— Officers responded to the 700 block of Arch Street at 1:52 p.m. Thursday for a report of an unresponsive man. When officers arrived the fire department was on scene providing CPR. EMT arrived on scene and transported the man to the Salem Regional Medical Center.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of Highland Avenue at 1:18 p.m. Thursday for a reported parking complaint. The vehicles were already in the process of being moved when officers arrived.
— Officers responded to the 1300 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 1:18 p.m. Thursday to speak with the caller about a protection order. The caller advised that about three weeks prior an incident involving another woman at their apartment building had occurred, and the caller wanted to know how to get a protection order. Officers advised them to seek a protection order from the municipal court.
— Officers responded to the 1500 block of Merle Road at 11:50 a.m. Thursday for a report of a runaway juvenile. Officers spoke with the juvenile’s mother who advised her daughter had left home that morning. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the juvenile. She was entered in LEADS as a missing juvenile.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of Walnut Street at 9:01 a.m. Thursday for a report of a person to be removed. Officers spoke with the man, Matthew Bays, 36, Salem, and dispatch advised officers the man had an active warrant out of the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office. Bays was arrested and transported to the Columbiana County Jail.
— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Short Avenue at 8:12 a.m. Thursday for a parking complaint. The caller advised that there were vehicles on the property preventing a fence from being put up. Officers spoke with the property owner and advised them that the vehicles could be towed on behalf of the caller. Both parties advised they were going to seek legal counsel and proceed with the matter in court.
— Officers responded to the 1000 block of Newgarden Avenue at 6:13 a.m. Thursday to check for a wanted person. Vehicles were present at the residence, but nobody responded to the door.
— Officers responded to the 1200 block of Cedar Ridge Drive at 4:42 p.m. Thursday for a wellness check on a female friend he was unable to get in touch with. Due to the time of the call contact was not attempted at the residence. A phone call was later placed, and the woman advised she was fine.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of Franklin Avenue at 12:09 a.m. Thursday for a report of a car alarm going off. Officers made contact with the owner who had disconnected the battery to stop the alarm as everything seemed to be okay and there was a fault in the wiring.
— Officers responded to the 1000 block of Newgarden Avenue at 10:08 p.m. Wednesday to attempt to serve an arrest warrant. Officers were unable to contact them.
— Officers responded to the 1700 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 8:38 p.m. Wednesday for an accident involving a man who wanted to commit suicide. Officers stood by until no longer needed, and the person was transported to the Salem Regional Medical Center.
— Officers responded to the 1900 block of East State Street at 7:13 p.m. Wednesday for a reported dog bite. Officers were advised a female juvenile went up to a man and attempted to pet the dog he was walking that was leashed, and in the process the dog attempted to bite the juvenile. The juvenile sustained a small red mark on the right arm as a result, but no serious injury occurred. The case will be forwarded to the health department, and the humane agent.
— Officers responded to Salem Parkway at 6:55 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a suspicious vehicle. The caller advised a vehicle was circling the area. Officers located the vehicle and learned the driver had just received his permit and was learning to drive where there were less vehicles.
— Officers responded to the 1500 block of Merle Road at 6:16 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a runaway juvenile. Officers spoke with the parents of the juveniles, obtaining descriptions, but were unable to obtain any possible destinations. Officers checked the area for the juvenile but were unable to locate them. The juvenile was entered into LEADS.
— Officers responded to the 800 block of South Lundy Avenue at 5:37 p.m. Wednesday for a wellness check. Officers checked on the woman in question who advised she was fine.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of Brooklyn Avenue at 5:21 p.m. Wednesday for a report of an irate person. Officers attempted to make contact but were unsuccessful.
— Officers responded to the 2400 block of East State Street at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday for a wellness check on two unattended juveniles in a vehicle. Officers observed the vehicle with both juvenile strapped into car seats and a man driving the vehicle.
