Highway Patrol — Thomas Discipio, of Canton, was cited at 1:27 p.m. Oct. 17 in West Township for failure to control, after he went off the right side of Rochester Road while southwest bound and struck a ditch and overturned his vehicle. — Shawn Peters, of Beaver Falls, Pa., was cited at 10:06 a.m. Oct. 18 in Fairfield Township for failure to yield the right of way when turning left. Sheriff’s Office —A missing person report was filed at 8:45 p.m. Oct. 12 when a person called and said the missing person was helping someone at an unknown McDonald’s location on Oct. 9 and the caller had not heard anything since then from him. Later on Oct. 13, the caller reported contact was made with the missing person and he was okay. — A deputy at 4:20 p.m. Oct. 12 took a shooting complaint on Middleton Road, Fairfield Township and while there talking with the caller saw the neighbor shooting 50 yards south of the deputy’s position. Sheriff’s Office — A woman on Union Street, Washingtonville reported at 10:46 p.m. Saturday that she was in the kitchen when the back door began to open and a man began to walk in. She slammed the door shut while pushing him out and locked the door. He stayed in his car, a black Toyota sedan, until 10 minutes prior to a deputy arriving. No forced entry was made. Upon arrival, the deputy checked the area but had no contact with anything or anyone. Leetonia — An officer assisted EMS with a lift assist at 12:37 p.m. Oct. 19 in the 300 block of Angelmyer Street. — An officer responded at 9:10 p.m. Oct 18 in the 100 block of Lisbon Street to an ATV rollover crash. Upon arrival, no citations were issued as the driver had been operating the ATV in the front yard and rolled during a sharp turn. Both the driver and passenger were transported to St. Elizabeth’s via EMS. —Police were dispatched at 7:12 p.m. Oct. 16 to the first block of Pine Street to speak with a female about her ex-boyfriend possibly having her firearm.

Sheriff’s Office — Deputies were dispatched at 9:55 p.m. Oct. 9 to the 9800 block of Stroup Road for a vehicle sitting in the road with its headlights on. Contact was made with the driver, Mitchel O. Lacey, 53, Bethesda Road, Franklin Township, who was cited for no license and parking in roadway. Sheriff’s Office — Dispatch received a call at 12:45 a.m. Friday from a resident in the village of Minerva regarding a large explosion they heard south of their residence on East Lincoln Way. The caller said Minerva Police advised the sound was likely from a fracking well pad in Columbiana County, however off of Major Road NE in Carroll County. A deputy checked the area without hearing any further explosions. Contact was made at the Norris Well Pad and the foreman advised they did not have or hear any explosions from their pad.
