LISBON -- A Wellsville man accused of violating the terms of his probation for assault must spend 83 days in the Columbiana County jail.

Michael S. Harrington, 36, Chester Avenue, appeared recently in county Common Pleas Court for the probation violation for the misdemeanor charge. He was resentenced to 120 days in jail, but received credit for 37 days already served, leaving the 83-day balance he must serve.

On July 13, 2025 he attempted to physically harm a woman.

Also in Common Pleas Court:

-- David Kane, 41, West Ninth Street, East Liverpool, was ordered to spend 45 days in the county jail for violating the terms of his probation for fourth-degree felony attempted illegal conveyance of drugs of abuse onto the grounds of a specified governmental facility and fifth-degree felony aggravated possession of drugs. He was ordered to serve 505 days, but received credit for 460 days already served, leaving the balance of 45 days still to serve. He possessed methamphetamine and tried to take drugs into a detention facility on March 20, 2023.

LISBON -- In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a preliminary/pretrial hearing was set Oct. 14 for Zachary Shawn Rexroad, 26, Wilbert Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with fourth-degree felonies of strangulation and domestic violence and misdemeanor criminal trespass for allegedly pulling a woman from the couch where she fell on the floor, then got on top of her and began strangling her by the neck to the point she could not breathe on Oct. 7 at an apartment in East Liverpool. Affidavits said the domestic violence charge was elevated to a felony because the defendant allegedly knew the victim was pregnant. He had been trespassed from the property in July.

A preliminary hearing was set Oct. 14 for David Robert Boyd, 30, Cora Street, East Liverpool, charged with fifth-degree felony unauthorized use of motor vehicle for allegedly failing to return a U-Haul truck to Ace Hardware in St. Clair Township on Oct. 3.

A pretrial was set Dec. 16 for Skyler James Brletich-McAfee, 18, Thompson Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with domestic violence for allegedly pushing a juvenile into a lamp stand during an incident Oct. 8 in East Liverpool.

A pretrial was set Dec. 2 for Luke Andrew Morrison, 27, Cora Street, East Liverpool, charged with violation of a protection order for allegedly being at a residence in East Liverpool in violation of a protection order on Oct. 7.

A pretrial was set Oct. 19 for Charles Edward Salim, 52, South Market Street, East Palestine, charged with criminal trespass for allegedly walking on a property on Oct. 7 after receiving prior notices to stay off the East Palestine property.
