LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a preliminary hearing was set May 13 for Victoria Rakel Redman, 20, West Sixth Street, East Liverpool, charged with fourth-degree felony burglary for allegedly trespassing in an apartment in East Liverpool on April 29 and taking items not belonging to her.

A preliminary/pretrial hearing was set May 14 for Hayden J. Hunt, 21, Laurelville, charged with fourth-degree felony failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer and misdemeanors of OVI first offense and reckless operation. Hunt allegedly fled from Salem police officers attempting a traffic stop and ended up stopping on a dead end road on May 4.

Brett Daniel Shoemaker, 49, Pinconning, Mich., was fined $750 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 70 days suspended and credit for one day served, leaving a balance of 19 days still to serve in jail for engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and an education course. He responded to an undercover ad on a known prostitution website and arranged for sexual activity with a woman in exchange for money, then traveled to East Palestine on Feb. 26 for the meeting with the phone used to make the arrangements in his possession.

Jackie H. Gu, 44, Dayton, was fined $500 and given a suspended 90-day jail term for possessing criminal tools. A charge of engaging in prostitution was dismissed by the prosecutor due to evidentiary issues. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and already completed an education course. Gu was accused of allegedly responding to an undercover familial ad on a known prostitution website and arranging for sexual activity with women for money to be paid via the Cash App, then traveled to East Palestine on Aug. 8, 2025 for the meeting with the phone used to make the arrangements in his possession.

Alicia M. Stafford, 43, Fombell, Pa., was fined $100 and given a suspended 30-day jail term for disorderly conduct amended from interference with custody. She was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and to have no contact with two victims. Stafford was accused of harboring a juvenile after the juvenile ran away from home and was refusing to return the juvenile on March 10, 2025.

Carter Thomas Davidson, 19, Manor Drive, Columbiana, was fined $250 and given a suspended 180-day jail term for telecommunications harassment. He was ordered to complete 40 hours community service and to have no contact with the victim or her home. Davidson used social media and phone numbers to send multiple harassing and unwanted messages to a juvenile on Aug. 13, 2025 in Columbiana.

Jose Diaz, 43, Alliance, was sentenced to 18 days in jail, with credit for 18 days already served, leaving zero days to serve in jail for disorderly conduct amended from resisting arrest for an incident Aug. 19, 2025 when he was pulling away from a police officer and refusing to stop in Perry Township.

Joseph Bell, 46, and April Bell, 40, both John Street, East Liverpool, were each fined $2,500 for five counts each of failure to file city income tax return, with the fines suspended as long as they complete their payment plans. One count of failure to file city income tax was dismissed for each of them. They were both accused of failing to file East Liverpool city income tax returns from 2020 to 2023 and for 2025.

Russell Lynn Poling, 29, Steubenville Pike Road, Lisbon, was fined $250 for a miscellaneous wildlife charge, with another miscellaneous wildlife charge dismissed. All evidence seized, including a 10-point buck and carcass, were forfeited to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. Poling used a shotgun to shoot a deer outside of Ohio deer gun week on Jan. 31 in Center Township.

A pretrial was set July 7 for Cody Allen Dehoff, 36, Beaver Circle, Columbiana, charged with operating a vehicle impaired third offense and reasonable control.

A pretrial was set July 14 for Brandy D. Virden, 47, Cleveland Street, Salem, charged with OVI second offense, OVI breath second offense and lighted lights required.

A pretrial was set July 7 for Perris Scott, 32, Canton, charged with OVI first offense, left of center and a tail light violation.

Marilyn G. Winters, 65, Riffle Road, Rogers, was fined $615 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days served in a drive intervention program, for OVI and failure to control. Her driver’s license was suspended for one year, with driving privileges granted. She was ordered to complete 20 hours community service.

A charge of driving under suspension against Jordan Michael Franklin, 31, Main Street, Wellsville, was dismissed without prejudice. A notation on the court judgment said court costs were waived because the citation was never filed. The incident allegedly occurred in St. Clair Township on April 28.

A probation violation hearing was set May 18 for Barry L. Ours, 51, Moore Street, East Liverpool, for a 2022 case of OVI.

Dakota James Stockman, 32, state Route 7, Rogers, was fined $50 for lighted lights amended from a stop sign violation.

Zoee L. Savage, 19, South Green Street, Lisbon, was fined $125 for driving under suspension and reasonable control.

Melissa Marie Puhalla, 47, Youngstown, was fined $150 for lighted lights amended from reasonable control.

Marlaina R. Rogers, 34, Crawford Road, Wellsville, was fined $25 for illegal plates.

Alexander W. Merdich, 38, Firestone Avenue, Columbiana, was fined $50 for lighted lights amended from failure to move left for public safety vehicle.

Mary Andrea Trunick, 74, Freedom, Pa., was fined $150 for lighted lights amended from reasonable control.

Lisa R. Goodrich, 41, Lake Milton, was fined $150 for lighted lights amended from driving while texting.

LISBON — Bruce A. Dawson, 62, Youngstown, was served recently with a secret indictment issued by the Columbiana County Grand Jury for possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly possessing cocaine on Feb. 23, 2023.
