The driver and passengers were released. The contraband will be sent for testing.
– A woman from Maryland came to the station at 6:44 p.m. Saturday to speak with an officer about finding an unknown substance on the food they purchased at a local restaurant in the city. She brought the food with her. Officers contacted after hours personnel from both the county health department and the city health department.
– Julio Pu Brito, 29, of South Lincoln, was cited for driving without a license and starting/backing unsafely after he backed into a vehicle driven by Brandi Wood-Jack-son, 30, Coraopolis, Pa., who was pulling into a parking space at McDonald’s at 4:10 p.m. Saturday.
– Judy Woods, Franklin Avenue, reported Saturday someone struck her vehicle while parked at Giant Eagle.
– Officers were called at 12:19 p.m. Saturday to South Lincoln Avenue for a missing adult. The man was found about that time at Giant Eagle.
– Police responded to Rite Aid, 2229 E. State St., for a man trying to pick up a prescription for another person at 12:09 p.m. Saturday. He allegedly became upset when the store personnel wouldn’t give him the prescription due to it possibly being counterfeit. He left before police arrived.
– Police responded to Jennings and State for a report at 11:30 a.m. Saturday of bowling balls in the middle of the road. Officers placed them on the curb lawn for the street department to pick up.
Jefferson County
– Sheriff deputies arrested Pamela Spring, 44, 171 township Road 267, Amsterdam, on charges of domestic violence, obstructing justice and assault on officer Friday. Also arrested was Robert Spring, 60, same address, on a charge of domestic violence.
– On Thursday several firearms, a birth certificate, $800 in cash, two vehicle titles and zinc pennies were stolen from a residence in 1300 block of Springfield township Road 275, Amsterdam.
Lisbon
– Firefighters were called to Lisbon-Dungannon Road at 12:35 p.m. Friday for a report of a roll-over near Trinity Church Road. The highway patrol and EMS were notified.
POLICE
Highway Patrol
– Said S. Ismail, 46, Youngstown, was traveling south on U.S. Route 30 in Madison Township at 6:28 a.m. Wednesday when he drove off the right side of the road, struck a ditch, overturned and struck a tree. He was cited for failure to control.
– Tiffany N. Bixler, 24, Benton Road, Salem, was traveling west on Pennsylvania Avenue in Salem at 11:14 p.m. Wednesday when she failed to negotiate a curve to the right and went left of center, hitting David J. Beeson, 26, a Salem police officer who was driving a city-owned cruiser. Both Bixler and Beeson suffered minor injuries. She was treated at the scene, while he was taken to Salem Regional Medical Center. Bixler was cited for failure to control.
Columbiana
– A Quincy Avenue woman reported at 12:02 a.m. Friday she had someone knocking on her door, and then knocking on her bedroom door. She found no one in the apartment. She later reported at 2:57 a.m. that someone was in the apartment and wiggling her doorknobs. She was taken to her sister’s residence on Meadow Lane.
– Heather Gamble, James Street, reported at 12:13 p.m. Friday that while waiting at a red light on North Main Street, someone backed into her vehicle. The other car was backing from the gas station, pulled forward and left the scene after the car was waved by someone else at the station, who didn’t believe there was any contact made. No visible damage was observed on Gamble’s car.
– The electric department reported at 11:44 a.m. Friday that an East Metz Road resident put foil over his electric meter, causing signal problem for the meter reader. The resident’s wife was advised to let him know not to do this again or he will be charged.
– A male employee at Advanced Auto Parts reported at 7:21 p.m. Friday he has received unwanted calls from a customer from Youngstown.
Salem Township
– Patricia L. Soos, 56, Lisbon-Canfield Road, Leetonia, reported at 6:59 p.m. Friday someone has been following her wherever she goes. She reported that on two occasions, she was hit by a laser which caused burns to her neck and back, and gave a description of the vehicle she has seen drive by on a regular basis.
Salem
– A patrolling officer observed an unoccupied disabled vehicle at Cunningham and Butcher roads at 4:51 p.m. Thursday. The driver returned while the officer was on scene and said that she ran out of gas and had left to get some.
– An officer responded to a private property crash in the 2300 block of East State Street at 5:34 p.m. Thursday in which a vehicle slid into another one while the driver was attempting to park.
– An officer responded to a three-vehicle crash on East State Street at Lincoln Avenue at 5:52 p.m. Thursday in which one vehicle slid into another, pushing it into the third one, while attempting to stop westbound at the light. No injuries were reported and no citations issued.
– A West 10th Street resident reported on station at 6:20 p.m. Thursday that a snow plow struck his vehicle while it was parked in the street overnight, but that he did not see it happen. He was told that he could not assume it was a snow plow if he did not see it happen and he declined to file a report if the city would not pay for the damage.
– A resident reported on station at 6:54 p.m. Thursday a case of fraud involving an elderly family member.
– Officers responded to a domestic dispute in the 500 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 8:12 p.m. Thursday and found it to be a verbal dispute. Those involved were told to calm down if they were both staying at the residence for the night.
– Police responded to a domestic dispute in the 1200 Cedar Ridge Drive at 8:29 p.m. Thursday and found a man with a bloody nose. He claimed that the woman there had punched him in the nose, but she said she accidentally hit him while pushing him away when he came at her. The man declined medical treatment and left the home for the night.
– Shani A. Jones, Salem, was cited for assured clear distance ahead and leaving the scene of a crash following a two-vehicle crash that occurred at Cunningham and Butcher Roads at 9:16 p.m. Thursday in which she was southbound on Cunningham and failed to stop for traffic, striking the rear of a vehicle driven by Brittany M. Burbick, Lisbon, and then fleeing the area. Officers found her at her home after Burbick provided a vehicle description and license plate number.
– Officers responded to the area of South Lincoln Avenue and Aetna Street at 10:22 p.m. Thursday in reference to a person walking in the roadway. Officers spoke with the man in question who said he was walking along the curb due to the snow on the sidewalk. He was warned to pay attention to traffic.
