To the editor: Letter carriers take pride in delivering mail promptly, efficiently, and in the safest manner possible. Backing is the most dangerous maneuver a postal vehicle can make. An effort has been made nationally to eliminate as many backing instances as possible on each and every postal route. This is being done for the safety of our employees as well as our customers. To the editor: On behalf of the families of some Leetonia School students we want to express our gratitude to the members of the Washingtonville VFW. A handful of students are planning on attending the 2021 presidential inauguration and the donation from the VFW to each student is extremely appreciated. We all do what we can for our kids and wanted them to be able to attend this once-in-a-lifetime adventure. To the editor: I want to thank and respond to Robert Spaite for his letter to the editor (May 4). In my opinion, I think it should be reprinted in bold type and maybe someone who should have read it, and needs to read it, might spot it the second time around. I don’t know Mr. Spaite’s age. I’m in my 70s and therefore remember parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles talking about the Great Depression and WWII with its rationing and life changes. To the editor: I’m a big fan of personal liberty and self-governance. I also value my health and that of those around me. I believe we don’t have to sacrifice one for the other. It doesn’t make sense to me that the prescription for this virus should be one that assaults liberty, destroys the economy and disrupts the food chain.
