John ‘Mickey’ Welsh

John “Mickey” Welsh, 85, of Salineville, Ohio, passed away at Aultman Hospital on Jan. 2, 2026. He was surrounded by his loving family.

Born March 29, 1940 in Canton, Ohio, John was a son of Paul and Verna (Polen) Welsh. He grew up in Salineville and graduated from Southern Local High School in 1958. In 1960, John started working at Coal Cast – TRW – PCC Airfoils in Minerva, Ohio. He retired after 48.5 years at the age of 67.5. He enjoyed drag racing, traveling, dancing, small engine repair, and farming.

He will be missed by his wife of 65 years, Janice (Jones) Welsh; daughter, Susie (Larry) Sams; son, Paul Michael Welsh Sr.; granddaughter, Jessica (Adam) Stoffer; grandson, Paul Michael Welsh Jr.; great-granddaughter, Jenna Rae Wright.
