County auditor announces new aerial imaging now available

LISBON — Columbiana County Auditor Nancy Gause Milliken announced Wednesday that updated, clearer aerial imaging of properties throughout the county is now available. The updated imagery can be accessed through the county’s Geographic Information System website at columbianacountygis.org. “This is so much better than what we had,” Milliken said. The flyovers for the update occurred in late 2025 and then in 2026. The images were last updated in 2019. CVFD requests grant application for communications equipment

CALCUTTA — Firefighter Jacob Roush, Calcutta Volunteer Fire Department, addressed St. Clair Township trustees on behalf of the fire department during Monday requesting they file a grant application for $50,000 for new communications equipment. Roush told the trustees it is a grant for new MARCS radios through the Ohio State Fire Marshal and the $50,000 for which he wants to apply is the maximum allowed. He said the grant is fully paid and there is no match required by the township or the fire department. Roush said the equipment would improve the department’s communications. ...

Knox School closed for threat investigation; arrest made

BELOIT (WKBN) – The Knox school building will remain closed today due to a threat investigation, according to the West Branch School superintendent’s message to parents. Manley said he was contacted on Tuesday at 7 p.m. and asked to report a threat to the Sebring Police Department that involved the Knox school building, the home of the West Branch Preschool, Small Wonders Daycare, and classrooms of Columbiana County ESC students.