– Bruce Behner III, 34, of 14337 South Range Road, was cited for operating a vehicle under the influence, driving under suspension and marked lanes after a traffic stop at 2:49 a.m. Saturday in the area of Benton Road/West State Street.
– Police responded at 1:48 a.m. Saturday to an alarm drop in the 1800 block of North Ellsworth Avenue, finding all windows and doors in the building secure.
– A caller at 12:06 a.m. Saturday reported a vehicle with the back door left open in the 200 block of West State Street. Officers checked the vehicle and everything appeared okay. The vehicle was secured.
– A dispute was reported at 10:57 p.m. Friday in the 800 block of South Lundy Avenue. Police found no physical violence occurred and one of the parties left for the night to let the situation de-escalate.
– Angel Lake, 31, of 516 1/2 Bank St., was cited for driving under suspension after a traffic stop at 10:22 p.m. Friday on East Third Street. The owner requested the vehicle be locked and the keys taken from the person driving so they could no longer operate it.
– Officers on patrol saw a vehicle in the 200 block of Hawley turn without signaling. The driver was pulled over and given a verbal warning for no signal. Officers were given consent to search the vehicle, but when they started, consent was revoked.
– Jamie Risbeck, 38, of Washington Avenue, was cited for expired registration after a traffic stop at 7:12 p.m. Friday on East State Street. The officers were given consent to search the vehicle, but nothing illegal was found.
– Tiona L. Jones, 32, of Galloway, was charged with wrongful entrustment at 5:21 p.m. Friday for an incident which occurred Tuesday involving her vehicle. The driver had been charged for driving under suspension.
– An officer on patrol at 5:08 p.m. Friday stopped a vehicle for several moving violations on East State and Washington. The driver was given a warning, but during a search of the vehicle, contraband was found. The driver and passenger were released, but the contraband will be sent for testing.
– Police responded to the area of East State Street and South Madison at 4:47 p.m. Friday for a report of a reckless driver. The vehicle was found on Fair Avenue and police made contact with the driver who they learned had a nose bleed.
– No citations were issued and no injuries were reported after a two-vehicle accident in the Giant Eagle parking lot at 4:24 p.m. Friday when a vehicle struck another vehicle backing out. Both vehicles were driven from the scene.
– A man at 3:24 p.m. Friday called about receiving unwanted calls/texts from a family member in the city. He was told he would have to file a report with his local police department.
– Joy Mraz, 55, of East Sixth Street, was cited for driving under suspension after her vehicle traveled through the Quaker Village parking lot, attempted to stop and slid into a vehicle driven by Joanie Coffman, 27, of East Second Street, who was stopped on East Pershing Street for traffic at 3:12 p.m. Friday. Minor damage was reported to the vehicles.
– Home Depot representatives reported at 2:59 p.m. Friday that three people walked out of the store without paying for four rolls of assorted wire. A license plate number was written down and video was being reviewed.
– A woman in the 600 block of North Howard Avenue reported at 1:43 p.m. Friday that someone has been taking mail from her mailbox at her apartment building. She already notified the post office.
– Police responded to the 1200 block of Cedar Ridge Drive at 12:11 p.m. Friday after receiving a call from the Sheriff’s Office for a 911 call from a male. Officers knocked numerous times on the door and no one answered. Nobody could be heard inside and police didn’t see anyone who needed help. Nothing was found behind the residence, either.
– An audible alarm was reported at 10:36 a.m. Friday in the 800 block of Arch Street. The homeowner said everything was fine.
– Police were called about a white vehicle heading into Salem from Leetonia at a high rate of speed at 9:06 a.m. Friday. The driver was reported to be a male with long hair driving recklessly. Police located a white Chevy Cavalier traveling west on Franklin near South Lincoln Avenue and initiated a traffic stop. The male driver was identified and said he was coming from Leetonia and left work because of a phone call he received making threats. He was trying to get home to his girlfriend in Perry Township. Officers said they would let Leetonia Police know and also contacted Perry Township Police at his request to send officers to his residence. He was told to slow down.
– Michael Middleton, 35, of Lexington Avenue, was cited for failure to control after losing control of his westbound vehicle on East Sixth Street at 9:05 a.m. Friday and striking an eastbound vehicle driven by Jody Kozma, 34, of Oak Street.
– A woman on Sharp Street reported at 8:09 a.m. Friday that she made a post on social media about an incident and received a threatening message from a female via social media about the incident. She wanted it documented.
Perry Township
– Police responded to a two-vehicle private property crash at 1000 W. State St. at 1:27 p.m. Thursday in which Daniel Baker, 34, Salem, was attempting to back a vehicle out of a parking space and collided with a vehicle driven by David Ward, 52, Irondale, who was attempting to pull into a parking space, causing minor damage to the vehicles.
– An officer responded to a disabled vehicle in the roadway on U.S. Route 62 at Ohio Boulevard at 5:04 p.m. Thursday. The officer and good Samaritans attempted to push the vehicle from the roadway but were unable to move it. Someone had a tow strap and pulled the vehicle onto a side street to await a two truck.
– Police were advised of a rolling domestic coming from the Damascus area toward Salem followed by another vehicle at 5:22 p.m. Thursday. An officer located the complainant who said that the vehicle had pulled into the C&C Trailer Court and provided a description of it. The officer found the vehicle and spoke with the man and woman who had been in it, both of whom said there were no problems.
– Police responded to a report of a juvenile claiming to want to harm himself and being unruly at 8:32 p.m. Thursday. An officer spoke with the juvenile, and a custodial parent not present wished for the juvenile to be evaluated. The juvenile was transported by ambulance to the Salem hospital.

County Sheriff
– Alex Zaplata, Roller Coaster Road, Lisbon, reported at 9:06 p.m. Thursday a woman, Alisa Gostey, was at her home and refuses to leave. Zaplata told deputies Gostey is her father’s ex-girlfriend and is not welcome there. Gostey told deputies she sleeps there at night and then goes home during the day. Gostey said she is in the process of getting a dissolution from her husband, but Zaplata said that has been ongoing for about two years. Because the father was not home, deputies told Gostey to leave for the night.
