Sheriff’s Office

— A deputy took a report of a missing person at a Wooddale Drive residence in Hanover Township at 5:27 p.m. Sunday. The deputy spoke to the caller upon arrival at the address and had them fill out a missing person form, advising the person would be entered as missing by dispatch.

— A deputy was dispatched at 4:24 p.m. Sunday to Teegarden Road, Hanover Township for an ATV complaint. The deputy spoke with the person involved, who agreed to stay off of the roadway and said they were finished riding for the evening.

— A drug-related issue was reported at 1:35 p.m. Sunday on Hillside Drive, Butler Township.

— A deputy returned a call at 12:15 p.m. Sunday to a Madison Township resident on Y & O Road regarding a civil matter, advising them how to proceed.

— Trespassing was reported at 8:47 p.m. Saturday on Y & O Road, Madison Township.

— Suspicious activity was reported at 5:02 p.m. Saturday at United Local Schools, state Route 9, Hanover Township. A deputy checked the school grounds and made no contact with anyone.

— A welfare check was requested at 4:33 p.m. Saturday on Sue Drive, Center Township. A deputy made contact with the people involved and was advised all were in good health and would contact the person who called for the welfare check.

— Menacing was reported at 2:44 p.m. Friday on Cherry Street, Knox Township. A deputy spoke to the caller and then spoke to the other party and told them what would happen if they continued.

— A deputy on patrol at 11:17 p.m. Thursday came across a suspicious person on state Route 170 who ran in front of the deputy up a steep hill off of the roadway. The deputy believed the person had a warrant and was met by Ohio State Highway Patrol and East Palestine Police who searched for the person, who eventually turned himself in to the patrol and East Palestine units. He was then transferred to the custody of deputies. He was identified as John Andrews III, 39, who had an active warrant for his arrest. He was transported to the jail.

— A barking dog was reported at 10:30 p.m. Thursday on Jimtown Road, East Palestine. The dog owner put the dog inside for the night.

— A man on Parkview Drive, Center Township reported at 9:42 p.m. Thursday that unknown people on drugs were walking up and down the road causing a disturbance, saying this has been going on for the past two years. A deputy checked the area, but did not find anyone.

— A woman on Lisa Lane, Center Township, reported at 9:41 p.m. Thursday that unknown homeless people were in front of a residence yelling at each other. A deputy checked the area, but did not find anyone.

— A Terraho Drive, Butler Township resident called at 8:44 p.m. Thursday to report being in a property dispute with his roommate over a chandelier. Deputies had been dispatched to the same residence at 3:15 p.m. May 27 when the roommate was outside the residence allegedly threatening to break down the door. Dispatch advised that he called in and said he has lived there for two months and was locked out. A deputy spoke to all involved told them about the eviction process.

— A woman on Salem Unity Road, Salem Township reported at 7:48 p.m. Thursday that her children’s stepmother of North Lima won’t stop sending her text messages. A deputy spoke to the other woman via telephone and told her to stop sending the text messages.

— A man on South Mahoning Avenue, Knox Township reported at 7:30 p.m. Thursday that he sold his 2009 Mercury Milan to a resident on Fifth Street, Beloit and as of this date, the buyer had not transferred the title into his name and still has the man’s license plate on the vehicle. Dispatch confirmed the vehicle is still registered to the seller. He was told to contact the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

— A man on state Route 45, Center Township, requested a report on file per his bank at 3:41 p.m. Thursday that he received a check in the mail for $2,700 from a person he’s been in contact with, he cashed the check and the next day the bank advised the check was declined.

— Deputies and Salineville Police were dispatched at 3:42 p.m. Thursday to West Main Street, Salineville, for multiple anonymous calls that two men with multiple outstanding warrants were at the residence. Deputies and police officers spoke with the resident at the property who said the wanted men were not inside his residence or on his property. He was advised three times that the two men have warrants and if they arrive there to call Salineville Police or the Sheriff’s Office.

— A welfare check was requested on a juvenile at 4:37 p.m. May 27 on Meadow Wood Drive, Butler Township. The juvenile was fine and the report was sent to Child Protective Services.

– Andrew Brian Davis, 42, no address listed, was charged with domestic violence after deputies responded to a state Route 45 home at 1:40 a.m. May 27 where the resident reported Davis had assaulted her earlier in the day, but returned and had threatened her.

Leetonia

— Officers on patrol in the area of Madison Avenue and State Street observed two juveniles on private property at 6:44 p.m. Monday. The juveniles advised they were taking photos, and officers advised them to stay away from the railroad tracks.

— Officers spoke with two men who were train watching on Washington Street near the bike trail at 9:46 p.m. Sunday. Officers advised the men to leave the area.

— A woman was reported acting unnaturally at a business on Hazel Street at 7:59 p.m. Saturday. Officers spoke with the woman, who was confused and did not make sense during the conversation. Officers were advised by the woman’s mother that they have a brain tumor that is causing them to behave strangely.

— Officers assisted the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office with a person experiencing a mental episode that had potentially assaulted other residents in the 2500 block of Leetonia Road at 11:45 a.m. Saturday.

— Stefan White was cited for OVI, left of center, and a headlight violation after their westbound vehicle on state Route 344 was observed with a headlight out at 12:14 a.m. Saturday.

— A potential break-in of a vehicle was reported in the 400 block of Somer Street at 11:15 p.m. May 29. Officers canvassed the area and determined that two people had been involved and fled the area in a vehicle.

— Officers located an accident involving a Leetonia school bus and a motorcycle in the area of Leetonia Road and Lodge Road at 4:13 p.m. May 27. Officers notified dispatch of the situation and remained on scene until the Ohio State Highway Patrol arrived on scene to do an accident investigation.

