BEAVER TOWNSHIP — The Beaver Local wrestling team qualified five for the Division II state tournament this past winter, held at Ohio State University’s Schottenstein Center on March 13-15. Four Beaver grapplers placed at the event with Jake Hughes, standing atop the podium proudly representing his school as the 157-pound state champion. As it turned out, he was the Mahoning Valley’s lone individual or state champion in any winter sport. Cavs open Saturday CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Cavaliers will open the NBA playoffs by hosting the Toronto Raptors at 1 p.m. Saturday. The Cavaliers (52-3) are the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference, while Toronto (46-36) is the fifth seed. The Raptors swep the season series 3-0 (by scores of 110-99, 126-113 and 112-101).
