Sheriff’s Office — An Elkrun Township resident on Riffle Road reported a theft at 10:24 p.m. Sunday, but when a deputy called, he was told the item stolen was returned. The resident did not want to pursue charges. — A domestic dispute was reported at 8:53 p.m. Sunday on Hartley Road, Knox Township. A deputy spoke to both parties after responding, with one party advising she was leaving for the night as soon as she grabbed her belongings. Hearing set for economic district in East Palestine, Unity Twp.

EAST PALESTINE — A public hearing date has been set for the proposed Joint Economic Development District (JEDD) between the village and Unity Township. Council recently approved holding the hearing at 6:15 p.m. Oct. 26 at the Municipal Building on North Market Street. The JEDD has been a topic of discussion and planning between the village and township for some time, and the hearing will allow for public comment and recommendations on the proposed contract.
