LISBON — The preliminary hearing in the felony domestic violence case against former Liverpool Township police chief Jayson W. Jackson set for Aug. 3 has been moved to 1 p.m. Aug. 17. Chris Amato, the defense attorney retained by Jackson, requested the new hearing date due to a scheduling conflict. Jackson, 53, Campground Road, Wellsville was charged with a fourth-degree felony domestic violence charge for allegedly punching a woman several times during a domestic which started Sunday night. LISBON — Mayors from local communities were able to visit the Columbiana County Educational Service Center and speak to teachers during the ESC’s recent Teacher Bootcamp. The Bootcamp, which was held last week, was a way for local teachers to see first-hand the available careers in Columbiana County. Police chief updates St. Clair Township trustees on sale of vehicle

CALCUTTA — St. Clair Township officials Monday updated the trustees on the sale of vehicles. Police Chief Brian McKenzie told the trustees that the department had posted a notification on social media for sealed bids for an unmarked car no longer useful to the department and previously authorized for sale. McKenzie also noted that he had received a check from Alcatraz Body Modifications for approximately $900 for the sale of old firearms that were traded in or sold, and that would go to offset the cost of the new firearms the department has.
