Sheriff's Office

-- A deputy was dispatched at 11:10 p.m. Wednesday to Knox School Road at Georgetown Road, Knox Township, for an injured deer on the side of the roadway, but didn't find the deer.

-- Deputies arrived at 10:18 p.m. Wednesday at Pleasant Valley Mobile Home park, Creek Road, New Waterford, for a disturbance complaint of unknown people yelling to call 911. Upon arrival, deputies met with a man from Bunker Hill Road, Fairfield Township, who reported he met his ex-girlfriend, who resides on Woodland Avenue, Salem, at the entrance to the mobile home park due to her having some of his property. He said she refused to give him his property and started yelling at him and then left walking on foot.

-- A man on Unity Line Road, Unity Township, called at 7:46 p.m. Sept. 25 to report and break-in at his hunting cabin on his property. Warrants for criminal trespass and breaking and entering were issued out of Columbiana County Municipal Court for a 43-year-old man New Waterford man.

Lisbon

- Jessica Rodriguez, 47, Menifee, Calif., was charged with OVI and cited for prohibited U-turn, failure to produce driver's license and traffic control device violations following a traffic stop on North Beaver and Chestnut streets at 3:43 a.m. Oct. 3.

- Billy Gold Childers, 18, Calabash, N.C., was charged with OVI, no driver's license and turn signal violation; and Jody Ross Deweese, 18, Sunset Beach, N.C., was charged with OVI and wrongful entrustment following a traffic stop at 2:36 a.m. Oct. 3 at Jerome Street and Lee Avenue. Both were tested for impairment after switching the driver seat during the stop.

- Officers assisted the Columbiana County Sheriff's Office at 2:15 p.m. Oct. 2 in which a man who was walking toward the downtown court house to speak directly to a judge. The man allegedly threatened a court deputy and was walking toward the Lisbon Police Department. When confronted by an officer, the man allegedly threatened the officer. A deputy arrived and the man allegedly moved toward him while swinging a large metal chain. The deputy tased the man, who was evaluated by medical personnel and taken into custody by the sheriff's office.

Leetonia

- Kayla Brian was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop at Walnut and York streets at 5:48 p.m. Wednesday.

- An officer responded to the first block of Wood Street at 7:58 p.m. Wednesday in reference to three individuals with flashlights outside an unoccupied home for sale. The officer checked the home, but did not find anyone. The officer advised the caller to contact the real estate agency if it occurs again.

- A juvenile was charged with assault after an officer responded to a 100 block Walnut Street home at 9:58 a.m. Wednesday where a complainant reported the juvenile had struck in the back with an exercise weight and head with a closed fist when he attempted to wake up the juvenile for school.

- Anthony Skaro, 53, Pittsburgh, was charged with disorderly conduct after an officer responded to a Main Street business at 2:06 p.m. Tuesday for a report of him trespassing and threatening violence on the business owner.

- Braxton G. Mascher, 36, Lisbon, was charged with driving under suspension and arrested on an active warrant for drug possession following a traffic stop at Columbia and Home streets at 5:51 a.m. Tuesday.

Salem

-- Officers checked on two people in the public parking lot off East Second Street at 12:45 a.m. Friday. Officers ensured they were okay and did not need any assistance.

-- A dispute was reported in the 2100 block of Southeast Boulevard at 10:58 p.m. Thursday. Officers found that one party had threatened the other over the phone. The matter was resolved for the evening, and the alleged threat will be documented in case there are any further issues.

-- Officers were stopped by a passing motorist in the 500 block of East State Street at 10:52 p.m. Thursday, who advised that a man was drinking alcoholic beverages, sitting on the brick wall, and yelling profanity at the park. Officers located the man, Ryan Armstrong, 41, Salem, who was cited for open container and the alcohol was dumped out. A short time later officers were notified they had begun to drink from a different open container. Officers advised them to go home, or they would be arrested for persistent disorderly conduct, and they left without issue.

-- Officers responded with the fire department to the 200 block of West 12th Street at 7:57 p.m. Thursday for an oven fire. When officers and the fire department arrived they were advised that the fire was out.

-- Officers checked a lost dog found by a resident for an ID chip at the police department at 8:01 p.m. Thursday. No chip was located and the resident was advised to contact the humane society in the morning.

-- Theft was reported in the 100 block of West State Street at 6:48 p.m. Thursday. Officers located the person in question behind a business, who admitted to stealing items from the business and possessing a meth pipe. The man, Jamie Tice Jr., Salineville, was detained and the stolen items and pipe were located on his person and seized as evidence. Tice was transported to the Columbiana County Jail.

-- A possible fight was reported in the area of East Pershing Street and Ohio Avenue at 10:28 a.m. Thursday. Officers located the people in question, who advised that it was only a verbal argument, and nothing physical had occurred. Officers advised them to stay away from one another.

-- A possible domestic was reported in the 100 block of West Third Street at 10:24 a.m. Thursday. The caller advised they were woken up by a man yelling. Officers found that the man was upset due to a vehicle issue, not an argument between the man and woman who live there.

-- Officers spoke to a person at the police department about comments a person made while eating breakfast at 8:56 a.m. Thursday. It was found that the comments were made at a restaurant outside the city.

-- A juvenile problem was reported in the 1200 block of East Pershing Street at 6:54 a.m. Thursday. Officers spoke with the person involved, and the issue was resolved.
