Golden year for Salem couple

SALEM - Mr. and Mrs. Robert Flickinger of 621 Old Coach Lane, Salem, were honored on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary. A private family dinner was held on Aug. 20 at Dutch Inn in Columbiana. An anniversary trip is also planned in December to Opryland in Nashville, Tenn.The event was hosted by their children, Michael Flickinger, Marcia Ciotti and Cheryl Spielman, all of Salem. EAST PALESTINE - Robert E. and Geraldine E. Beers will celebrate their 50th anniversary Sept. 16 with a family celebration.The former Geraldine E. Bishop married Robert E. Beers on September 16, 1966 at the First Church of Christ in East Palestine by the Rev. W. Cain Smith.Mr. Beers served in the Navy from 1962-1966. Shankers to celebrate 65th year

SALEM - Richard and Eileen Shanker of Salem celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary over the Independence Day weekend at home with family. They were married on August 31, 1951.Mr. Shanker was employed for 29 years at Sterling Boat Trailer Company, Salem, 18 years at MPI Labels, Sebring, and for 13 years at The Label Team, Salem. LISBON - Kenneth and Carol Schreffler, Lisbon, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 8 with a private dinner held by their children at Cafe Capri in Boardman.The former Carol Swartz married Kenneth Schreffler on July 8, 1966 at the First United Methodist Church in Lisbon with the Rev.
