LISBON - Tom McKenna, local actor, producer, teacher, musician and artist, has donated his original scripts of children's plays to the Lepper Library.

McKenna has been a pillar of the Lisbon arts community for many years. He has donated his collection of original scripts to the Lepper Library to preserve local history and to continue the study of the arts for generations to come.

McKenna and the Tadpole Players Children's Touring Company went to schools, theaters, camps, and libraries across Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, New York and Virginia. It was a young adult company of talented professionals providing live theater for children.

Each production had colorful sets, beautiful costumes, underscored with music and filled with special effects. The plays are based on history, fairy tales, dramatization of a classic story in literature, and fantasy. They took their production to multiple places each day with a show in the morning, afternoon and evening, depending on the travel time to locations.

The scripts at the Lepper Library include: "Cinderella: A musical Adaption," "The Emperor's New Clothes," "The Emperor's Nightengale: A libretto," "Escape to Freedom," "Happy Birthday, USA!," "Hayfoot Strawfoot: A Revolutionary War adventure play," "The Indian Scout," "King Midas and the Golden Touch," "Lee-Poo's Paper Dragon," "Mark Twain's The Adventure of Tom Sawyer: A Children's Play adapted for the stage," "Miss Patsy of Monticello," "Robin Hood," "The Secret Garden," "Sherlock Holmes Solves a Mystery," "Sleeping Beauty," "A Spy for General George," "A Revolutionary War adventure play," "The Storytellers or How the Legends Grew," "To Touch, To See," "Wo Ling's Magic Kite" and "The Wonderful World of Friends."