– Kevin Berry, Speidel Road, Hanoverton, reported at 4:40 p.m. Thursday a 16-year-old son was being unruly. The boy had run to a neighbor’s home after allegedly threatening to shoot a student at United High School and was suspended. The father picked him up from school and they got into an argument regarding the use of common sense, leading to the father hitting the shoes out of the boy’s hands to keep him from running far.
– Steve Goodman, Continental Drive, Salem, reported at 7 p.m. Thursday he went to his wife’s home to check on her on Monday and she asked him to leave. When he was walking toward the door she reportedly attacked him, punching him in the face several times. Goodman reportedly gave several different stories about what happened to Constable Dan Valentine. The wife, Crystal Bates, said she had some type of video footage suggesting Goodman hit himself.
– Timothy Waslik, Bell Road, Lisbon, reported at 7:16 p.m. Thursday he let a constituent of his, Tony Wilson, rent his excavator for a price per week. Wilson reportedly then did not want to pay that amount and told Waslik he would send the excavator back, but Waslik had not received it yet. Deputies called Wilson, who said due to the size of the machine he needed a moving permit to transport it via tractor trailer and it is scheduled to be returned at 10 a.m. Friday.
Lisbon
– The following motorists were cited for running a flashing red light at the intersection of North Market Street and North Park Avenue: Erik R. Gonzales, 22, of Eau Claire, Mich., at 1:26 a.m. Friday; Sheldon J. Purdy, 46, of Steubenville, at 12:12 a.m. Friday; and Crystal Angle-Wise, 48, Montgomery Street, East Liverpool, at 12:01 a.m. Friday.
Columbiana
– On Thursday police issued a 10-day junk vehicle notice to Gary Dickens, 15 Herbster St., Matthew Hazel, Boardman, for the property at 222 1/2 Union Street, and Arthur Sichau, Hinckley, for the property at 139 N. Main St.
– Nikki L. Richards, 34, Kirk Road, was westbound on East Salem Street at 8:32 a.m. Thursday and attempted to make a right-hand-turn on red at the North Main Street traffic light and failed to yield the right-of-way to Bobby G. Whitlow, 54, Enterprise, Texas, who was northbound on North Main Street. Richards was cited for signal lights.
– Kathleen E. Krawchyk, 29, Union Street, was westbound on Union Street at 8:53 a.m. Thursday and struck the right side of a trailer attached to a semi that was northbound on South West Street and driven by Charles L. Austin Jr., 50, Pittsburgh, Pa. No citations were issued due to conflicting statements.
– Police transported Robert Crespo from the Mahoning County Jail to the Columbiana County Jail at 8:11 a.m. Thursday on a warrant for a drug charge.
– A man reported at 1:30 p.m. Thursday a woman was committing a sex act in a black Cobalt in the laundromat parking lot on South Main Street. Police checked but the vehicle was gone.
– Connie Offenburg, 21, James Street, was attempting to drive between two vehicles at the Duke and Duchess gas station at 6:36 p.m. Thursday and struck the driver side door of a vehicle being driven by Daniel Valentine, 47, North Glenview Lane, Leetonia, that was parked at gas pump No. 8. No citations were issued due to being on private property.
– Brenda Carder, address not listed, reported at 11:14 p.m. Thursday she was receiving threatening text messages from a man she had been talking to online. Police attempted to contact the number the messages were coming from but were not successful.
Salem
– Police responded to a breaking and entering report in the 1600 block of Cleveland Street at 10:21 a.m. Thursday and found that someone had taken copper pipe from inside the building. There were no signs of forced entry and nothing else appeared to be missing.
– An officer responded to a disabled vehicle at East State Street and South Madison Avenue at 12:29 p.m. Thursday and found a semi in the center turn lane on East State Street. The driver was exiting a nearby restaurant and said that he had stopped to get some lunch.
– Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at North Lincoln Avenue and East 10th Street at 2:56 p.m. Thursday in which Timothy S. Costa, 55, Salem was westbound on 10th and attempted to stop, but slid into a southbound vehicle driven by Zachary A. Zeh, 28, Berlin Center, who was attempting a left turn. No injuries were reported and no citations issued.
– Police responded to a verbal dispute in the 100 block of South Broadway Avenue at 4:17 p.m. Thursday and found both people separated and headed their own way.
– A Southeast Boulevard resident reported on station at 4:18 p.m. Thursday that her ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend were sending her unwanted text messages and posting things on Facebook.

County Sheriff
– Jessica Fuller, Sprucevale Road, Rogers, reported at 3:03 a.m. Thursday she and David Gilbert were at the Mexican restaurant in East Palestine when Gilbert became angry and was asked to leave. He was angry the entire trip home and when they arrived she took the keys to keep him from driving. She went into the trailer and he began yelling and pounding on the door. Eventually, he walked to Cowan’s store and attempted to call family. No one would answer, so he walked back. Fuller still would not let him inside, so he kicked the bottom of the door to get inside. She called the sheriff’s office as he was kicking the door. She said she was not afraid of him, but was angry about the damage to the door. He wanted the keys to his vehicle and she told deputies she threw them somewhere in the snow. Deputies gave him a ride to his brother’s house.
– Tricia Barnes, Creek Road, New Waterford, reported at 6:36 p.m. Tuesday she received a notice in the mail from the state advising she needs to claim her large refund on this year’s tax return. Barnes learned someone fraudulently used her personal information to file a tax return.
– Terry Gott, Georgetown Damascus Road, Beloit, reported at 7:13 p.m. Tuesday Jacob Shewell was there drunk and she wanted him removed. Deputies found him on the porch in his bare feet. Gott had reportedly let Shewell stay there a couple days after he got out of rehab and she gave him a ride to Alliance earlier that morning. She said when she picked him up it appeared he had been drinking and doing drugs all day. He claimed she held up a butcher knife and cut his head off, but there was no evidence of this. Deputies gave Shewell a ride to Discount Tire in Alliance. He must have walked from there to his mother’s home because Kristi Beach, his mother, called deputies later to state she did not want him at her home and Gott took all his money. Gott denied taking the money.
