YOUNGSTOWN — It’s been a perfect start for the Columbiana volleyball team, which hasn’t dropped a game in four matches this season. The Clippers had another sweep, this time against Youngstown Mooney for a 25-11, 25-13, 25-22 win Saturday. Keagan Pruitt had 11 points, three aces and 10 digs for the Clippers. EMCH AT PITT PITTSBURGH — Six-foot-4 sophomore Abbey Emch is a regular in the University of Pittsburgh women's volleyball team lineup this season. Emch, who starred at Crestview High School, sparked the defensive effort Sunday as she collected four blocks, two digs and two kills in fourth-ranked Pittsburgh's 25-13, 25-21, 25-16 swept of sixth-ranked Wisconsin in the Opening Spike Classic. MCDONALD — Beaver Local senior Luke Warrick and the Beavers’ boys cross country team earned second-place finishes at the Billy Goal Challenge Saturday at Woodland Park. Streetsboro topped the boys team standings with 68 points, followed by Beaver Local with 93. Columbiana was fifth with 140.
