Salem 47, Alliance 18

ALLIANCE — Maddy Andres had 17 points and seven rebounds and Karlie Sampson 13 points and six rebounds in leading Salem past Alliance, 47-18, Saturday.

The Quakers improve to 9-5 overall and 3-3 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference. The Aviators drop to 4-9 and 0-6 in the EBC.

Salem held Alliance to three points in each the first, second and third quarters for a 35-9 lead. Peyton Colbert had four assists.

There was no junior varsity game.

Salem will play at Minerva Wednesday with a two-quarter junior varsity game at 5:30 p.m., followed by the varsity game.

East Palestine 37, Campbell 24

EAST PALESTINE — East Palestine used a 27-11 second-half run to beat Campbell Memorial, 37-24, Saturday.

Destiney Burtyk totaled 17 points, 17 rebounds and four assists to lead the Bulldogs. Amara Wilson added 10 points and Violet Glavan grabbed nine rebounds.

The Bulldogs won for the fourth time in five games to improve to 7-7, while the Red Devils drop to 4-8.

Burtyk scored 15 points in the second half to key the rally, while Wilson added eight points.

Both teams play today with East Palestine traveling to Wellsville and Campbell at 12-1 Western Reserve.

Indian Creek 59, East Liverpool 34

EAST LIVERPOOL — Indian Creek beat East Liverpool for the second time in three days, this time a 59-34 decision on Saturday.

Kaydence Walker had 25 points and Gracie Klinesmith 11 for the Redskins, who won their seventh in a row to improve to 12-1.

The Potters move to 5-9 on the season.

Both teams play today with East Liverpool at Steubenville at Indian Creek at Carrollton.

West Branch 54, Minerva 8

MINERVA — West Branch finished the game with a 51-4 run that gave the Warriors a 54-8 win over Minerva on Saturday.

Trailing 4-3 early, West Branch’s Audrey Eaton hit a three-pointer to start a 18-0 run that put the Warriors on their way to victory. It was West Branch’s 21st straight win over Minerva.

Madi Hoopes scored a game-high 14 points. Eaton, Tallie Muniz and Sydney Lane each had seven points and Alli Kanagy added five.

Ireland Kirkpatrick had four of Minerva’s points.

West Branch improves to 11-1 overall and 6-0 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference. Minerva drops to 2-11 and 1-5 — the two wins coming against Alliance and United.

Both teams play Monday with West Branch hosting Youngstown Mooney and Minerva entertaining East Canton. West Branch will play a two-quarter junior varsity game at 6 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 6:45 p.m.