– Kerry Pitts, state Route 154, Negley, reported at 1:14 p.m. Tuesday he is being harassed by friend’s of his daughter’s boyfriend, Jason Crawford. Crawford had him charged with aggravated menacing and he has a no contact order keeping him from being around Crawford. Pitts believes Crawford’s friends are driving back and forth in front of his house. Deputies explained unless they are yelling and making obscene gestures, it is not illegal to drive on the road.
– Dathan Arter, Sidehill Road, East Liverpool, reported at 1:22 p.m. Tuesday someone unknown person damaged the left rear bumper of his Pontiac Grand Am while it was parked at Beaver Local. He believed someone may have slid on the ice and struck his car.
Highway Patrol
– Lori E. Sweigard, 46, Deselem Road, Lisbon, and Harry Reisenger, 78, Grant Street, Lisbon, were northbound on state Route 45 in Center Township at 11:25 a.m. Tuesday and stopped in traffic when Reisenger moved forward and struck Sweigard from behind. Reisenger was cited for improper starting and backing.
– Justine C. Verostko, 55, Youngstown, was southwestbound on Vale Road in Middleton Township at 1:30 p.m. Sunday and was struck by Kenneth W. Smith, 54, Carmel Achor Road, Rogers, who was northeastbound and went left of center. Smith was cited for left of center.
– Paula S. McDonald, 50, Laughlin Road, Lisbon, and Chad D. Williams, 34, state Route 45, Lisbon, were northbound on state Route 45 in Salem Township at 10:20 p.m. Tuesday when McDonald struck Williams in the rear causing Williams to go off the right side of road. No citations were issued due to lack of evidence. McDonald was taken to the Salem hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
– Logan Joseph Taylor, 18, West 7th Street, Salem, was southbound on state Route 45 in Salem Township at 9:16 p.m. Wednesday and went off the left side into a ditch. He was cited for failure to control.
Columbiana
– A man reported at 12:22 a.m. Wednesday he could hear an alarm and see a flashing light near Windrose Apartments. Shortly after, another man reported that a woman fell and needed an ambulance, and that was why the alarm was activated. EMS were called.
– A woman reported at 11 p.m. Wednesday a silver SUV was parked on North Middle Street and had been there for some time and none of her neighbors knew who it belonged to or why it was there. Police checked but could not find the owner.
Lisbon
– Maria Brown called Wednesday to report her father-in-law’s trailer was struck while parked in front of her home on East Chestnut Street. Her father-in-law is Robert Brown, state Route 154, and the driver of the other vehicle was Destiny M. Stoffel, Rose Drive Apartments, who was backing out of a driveway.
– The rear door of a JMW Trucking truck came open and struck a Subway sign outside the restaurant at 1:57 p.m. Monday.
– Some juveniles were driving erratically on Garfield Street at 7:29 p.m. Wednesday and ended up going through the caller’s yard. The caller did not want anything done other than for police to speak with the juveniles, which the officer did, and the juveniles said they would apologize.
– Paul E. Meyers, 39, North Vine Street, was arrested for domestic violence at 9:27 p.m. Wednesday for allegedly pushing Angie McElroy in the chest. Meyers and the 34-year-old McElroy live together and have a child together.
Salem
– Police responded at 8:26 a.m. Thursday to a business on Pennsylvania Avenue after receiving a complaint about a truck with an unsecure load. Police located a flat bed truck with material on the back and spoke to the driver who said he didn’t realize he had lost any part of his load. He checked and said some material was gone. A caller reported two piece on the ski slope on state Route 45. The caller had followed the truck to the city. The driver said he would drop off his load and go pick up the material.
– Police responded to the library at 7:37 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a patron causing a problem and staff wanting him removed. The man said he was threatened by unknown people. He was escorted off the property and told that he’s barred from the library for six months.
– Police are investigating an alleged assault in the Walmart parking lot reported at 5:40 p.m. Wednesday. A motorist nearly struck a 16-year-old boy, leading to a verbal altercation. The driver reportedly grabbed the boy by the neck. A nearby witness yelled at the man to let go of the boy. The male driver then shoved the juvenile backward, got back into his vehicle and left. Witnesses got his license plate number and officers were checking the surveillance video.
– A caller at 4:13 p.m. Wednesday reported juveniles shooting air soft guns in the 600 block of East Sixth. An officer arrived and the juveniles were shooting at targets in the back yard. They were told they’re not allowed to use air soft guns within the city and said they would put them away.
Goshen Police District
– Edward R. Mills, 32, 175 W. Ohio Ave., Sebring, was arrested on misdemeanor counts of criminal trespassing and theft at his home at 11:46 a.m. Tuesday following an incident at the Dollar General in Beloit Jan. 19 in which he returned items despite not being allowed at the business and was caught on video stealing a lighter.
– Eugene J. Lewis III, 24, Boardman, was charged with misdemeanor theft after turning himself in at 5:43 Wednesday in reference to the theft of two chainsaws and an angle grinder from his girlfriend’s parents home on Roller Road reported Jan. 19. Lewis admitted to stealing the items and then pawning them in Austintown.
– Seenivasu Thevan Arulraj, 30, Canton, was cited for failure to control following a one-vehicle crash in Goshen Township at 9:48 a.m. Thursday in which he was eastbound on state Route 14 approaching the railroad underpass west of Duck Creek Road when he lost control, struck a ditch and traveled up an embankment, striking several trees. The vehicle sustained damage to the passenger side and a flat tire. Arulraj was not injured.
