Annual Trail of Treats returns on Oct. 18

SALEM—The community favorite Trail of Treats returns on Oct. 18. Salem families looking to get into the Halloween spirit early and enjoy an afternoon of family fun can look forward to the 11th annual Trail of Treats from 3 to 5 p.m. Oct. 18 at Waterworth Memorial Park. The annual event is sponsored by the Salem Parks Department, Salem Area Chamber of Commerce and Curing Retinal Blindness Foundation. Neeld Road closure for underpass resurfacing, drainage

Neeld Road in Unity Township will be closed between state Route 558 and Paggett Road for three weeks beginning Tuesday for road resurfacing and drainage at the Norfolk Southern Railroad underpass bridge. Neeld Road north of the bridge will be open to traffic.

Sheriff’s Office — A deputy was dispatched at 11:10 p.m. Wednesday to Knox School Road at Georgetown Road, Knox Township, for an injured deer on the side of the roadway, but didn’t find the deer. — Deputies arrived at 10:18 p.m. Wednesday at Pleasant Valley Mobile Home park, Creek Road, New Waterford, for a disturbance complaint of unknown people yelling to call 911.