— Officers checked on a suspicious vehicle in the first block of Main Street at 11:51 a.m. May 23. The driver advised that they had accidentally turned on the wrong road while delivering for Uber Eats, and officers escorted them off the property and had him follow them to the correct address.

Salem

— A suspicious person was reported in the 400 block of Reilly Avenue at 2:21 a.m. Tuesday. Officers spoke with the person and advised them of track hours and that they needed to leave.

— Loud people were reported at the tennis courts at Waterworth Memorial Park at 12:16 a.m. Tuesday. Officers spoke with several people playing pickleball and advised them of the park’s hours.

— Officers on patrol located two vehicles parked at Waterworth Memorial Park after hours at 11:36 p.m. Monday. The vehicles were unoccupied and nobody was located in the area.

— A juvenile reportedly threw a rock at a vehicle in the area of North Ellsworth Avenue and East Fourth Street at 4:03 p.m. Monday. Officers spoke with the juvenile and their parent and advised them of the possible consequences had the vehicle been damaged.

— Officers conducted a wellness check on a man in the 300 block of Fair Avenue at 2:39 p.m. Monday. Officers spoke with the man in question, and everything checked okay.

— Theft was reported at a business in the 600 block of East State Street at 2:13 p.m. Monday. The caller advised that two men had eaten and left without paying. Management did not want to pursue charges and wanted a report on file.

— Several prescription pills were reported stolen in the 500 block of Walnut Street at 1:25 p.m. Monday. The caller advised that several of their pills were gone and that they believed they’d been stolen. The caller just wanted a report on file.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of East Sixth Street at 12:20 p.m. Monday for a wellness check. The caller advised that a woman was injected by a needle with illegal drugs the night prior and they were worried about their well-being. Officers spoke with the woman in question who denied anything of the sort occurring and advised that they did not need any assistance.

— A reckless operator was reported in the 1800 block of East State Street at 12:18 p.m. Monday. Officers observed the person in question leaving a business and followed it. Officers observed no signs of impairment.

— A neighbor dispute was reported in the 2300 block of Tanglewood Drive at 10:07 a.m. Monday. The caller advised that the neighbor’s dog barks all day and that when they went to speak with the neighbor they were cursed at. Officers advised the caller to start recording the dog outside barking.

— An injured animal was reported in the 200 block of West Eighth Street at 9:17 a.m. Monday. A cat was found with an arrow lodged in its back. Officers transported the animal to a local vet for evaluation, and the Columbiana County Humane Officers were advised of the incident.

— Graffiti was reported at a property in the 600 block of Legacy Lane at 7:36 a.m. Monday. The caller advised they wanted a report on file as it was the second that that graffiti had been found there, and the caller was advised that an extra patrol would be provided in the area.

— A suspicious vehicle was reported in the 2400 block of East State Street at 5:10 a.m. Monday. The caller advised that a man was slumped over the wheel of a running vehicle. Contact was made with the man, who advised they were waiting for the business he was delivering item at to open.

— Suspicious activity was reported in the 500 block of East Perry Street at 1:56 a.m. Monday. Officers checked the area but did not locate anything.

— A verbal altercation was reported in the 500 block of Walnut Street at 8:12 p.m. Sunday. The caller advised that the incident had been resolved prior to officers’ arrival, and that assistance was no longer needed.

— Menacing was reported on the 1000 block of Buckeye Avenue at 7:43 p.m. Sunday. The caller advised that a person was threatening them by phone and officers advised them to stop immediately. Officers advised the caller to block the person and call them if anything else occurred.

— Menacing was reported in the 600 block of Washington Avenue at 7:17 p.m. Sunday. The caller advised that while walking home from their girlfriend’s house and man stopped them and told them to stay away from her and pulled an item believed to be a knife out of their pocket. The juvenile’s father did not want to pursue charges.

— Officers spoke with a person at the police department at 5:27 p.m. Sunday regarding harassment by an unknown person. The person advised the boyfriend of a coworker had made comments about him and requested it be documented.

— Officers spoke with a person in the 500 block of East State Street at 12:45 p.m. Sunday regarding a trespass report. The caller advised that a person was causing issues, and they wanted them trespassed from their property. Officers spoke with the person in question and advised them of the same.

— Officers spoke with a person about an issue occurring outside the city at 12:45 p.m. Sunday. The caller was advised of the proper agency to contact.

— Criminal damage to a vehicle was reported in the 2400 block of Lexington Avenue at 10:03 a.m. Sunday. The caller advised that while dropping a friend off in the area, three individuals had started an altercation and damaged his vehicle. The caller did not want to pursue charges and just wanted a report on file.

— A loud person was reported in the 500 block of East Fourth Street at 8:51 a.m. Sunday. Officers spoke with the person in question, and they advised they would go for a walk to calm down.

— Officers responded with the fire department to the 900 block of Highland Avenue at 7:07 a.m. Sunday for a report of lines in the roadway. The lines were located, and Ohio Edison was notified.

— A resident in the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue advised that they heard squeaking outside their window and believed someone was trying to get in. Officers did not observe any activity around the window nor anyone in the area.

— Multiple motorcycles were reported in a closed alley in the 100 block of South Broadway Avenue at 11:15 p.m. Saturday. Officers advised them that the alley was for pedestrian traffic only and to keep all vehicles out of the alley.

— A fight between juveniles was reported in the area of New Garden Avenue and West Wilson Street at 9 p.m. Saturday. The caller advised that another juvenile attacked him while he was walking down the street. Officers learned that the caller had been provoking the other party through messages, and that words had been exchanged by both sides when he walked past their residence. Officers advised both families to keep the juveniles separate and that the juvenile officer would be advised of the incident.