East Liverpool
– An officer stopped a vehicle Wednesday night on Mapletree Street after reportedly seeing it leave a parking space without using a turn signal. Passenger Stephanie D. Hayes, 31, Cleveland Avenue, reportedly gave a false name, and another officer reported seeing her trying to conceal a crack pipe containing Chore Boy underneath the seat. She was charged with falsification and possession of drug paraphernalia, and several warrants were served. The crack pipe will be sent for testing, with additional charges possibly to be filed.
– While backing from his driveway, Richard A. Brant, 64, Pond Street, could not stop the vehicle due to icy conditions, causing it to strike a vehicle being driven past by Brandon C. Edison, 23, Pleasant Street. There were no injuries or charges reported.
– Lori A. Potts, 41, Idaho Avenue, was stopped at the intersection of Walnut and Sixth streets with another vehicle in front of her. The other vehicle began to back, striking Potts’ vehicle, after which the driver got out and began yelling that it was Potts’ fault. When Potts said she was calling police, the other driver left. Potts took a photo of the license plate and a search was conducted by officers, who could not locate the vehicle. A witness identified the driver and the license plate returned to James N. McCauley, 34, Cadmus Street, who was cited for leaving the scene.
Liverpool Township
– Roger Fitzsimmons, Anderson Boulevard, reported his front door window broken to unlock the door and gain entry to his home. Among items reported taken were a television, shotgun and change jars. Footprints were found around the home, and the incident is under investigation.
– The Hess Road Storage sign was damaged at the intersection of Spruce Drive and Annesley Road, possibly by a Jeep seen by neighbors that was pulled out by a silver tow truck.
– Officers were called to Kwik King, Lisbon Street, where a customer had paid for gas with a counterfeit $20 bill. The man told officers he had received the badly worn bill earlier that day from someone who said it had gone through a washing machine. He was advised by officers if he didn’t have any actual money to pay for his purchase, he would be charged with passing counterfeit money, but the man apologized for the inconvenience to the store and officer and paid with another bill. The officer kept the counterfeit bill, and the store manager did not want to pursue charges.
– Joseph E. Johnson, Duncan Avenue, reported he was southbound on Boring Lane when his vehicle’s mirror struck the mirror on a northbound vehicle, causing the glass to fall out of his mirror.
St. Clair Township
– Robert L. Adams, 39, Irish Ridge Road, reported he was at The Bar when a man known as Macho and he had a verbal argument during which the other man threatened to come to his home and shoot him. When Adams arrived home, the man was in his driveway and another argument ensued. The man left, and Adams did not want to file charges.
– A neighbor on Sharon Drive reported seeing headlights in the parking lot of Faith Community Church, and officers found the pastor of the church in his car. He was at the church doing work.
– Officers responded to a call at Moore Road home where a mother would not give her son his food stamp card. She gave him the card prior to officers clearing the call.
Wellsville
– Police on Tuesday responded to a report of a stolen vehicle, finding it at Save-A-Lot. Richard Jones told police he sold his 2001 Chevy Blazer to Anthony Travers and Travers has yet to pay him any money for the purchase. Jones stated the vehicle’s title and plates are still in his name and now James Bushman was driving the vehicle. Bushman told police the vehicle was given to him by Anthony Travers and produced a notarized paper in the form of a receipt. Jones told police the paper was notarized after he already made the deal with Anthony and was not part of the deal. Police advised all parties involved that the issue was a civil matter and returned the vehicle back to the registered owner.
– Dale Mercer reportedly slid on the icy road Tuesday and struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Kara Dellapena at the intersection of 16th and Commerce. Police did not see any visible damage to either vehicle.
– Val Maple reported Monday someone messed with his Coke machine at Jim’s Service Station. Nothing was missing.
– Dale Baker reported Monday his ex-girlfriend, Melissa Buckius, has been harassing him. Buckius said Baker was harassing her. Both were told to quit it.
– Justin R. Dawson struck a block wall behind Shoub Towers while driving down Mulberry Alley Saturday. Dawson and Amanda Marriner were having a domestic dispute in the vehicle when the accident occurred.
– Lemuel Lamp reported Saturday a caught a kid stealing a pack of crackers from Dollar General a few weeks ago. Since then, Lamp said, the boy’s grandfather, Jeff Roe, has been coming into the store and threatening him. Police advised Lemuel how to obtain a protection order and told him to contact them if Roe comes back to the store.
– Shane Carpenter was charged Jan. 30 with disorderly conduct. He was sitting in a vehicle outside a Center Street home, and the resident said Carpenter had been pounding on the door and calling her names. Police had previously told Carpenter to stay away from the home.
– Melvin Haddoz was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by Sherry Scarabino at the intersection of Fifth and Main on Jan. 29. Scarabino was cited for assured distance ahead and failure to control. It was also discovered she does not carry insurance.
– Warrants for aggravated trespassing criminal damaging, domestic violence and theft of a motor vehicle were issued Jan. 28 for Robert Byrd after he reportedly punched Christina Carlson in the back of the head, damaged her residence and then took her vehicle. Byrd, the father of her child, reportedly was upset because Carlson plans to move out of state.
– Jamal Abdoul Finley was taken into custody on a warrant from Alliance at an 18th Street home Jan. 26.
– Tiffany Franklin was charged with domestic violence Jan. 25 after an argument with her mother, Christina Pirkheim at her 18th Street home. They were arguing over Franklin’s baby. Franklin allegedly broke a vase in her bedroom before coming down stairs and flipping a coffee table which struck Pirkheim in the shin. Pirkheim attempted picked up the phone but Franklin jumped on top of her, took the phone and broke it. Franklin then left.
– Alfred Hissom, owner of Tri-State Cab in East Liverpool, reported Jan. 25 that Mark Mills was not one of his drivers. An officer said that on Jan. 20 he had charged a woman with several crimes with Mills as the victim, and Mills said he drove for Tri-State.

– Gregory Hemer, a technician with AT&T, reported at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday he responded to a phone outage reported by customers along Union Ridge Road between Carmel-Achor and Dyke roads in Middleton Township. Hemer found about 650 feet of 22-gauge cable was missing. One customer reported there was still service as late as 8 p.m. Monday.
