Commissioners award first phase of Dresden Avenue manhole project

LISBON — Columbiana County commissioners on Wednesday awarded the Dresden Avenue manhole rehabilitation and replacement Phase 1 project to the lone bidder, Advanced Rehabilitation Technology. County Sanitary Engineer Bert Dawson recommended the awarding of the contract to the company headquartered in Bryan, Ohio for $408,525. Chief Deputy Sanitary Engineer Troy Graft said the project will begin within a month. A fourth-degree felony warrant that contributed to the arrest Friday of John P. Bartos III arose from a Beaver Township woman’s claim that she paid him $6,000 for windows and a patio door he never installed. Village Council gave first reading to legislation allowing for a change in the position during the most recent meeting.
