LISBON – Kenneth and Carol Schreffler, Lisbon, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 8 with a private dinner held by their children at Cafe Capri in Boardman.
The former Carol Swartz married Kenneth Schreffler on July 8, 1966 at the First United Methodist Church in Lisbon with the Rev. Fred Shiltz officiating.
Mr. Schreffler is a member of the Lisbon Ruritan and a Center Township trustee, a position he has held for 35 years. He worked at the Columbiana County Board of Developmental Disabilities from 1985-2004 as a truck driver and from 2005-2010 as a bus aide. Mr. Schreffler also worked for 18 years with A & P Tea Company.
Mrs. Schreffler worked at the Columbiana County Board of Developmental Disabilities from 1983-2010 as a workshop specialist.
Their 50th wedding cake was a two-tier cake trimmed in ivory and ivory roses and gold leaves by Das Dutch Haus, Columbiana.
The grandchildren serenaded them with “Can’t Help Falling In Love.”
The couple has four children, Cindy (Dean) Noble, Cortland; Kevin (Renee) Schreffler, Lisbon; Jeffrey (Melissa) Schreffler, Fairport, N.Y.; and Christine Schreffler, Lisbon, and eight grandchildren.