Highway Patrol
– Tina M. Foresha, 44, Pleasant Valley Drive, Paris, was westbound on state Route 172 in Center Township at 10:51 p.m. Tuesday and hit a deer.
– Debra L. Higgins, 46, Third Street, Hanoverton, was northbound on state Route 9 in Hanover Township at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday when ice fell from a northbound vehicle and stuck her vehicle.
Columbiana
– A woman reported at 8:16 a.m. Tuesday a semi with four-ways on was holding up traffic at the state Routes 7 and 14 intersection. Police checked and found the driver had help enroute.
– A man reported at 4 p.m. Tuesday there was a bag with unknown contents in the middle of the road on state Route 14. Police checked and removed the bag from the road.
– Liberty police requested at 4:11 p.m. Tuesday a message be delivered to a Canterbury Court resident.
– Police checked on a report of a suspicious man in the Firestone Farms area knocking on someone’s door at 8:27 p.m. Tuesday. Police checked but did not find the man.
East Palestine
– Police went to the middle school on West Grant Street at 2:52 p.m. Tuesday after an employee reported a child was possibly being abused or neglected.
– A woman reported at 10:44 a.m. Saturday that while on Bacon Avenue she saw three people get out of a gold colored four-door Sedan and drag a fourth passenger out of the vehicle and beat him up and left him in the snow. Police checked the area but did not see the man.
– Police went to the high school on West Grant Street at 2:50 p.m. Tuesday for a report that Sara Nutter, 16, Cherokee Lane, Columbiana, struck a vehicle owned by Brianna L. Henceroth, Stanton Drive, Columbiana. No citations were issued due to the crash occurring on private property.
– Patricia Forunato, South Market Street, reported at 4:30 p.m. Sunday James Renner, same address, would not let her leave the home. Police stood by until Fortunato gathered some belongings to leave.
– Police went to 486 E. North Ave. at 3:14 p.m. Saturday after receiving several calls that a truck had crashed into a telephone pole there and the driver fled in a white SUV. It was determined that the driver of the vehicle was Ronald L. Lowe, 45, Enon Valley, Pa. A wrecker had the truck towed from the scene and Lowe later came to the police station where he was cited for open container and hit skip.
Salem
– An officer at 11:47 a.m. Wednesday saw a man removing cans from the recycling bins near the fire station and throwing them into a box to take. He was identified and told that was theft and he’s not allowed to remove items. He put them back and claimed a woman at city hall previously told him he could help himself.
– Part of a truck reportedly struck a pole at the southwest corner of State and Ellsworth at 11:06 a.m. Wednesday. There was no visible damage to the pole, but there was evidence of previous damage from trucks hitting it. Ohio Edison was to be contacted to check the pole.
– A representative of the military recruiting office on State Street reported at 10:28 a.m. Wednesday a man had been beating on the front door, threw a can on the floor inside the building and was spitting. The man was advised by police not to come back.
-Police stood by with the county Drug Task Force after a consent to search a residence in the 500 block of Franklin was granted at 10:02 a.m. Wednesday. No contraband was found.
– James Curtis, 72, of Continental Drive, was cited for assured clear distance after he hit a vehicle driven by Michael Poisson, 56, also of Continental Drive, at South Lincoln and Carbon at 6:13 p.m. Tuesday.
– A Walnut Street man reported at 4:17 p.m. Tuesday he came home and found several items missing.
– Bret Ahearn, 18, of Fairview Avenue, was cited for assured clear distance on North Lincoln at 2:54 p.m. Tuesday. He rear-ended a vehicle driven by Patricia Dolan, 62, of Adams Avenue, shoving it into a vehicle driven by Hannah Munn, 27, of Warren, who were stopped in traffic.
– Officers were advised by Perry Township police of a stuck vehicle near the railroad crossing on Allen Road at 3:22 a.m. Wednesday. The driver said his vehicle became stuck in the snow while traveling on private property. The vehicle was towed out.
East Liverpool
– Officers responded Wednesday morning to the North Street home of Trudy L. McKinnon, 59, who said her daughter, Bridget N. McKinnon, 28, had repeatedly punched her in the head and face. Mrs. McKinnon told officers she had refused to give her daughter money to purchase suboxine to help her with her heroin addiction and that, after the alleged assault, her daughter took $50 from her purse and left. Bridget McKinnon was charged with domestic violence.
– Officials of S.H. Bell, Michigan Street, reported an employee made a threatening remark to another employee about a manager then repeated the remark in front of others at a meeting. The company did not want to file charges and said the employee is on suspension.
– Jody Kireta, Chester Avenue, reported a television taken from her son’s bedroom, possibly by a man who had been staying at the residence since December.
– Joy Norman, 47, no address listed, reported a man wearing a hoodie punched her in the head and stole her purse while she was walking on Pennsylvania Avenue. Her son later found her purse at Sylvan and Boyce streets.
– Austin R. Young, 20, no address listed, reported his ex-girlfriend tried to assault him near Bricker’s and also has been making threatening and harassing phone calls to him.
– Raymond Peachey, Moore Street, reported he believed someone had kicked his vehicle out of alignment.
– Larry P. Madison, Saint George Street, reported four guitars, an Xbox gaming system, laptop computer and home stereo equipment stolen. Police reported a television, computer monitor and guitar rack were found outside the residence in the snow.
– Janet Toot, no address listed, reported her father was possibly the victim of fraud, having received a phone call asking for personal information about a trip he had booked. The tour company denied that any employee had called, asking for that information.
– Officers responded to Berdine’s on Sixth Street to find John P. McNulty, 58, no address listed, sitting in a pool of blood with a bloody towel held to his face. He said he was talking to a man in the bar and the man, who he identified, began punching him. The man had left prior to officers’ arrival.
– A Giant Eagle manager reported a man came in and asked for change for a $50 bill and then confused the cashier, saying he had given her a $100 bill and throwing numerous other bills on the counter. He made off with an extra $50.
