Lisbon 16, East Palestine 6

LISBON — Lisbon overcame an early deficit to take down East Palestine 16-6 in five innings on Monday.

For the Devils, Devin Kelly had a double and four RBIs, while Ashton Hinchliffe added three hits and two RBIs. Brady Carpenter had four hits and three RBIs, while turning in a winning effort on the mound with seven strikeouts, five walks and three earned runs in three innings. Mason Jones added a double.

Peyton Rutledge had two hits for the Bulldogs. Kealin Simon was the losing pitcher with two walks, two strikeouts and three earned runs in 3 2/3 innings.

Lisbon is 3-2 overall and 2-0 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference.

East Palestine fell to 2-4 and 1-4 in the EOAC.

Lisbon will host East Canton today.

The Lisbon and East Palestine play again on Wednesday at Ace of Diamonds.

Columbiana 21, Wellsville 0

COLUMBIANA — Beckett Wilson had two doubles and three RBIs to lead Columbiana to a 21-0 win over Wellsville in five innings on Monday.

Avery Young added a single and double with an RBI. Hunter Davanzo had two hits and two RBIs. Nick Klindworth had a single, double and three RBIs. Sam Indboden had two hits and three RBIs.

Davis was the winning pitcher as he struck out nine, walked one and limited the Tigers to three hits.

Ethan Morris had a double for the Tigers.

Cooper Frank was the losing pitcher as he gave up seven earned runs while striking out one and walking four in three innings.

Columbiana is 4-5 and 2-1 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference.

Wellsville is 0-6 and 0-4 in the EOAC.

The two teams play again on Wednesday at Wellsville.

United 17, Southern 0

SALINEVILLE — United used 17 walks by Southern pitching to run away with a 17-0 win in Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference play on Monday.

Cavan Jackson and Carter Simmons had a hit and three RBIs each. Jason Pratt had a hit and two RBIs. He was also the winning pitcher with one hit allowed, a walk and nine strikeouts in five innings.

Preston Pitts was the losing pitcher for Southern as he went four innings with 13 earned runs, 12 walks and three strikeouts.

United is 6-2 and 5-0 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference and will host Southern on Wednesday.

Southern fell to 3-4 and 1-2 in the EOAC.

COLUMBIANA — Crestview’s baseball team suffered a 3-1 loss to Southeast on Monday.

Southeast scored all of its runs in the top of the seventh.

Kyle Booth had a double and RBI for the Rebels.

Isaac Unkefer had nine strikeouts, no walks and no earned runs in seven innings for the Rebels.

Crestview (5-2) is at Southeast today.

SALEM — Ben Catlos had a home run, double, single and two RBIs to lead Springfield past Salem 8-3 on Monday.

For Salem, Ben Kuboff had a hit and two RBIs.

Jaxson Douglas took the loss with five walks, two strikeouts and six earned runs in four innings.

Salem (1-6) will be at Minerva on Tuesday.

CALCUTTA. — Beaver Local was handed a 10-2 loss to Indian Creek on Monday.

Peyton Martin led the Beavers with a double and RBI. Britton Hickman had a hit and RBI.

AJ Bowser took the loss with a strikeout, three walks and six earned runs in three innings.

Beaver Local is 5-5 and hosts East Liverpool today.

EAST LIVERPOOL — East Liverpool couldn’t make an early lead hold up as it fell to Harrison Central 9-4 on Monday.

The Potters were up 4-1 in the second inning before the Huskies made a comeback.

For the Potters, Donovan Shallcross had a single, double and two RBIs.

Noah Kinsey took the loss with two walks, four earned runs and no strikeouts in an inning of work.

East Liverpool is 2-9 and will be at Beaver Local today.

UNITY — Heartland Christian managed one hit in an 11-1 loss to Warren JFK in five innings on Monday.

Brennan Murray had the Lions’ only hit. Jacob Goehring was the losing pitcher with a strikeout, three walks and an earned run in two innings.

Heartland is 1-6 and will be at Lisbon on Thursday.
