“Where, O Where, is Michael Rulli?”

To the editor: Just like two years ago, State Senator Michael Rulli’s ads are saying that he will represent all of us. I wonder now, as I have for two years — how CAN he when we never even see him? In the past several months, Rulli has been conspicuously absent from major events to which all candidates are invited and expected to show up. Columbiana County Township Association Annual Dinner and Candidate Forum. Boardman Civic Club. Ohio Education Association. Ohio Federation of Teachers. He did not respond to the League of Women Voters. Other candidate forums. I could go on. ...

Ryan’s voting record speaks for itself

To the editor: As election day approaches, it is important for Ohioans to be informed about their choices for US Senator and ensure that the candidate they support will represent their values. Expresses support for both parks levies

To the editor: As former Mayor of Salem, I would like to continue to express my support for the Columbiana County Park District Levy, as well as, the Salem Parks Renewal Levy, which both will appear on the November 8th ballot. The voters of Salem have long shown their support for city parks levies because, I believe, they enjoy a well-maintained parks system that provides much needed recreation close to home and they understand how those parks can be an economic development driver. The Salem Parks Commission continues to be great stewards of the monies levied. Many residents of Salem ...

Vote ‘Yes’ for Columbiana County Park District Levy

To the editor: Although I have only been on the Columbiana Park Board for several months, I have long been aware of the benefits of the Little Beaver Creek Greenway Trail, Scenic Vista Park and Hellbender Park in Madison Township. In fact, I have been riding the Greenway Trail since 2000 as well as other dedicated bike trails in the eastern United States. I can say without fear of being contradicted that our Greenway is the finest and most scenic of any of the trails I have experienced. Like anything of quality, our trail and the other parks need ongoing care and improvement in order ...

Urges county residents to support parks levy

To the editor: On November 8, the Columbiana County Park District will seek voter approval of a 0.35 mill levy that would cost the owner of a home valued at $100,000 approximately $12.25 per year. I would urge all county residents to vote for this levy. One dollar a month is a small price to pay to help the Park District maintain, improve and expand the Greenway Trail and its two main parks — Scenic Vista and Hellbender Bluff. These facilities are used by thousands of county residents each year. The Park District currently operates and maintains the trail and the parks with only ...