– Robert Shallcross, address not reported, told police he checked a rental property he owns on Minerva Street and found the back door open. Inside, the copper pipe and wire had been cut and the kitchen faucet removed.
– Joseph A. Virden, St. Clair Avenue, reported answering a knock at his door to find two men he knew who began to assault him. They stole a switchblade knife, expandable baton and RCA tablet. He declined medical treatment despite obvious defense wounds, according to reports.

County Sheriff
– Becky Snyder, Kibler Road, East Palestine, reported at 4:55 p.m. Monday she and her live-in boyfriend were arguing about his drinking. She claims he has been drunk for three straight days, has been calling her names and she wants him to seek medical treatment. He told deputies he has been drinking a lot, but he doesn’t want to. He agreed to voluntarily seek treatment and was taken to St. Elizabeth’s in Boardman.
– Grace Roessler, McCracken Road, Salem, reported at 2:02 p.m. Sunday two vehicles collided head-on just east of Old Route 344 with no injuries. Williams Sherrill, Lisbon Street, Columbiana, was eastbound, while Roessler was westbound. Sherrill reportedly lost control, went left of center and struck Roessler. Sherrill was cited with driving under suspension and failure to control.
– Marcus Morlan, County Airport Road, East Liverpool, reported at 3:10 p.m. Monday he has a protection order against a person, who has called him twice on Monday. The matter was forwarded to the prosecutor’s office.
– Scott Hawkins, Cape Coral, Fla., reported at 2:15 p.m. Friday he spends part of the year in Florida and part of the year in the county. He left his Damon RV on Mattix Road in October. His father-in-law also left in early November for Florida. Both returned a few days ago. Hawkins found the RV unlocked and he could smell smoke with black soot covering the inside of the RV. It appeared the fire had extinguished itself and the heat had been intense enough to melt plastic fixtures on the ceiling. A fan and an electrical fixture next to the bed were charred.
Highway Patrol
– Aaron L. Bowersock, 24, Susan Drive, East Liverpool, was eastbound on state Route 154 in Middleton Township at 4 p.m. Saturday and Michael A. Gurney, 23, Commerce Street, Negley, was westbound out of a gas station on state Route 154 and was struck by Bowersock when Bowersock attempted to turn south onto state Route 7. Bowersock then went off the road into a ditch. Gurney was cited for right of way.
– Kenneth B. Beaumariage, 31, Melissa Lane, Minerva, was northbound on state Route 9 in Hanover Township at 2:20 p.m. Sunday and went off the right side into a mailbox and a ditch. He was cited for failure to control.

– Marcus A. Bowersock, 25, of Columbus, was cited for running a red light at the intersection of North Market and North Park at 12:19 p.m. Tuesday.
Salem
– A woman who co-owns a property on Jennings asked at 10:50 a.m. Tuesday about having a no trespass order served on a person.
– Bethany R. Devine, 23, of 218 Fair Ave., was taken into custody at her home at 12:41 a.m. Tuesday on a warrant for dangerous drugs.
– Officers and sheriff deputies attempted to serve several arrest warrants throughout the city. At 9:50 p.m. Monday, Robert K. Turner of 480 Franklin St., was picked up in the 200 block of Fair Avenue.
– Police responded to Walmart at 5:03 p.m. Monday for a report of 911 hangup calls. An officer spoke to three children too young to understand their actions or the consequences, then informed the parent.
– A South Lincoln woman reported at 11:27 a.m. Monday her husband, who has dementia, left. The last time she saw him was around 10 p.m. Sunday when they went to sleep. She said he went missing Sunday and was found at Bob Evans. On Monday he was found at Walmart. Officers picked him up and returned him home.
– Emma Leigh Foust, 18, of 1447 W. State St., was cited for failure to control, leaving the scene and driving under suspension after police discovered she had been driving a vehicle they suspected was involved in a traffic crash Saturday on North Ellsworth.
St. Clair Township
– A caller reported seeing a man at a Florence Street home walk onto the porch, fire two shots toward the golf course, go back inside then come back outside and fire two more shots. Officers tried to contact the home owner, James Craig, but no one answered the door. Officers reported finding 9 mm shells on the ground, where they also saw holes. According to reports, Melissa Ditri arrived on the scene and told officers she thought Craig had left. After checking the inside, she told officers he was not there.
– A theft report was taken from an employee at O’Reilly’s Auto Parts on state Route 170. No other details were reported.
– Lisa A. Brophey, no address listed, reported jewelry missing, and an officer reported finding the jewelry and a person suspected of taking it at Cashland on St. Clair Avenue. The jewelry was seized pending identification by Brophey.
– Officers responded along with North Star Critical Care, West Point Fire Department and sheriff’s deputies on Madison Drive for an apparent heroin overdose by a 33-year-old man. Officers assisted deputies in gathering information.

East Liverpool
– A 42-year-old Ohio Avenue woman was found dead in the bathtub of a Cleveland Avenue home early Sunday morning of an apparent drug overdose. According to reports, resident Ronald L. Buzzard called to report a possible overdose at 1:20 a.m., telling police the woman had come to his home at about 11 p.m. and asked to take a bath, going into the bathroom about 11:30. She sent him a text at 12:23 a.m. stating she was still in the bathtub, but at 1:19 a.m., he became concerned and went to check and found she appeared to have overdosed. Buzzard immediately called police, who said two other males in the house corroborated his statements. A 15-year-old boy in the home reported he was asleep downstairs. Officers found the woman sitting “Indian-style” in the tub with a can of beer which Buzzard said she had brought with her. A forensic investigator was called to the scene, after which the woman was transported to East Liverpool City Hospital by Lifeteam ambulance.
– Charges could be filed in connection with an incident Friday during which Brianna Post, 25, Bloomfield Road, said her boyfriend threatened, punched and choked her. Officers followed her to Oakwood Street so she could retrieve her belongings from her boyfriend’s house and he became irate and made threats, they reported. He was warned about his behavior and information was provided to the law director for possible charges.
