LISBON — An East Liverpool woman charged for stealing from Farmers National Bank in 2020 pleaded guilty to theft and passing bad checks, both fifth-degree felonies, with sentencing set for March 14.
Gloria Flaherty, 49, Birch Road, appeared in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court recently to enter the plea. According to the indictment, she wrote a bad check for $4,500 dated Oct. 12, 2020 and used it on Oct. 13, 2020, then on Oct. 14, 2020, she allegedly stole $4,240 from Farmers National Bank.
Also in Common Pleas Court:
— Cody Grove, 34, Youngstown, was sentenced to seven months in prison after pleading guilty to fifth-degree felonies of possession of cocaine and possession of fentanyl-related compound for allegedly possessing fentanyl and cocaine on Oct. 6, 2021. The prison term was ordered served at the same time as the sentence Grove is already serving in prison. According to the Ohio Department of Corrections website, he’s serving three to four and a half years for felonious assault and an additional one year for failure to comply for charges in Carroll County. He’s also serving time for cases in Guernsey and Tuscarawas counties.
