To the editor: On Aug. 19, the President of the United States gave us the following directive via a tweet: “Don’t buy GOODYEAR TIRES — They announced a BAN ON MAGA HATS. Get better tires for far less! (This is what Radical Left Democrats do. Two can play the same game, and we have to start playing it now!)” Goodyear is an American company headquartered in Akron, Ohio. Goodyear had decided to remain apolitical. Resident will not back down from ‘cowards’

To the editor: The good people of Columbiana County need to hear this. There are a few of us supporting Black Americans with Black Lives Matter signs in our yards. In response, we are receiving cowardly anonymous letters in the mail that spout right wing conspiracy theory, newspaper articles written by racist conservative columnists and other hateful rhetoric. The Salem Hunting Club hosted this event on Aug. 1 This year we gave four Lowell Iden-Larry Iler Scholarships to local students.