– While westbound on Harvey Avenue, Scott M. Barton, 31, Lisbon Street, lost control of his vehicle on ice, causing it to travel over an embankment about 50 feet and land on its side. Barton was trapped inside the vehicle until police officers arrived on the scene and pulled him out. He was transported to East Liverpool City Hospital by Lifeteam ambulance.
– Karen Golba, Trentvale Street, reported her vehicle, parked in front of her home, was struck by an unknown vehicle which fled the scene.
St. Clair Township
-Officers responded to the home of Angela Possage, Coolidge Street, Thursday night after receiving a text from a friend saying police were needed at the home. They arrived to find Possage sitting on the porch and her son standing in the driveway, crying. Both said nothing was going on, but officers determined Timothy L. Jones, 46, same address, was at his mother’s nearby and had been causing her problems. He told officers there is, in fact, a protection order in place between them and he was advised to to leave and not return. His father was dressing to take Jones to his brother’s when officers left. Some time later, officers were called back to the residence to find Jones standing in the driveway, and Possage said he was causing her problems. Jones told officers his father didn’t want to take him all the way to his brother’s so he walked back to Possage’s house and asked for a few cigarettes since he had a long walk. He was arrested for criminal trespass.
Salem
– Police responded to the 100 block of Railroad Street at 1:29 a.m. Sunday for a fight in progress where a woman was injured. First responders and an ambulance were called and she was taken to the hospital. Police spoke to the people involved and all said they would provide statements that will be forwarded to the county prosecutor.
– Police were preparing to clear the fight report in the 100 block of Railroad Street at 2:25 a.m. Sunday when officers detected a strong odor of marijuana and checked the parking lot. A man and woman were in a vehicle and Edward F.L. Pittman of Salem was found to have five burnt marijuana cigarettes in his possession. Police found an outstanding warrant for failure to appear and he was charged with a minor misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
– Police responded to the 1100 block of Short Avenue at 11:49 p.m. Saturday for a report of a prowler and were unable to locate anyone.
– Police responded to the 2800 block of East State Street at 8:19 p.m. Saturday and charged Alisa A. Graff, 39130 Grant St., Lisbon, with theft after she allegedly shoplifted $85.64 in merchandise from the store.
– At 7:32 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue for a natural death and stood by until the coroner’s investigator arrived.
– Police responded to the 500 block of Washington Avenue at 8:34 a.m. Sunday and advised the owner to move the vehicle off the street because of the parking ban to due to snow. Vehicles were towed at 8:43 a.m. from a residence on South Union Avenue; at 8:56 a.m. from the 500 block of Columbia Street, the 500 block of Aetna Street; the 600 block of Fair Avenue; at 9:22 a.m. from the 100 block of East 4th Street; from Vine Avenue between East 5th and 6th streets; and at 1:36 p.m. from the 300 block of South Broadway Avenue. Officers had many vehicles towed on the north side of town.

– While westbound Friday morning on state Route 14, a vehicle driven by Lori A. Rovnak, 50, Western Reserve Road, Poland, slid across the center line and off the left side of the roadway, striking a guardrail. She was cited for failure to control.
– Noah C.J. McBride, 18, West Main Street, Washingtonville, was cited Friday for failure to control after he lost control of his vehicle while northbound on Lisbon Road, causing it to slide off the right side, striking a ditch.
– While Cody M. Cage, 23, Warren, and Charles S. Labelle, 56, Akron, were both southbound on state Route 11, Cage changed lanes to allow another vehicle to merge from an entrance ramp, causing Labelle’s tractor-trailer to strike his vehicle. No charges were reported.
– Both Jeffrey A. Taylor, 24, state Route 45, Wellsville, and Harley M. Cornell, 20, Y&O Road, Wellsville, were northbound on Y&O Road when Taylor began to turn left onto Cameron Road and his vehicle was struck by Cornell’s vehicle. Cornell was cited for assured clear distance.
– Gregory E. Heflin, 32, Warren, and George W. Cochran, 53, Bye Road, East Palestine, were both stopped northbound on state Route 170 Friday when Cochran – driving a truck owned by the Ohio Department of Transportation – backed into Heflin’s vehicle. No charges were reported.
County Sheriff
– Sandy Phillips, state Route 644, Kensington, reported Thursday someone known to her took a camera lens and Samsung tablet from her residence and pawned it.
– Deputies responded Saturday to the home of Linda Murray, Lower Elkton Road, for a domestic dispute between Murray and her daughter, Monica Murray. Mrs. Murray told deputies that, during a verbal argument, her daughter shoved the freezer, striking her in the leg. She did not want to file charges but wanted her daughter to leave. Deputies advised they could not force her daughter to leave and explained the eviction process to Mrs. Murray. Her daughter told deputies this has been an ongoing problem with her mother and her mother’s boyfriend. She was advised to go somewhere to calm down for the afternoon, and she gathered items and left after both women signed refusals to prosecute.
Salem
– Police responded to the 100 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 12:21 a.m. for a fight in progress and observed a man being physically restrained yelling at another across the bar. Patrons tried to calm him down and remove him and he pulled away from officers, lunging at the other person. Stephen T. Manypenny, 1531 Egypt Road, was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest and taken to the county jail.
– Police responded to the 100 block of Railroad Street for a report of a fight at 1:08 a.m. Saturday and were unable to locate anything.
– Police traced a vehicle that was involved in an accident at Ellsworth and Second to Vine at 12:31 a.m. Sunday. The owner denied driving and another person, after initially denying driving, admitted to it. Emma Foust, 1447 W. State St., was charged with failure to control, leaving the scene and driving under suspension and was charged with underage consumption at the home and was taken to the county jail. The vehicle’s owner, Leah Minamyer, 646 Vine Avenue, was charged with drug paraphernalia.
– Joshua R. Monday, 536 Walnut Street, D, was taken into custody at 1:47 p.m. Saturday on an warrant from the county.
